I just tonight found your channel and I am so very thankful fot your honest content. Today 20 weeks ago I became a widow. We had 49 years, five months and 1 week. It was sudden and no warning. I feel so lost. My husband's favorite saying was "God has got a plan". I know that to be true and I know he is in heaven and someday we will be reunited. I know that God's grace is sufficient and I have to keep the faith. Thank you for your honesty. God bless you.

I have missed you. My wife of 40 years passed 2 months ago, and I have enjoyed your videos. I had open heart 5 years ago, all good and you can do this! You Must get a good recliner (electric) to recover in. The lazy boy big boy recliner saved me for sure. Get up and walk as soon as you can, even if it is only to the mailbox. Thank you amigo. I do have a very comfortable recliner but it’s not electric. However, my bed is adjustable both the head and the feet so I think I will be fine recovering there. But thank you for your suggestion.

Yay! Carlos you’re back! I was afraid you croaked! So glad to see you’re doing well. You have such a fun, infectious personality and positive attitude. I was married for 54 years and lost my mate too. But God is good and my new husband and I will be celebrating 10 years in September! I, like you, was definitely not looking for another relationship but God had another idea. And you know, His ideas are the best! You’re too much fun and vivacious to be alone. I’m pretty sure He’s going to bring someone pretty special in your life and you need to go for it like I did! I will be praying for you my friend and your upcoming surgery.

My husband survived stents and then open heart surgery on a heart valve. When he was 75. You will be OK later too. You have god on your side. Choose the best doctors. They make a big difference. Best wishes.

Is that your granddaughter laughing!? I’m 80 yrs old and will be married a year the 18 th of this month. I lost my husband to Alzeheimers and was lonely. Wow you old guys sure come on fast! I just had Carotid artery surgery, in March 2 stents In arteries of my heart. I’m doing great, it will give you many more years to enjoy life!! God bless you!❤

Hi Carlos,just ran across your video. I am a widow my husband past away 3yrs ago and for the 1st 2yrs i was in a terrible depression,but after that i started to try to live again. I lived in S C at the time but have since moved to Gastonia N C.closer to my grand children. It is hard to make friends with couples because they dont know how to handle singlesness, it makes them feel like they need to fix us up all the time so that we fit in better with them. I dont want a mate i want a friend to do things with. I am a christian and feel like the Lord will send me a husband if thats what i need. I am happy in the time of my life that i am in now. I pray that your surgery will go great and you will be back on your feet guickly. Bless in Jesus name Judy

Hey, Carlos what an enchanting journey you have shared with such elegance and poise. It looks like you have really ministered a lot of healing to those who have lost spouses in the last few years as you have yours. You just floated on my screen tonight and I was most intrigued as I have been in Willmington exactly one year, and my new happy place is Wrightsville Beach! I asked the Lord for someone to walk with on the beach and that is how it started early this year.
I have 3 female friends, from different areas, who like you, have been widowed exactly 2 years ago each. Very good marriages and I've been very touched at the loss they have experienced after so many years of marriage. Quite a heartfelt transition which has to be extremely difficult....any way I've enjoyed your journey and you are doing great! I will stand with you in prayer for the best healing transitions and wellness with strength through the spirit of might.

Good for you, Carlos. I am a 62 yr old single woman, retired, and I can relate to not wanting a love relationship. God is my groom. Unlike you though, I don’t even want a platonic relationship. I am really involved with my church and that keeps me busy. Also, I have several single/widowed friends that can go and do things with. Sisterhood is important to me.

This was my first time seeing You, Carlos! You are so uplifting and heartwarming at the same time. I lost my husband 2019...it was a nightmare and so so scary. Listening to your 1st year made me smile. I, too had to learn new things...financial and taking care of a house beyond cleaning! Thank you. Hi Carlos, wishing you the best on your upcoming surgery, my dad had a quadruple bypass back in the late 1970's, I remember being very surprised that he was back to mowing the grass (walking behind a lawnmower) within two weeks! My dad did not have a 2 week notice, he had several heart attacks in the hospital and it was an emergency. Again we'll be praying for you and wishing you a speedy recovery.
I could only hope that I do as well as your dad.
Carlos, the Spirit of the Lord is upon you! Thank you for sharing your life & encouraging us on this journey of life. Our life & times are in the Lord's hands, the Lord will go before you as you face this surgery in the peace & strength of the Lord. I would suggest you eat clean, take vitamins, plenty of water & citrus fruits. Have a Walker & commode & help in your recovery. Make sure you're diligent with physical therapy. You'll feel like you're 50 again in no time. Our Lord God is our healer. Blessings & prayers to you.

Hi Carlos, nice to see you on here again, I had triple heart surgery almost 5 yrs ago. I’m doing well , when I heard that I must have this surgery , I was in disbelief. But I had to have it done, it was very necessary. I hope you have a hosp, date set , you seem like a good living man, God will take care of you during and after the surgery . Plus the doctors and nurses will take such good care of you , and you have your family, Gods blessings and a good recovery . Let us know how you are doing when you are feeling better.🙏

Carlos I had triple bypass 13 years ago just prior to my 60th birthday. For myself I found it a hard operation to have gone through but so worthwhile. What stayed with me the longest was weakness in the upper body cause we are so use to using our arms so much and any little pressure from their use I really felt in my chest, this slowly goes away as you get stronger. It takes awhile to get back to your old self but you will soon even surpass your old self. You will be amazed at how unwell you felt and did not even know it. Just follow doctors orders and you will have a whole new life to look forward to. Bless you on your journey.

The best part from a daughter's prespective and my mom's heart surgery....❤ I got my mom in our family's life for ten more wonderful, happy years. We shopped 😂, she saw my childeren be born, we had holidays together! After maybe a month of healing it was game on and a wonderful life followed. We had soent years worrying about this surgery and how wonderful after the surgery that fear was gone was a blessing.

I had a heart attack in April this year. I had one blocked artery that they put a stent in. I am doing well. It would have been easier if I fixed my artery before the attack so I applaud you getting your heart fixed before an attack.

My husband had to have a double Bypass 7 months after we got married in 2000. He didn’t want to have the surgery but the Dr. Told him that if he doesn’t have it he will not have more then 5 more years to live. I got very upset with him , I told him I didn’t get married to be a widow in 5 years. Well he had it done and came through it beautifully. Unfortunately I lost him in 2018 from Dementia. it’s been rather lonely even though I have many single friends from church but I miss the intimacy. I trust it all in God’s hands. 🙏
So sorry for your loss, dementia is such an ugly disease. Thank you for sharing how your husband did so well after the surgery.
Eleven years ago I was diagnosed with double by pass surgery. I decided to put it in God’s hands and if I died I wouldn’t know it and if I lived great! I don’t. think there was a really bad thing about the recovery time because I felt that I had a new lease on life. It is now 11 years since my surgery and I am doing great!

I know the social struggle, married 49 years when my husband died. With in a year after his death I had to have a pacemaker.
He has been gone two years and like you don’t want a love interest. I go to water aerobics, meet with a group of widows to eat monthly and am starting to go to a book review club this week.

Isn't it interesting what happens when we are making other plans? God is so good! He tosses something new at us to see what we will
do with it. I know you will do well with this surgery, and I will definately keep you in my prayers. Almost 8 years ago we (my sons and I) bought an old victorian home and it really needed (and still does) a lot of TLC. We know that God led us here and to the man who owned it. He wanted a family who loved God in this home and we wanted a home that felt like it had a great deal of love in it. Well, about a year after we bought
the home, my legs started giving me problems. Arthritis. I went to doctor after doctor only to find out that I am not able to have the surgery on them as I had a slight (very slight) stroke about 15 years ago and it is too risky to undergo surgery because of that. It has stopped me from some things I loved, but I have learned so many new things. The new I-pad for instance. We have become a cat rescue family. I think the word is out to unwed mama cats that they are safe here and we love them. We have about 4 acres and a huge barn so they have a wonderful life here. Of course, as soon as they are able we have them spayed or neutered and all of their shots. So, there are 10 kitties to love here and plenty of room for them. There are also deer, and every sort of bird you can imaging here, as well. Nature in abundance!
Now a little about me. I am retired, and owned my business for 11 years after working for others for about 15 years. I am a barber stylist and also did women's hair as well. I loved it, and miss it. I have been a widow for 30 years. My husband died when he was 48 and I was 47. I have had plenty of offers of marriage, but I am just not interested. I, like you, would like to find some wonderful friend, who would like to go to dinner, travel a little (maybe), Also, I love the theater and people! I think being in that business was a great type of socializing! My three single sons and I share this big old home, and it works out well. Lots of room for everyone, and lots of privacy. We eat together, cooking is a passion of my eldest son, as well as mine. The other two either enjoy what we have cooked or make their own!
I hope you do really well, I know you will. God holds each of us in his hands. Anytime I start to worry about something, I just ask Jesus to take care of it. He is the ultimalte healer. Carlos, I live in Ohio, and it is a rural town. I grew up and my husband and I lived in the city all of those years. Now, this is a wonderful change, it is so peaceful. My cousin lives in Raleigh now. She just sold her home in Apex,N.C. I am hoping to get to visit here either this fall or next spring. She is looking for a smaller home now. I have family in Wilington, also. Small world isn't it?
She also has a duplex on Emerald Isle. and she spends a lot of time there. Ok, I have talked too much, but I really think you are an interesting man and would like to become pen pals (?) maybe? 🙂 Or we could talk on the phone? I do have a few friends from my old life as a pastors wife but I find people are busy with their own family life.
As far as your upcoming operation I must say I had the same op and it was a great success. Thank you God.
I still drive my own car but my children feel I should not go on long trips alone in South Africa anyway.
I pray God will keep you and lead you on the next episode of your new life.
The good thing is that you do have friends like you say from your old life. Yes people are busy these days.

Hello don Carlos,first time I see your videos,iam a divorce and a widow not by choice,I was married to my husband for 27 years and after the divorce he passed away,I was so angry with him that I didn't have time to grieve,and I was also grieving the death of mom who had just died from cancer,when I saw you dancing by yourself it made me laugh that is what I do many times Iam a strong believer in Jesus christ and that is what keeps me going,after you heart is open for surgery then open your heart to love again,family and friends can just fill us some,but you need to love again,Jesus said"Iam the way,and truth and the life no one comes to the father except by me. May you heal without any problems from your heart surgery and may you enjoy your life with your family.

Carlos,I watched your video and loved it….I recently had a heart attack…I take care of my son who is totally bedridden with multiple sclerosis.When I had the heart attack,it was late at night, I could not call on the ambulance because I could not leave my son alone…lt was painful.I just laid on my bed and cried out the name of Jesus.In about 40 minutes it was over praise God…went to the doctors,went through all test,no heart damage !!! Like you I am very heathy…I am pretty much alone these days as my husband died 5 years ago.Carls ,What I loved about your video was your smiling face and upbeat attitude but most of all your love for Our Lord….You look great,I know you will ace this and be back on your feet in no time…God Bless,your friend Gerry Daneri Gable.

I am a Latin women with the same zest for life as you have.
But I’m a great salsa dancer, and Swing dancer. I sold my house in Bradenton Fl after 25/years. I am now living with my daughter in Pasco County Fl.

My wife of 34 years passed away Sept. 2 2023 after a 13 month battling with cancer. It’s an overwhelming loss.
So sorry to hear about your wife. The first year will be your hardest. I hope that you have good support from family and friends. They help me get through that first year. Concentrate on all the good memories you and her had. Don’t focus on what could have been. No regrets.

After open heart surgery just ease yourself back into the dating scene by starting off with the local Liberian lady and not a hot blonde down at your local beach or you'll end up having another heart attack

I have found it more difficult to fit in now that I'm widowed too.
I wish I knew on how to overcome that. I just keep on living my life the best I can.
Im so glad to have my family and good friends. Going to church alone has been hard.
