Diz was a damn good blues singer too! But he could do whatever he set out to do. He was a genius. It's impossible to play with puffed up cheeks. He did it anyway, and BRILLIANTLY! And he was funny. Maybe the most lovable jazz artist of all time. Grateful I got to see him, but I'm old. I even saw Count Basie....
I think Dizzy was the sexiest 73 year-old man here. Of course, I believe he was the sexiest man that ever lived. I just love him and it breaks my heart to see him so old here... Such a beautiful bright soul had to age and had to die... May he live forever...♥
Mr.Dizzys tone is enjoyable but as a musician I could not help but notice his embouchure, he should have practiced more on it. Not a hater the performance was most enjoyable.

When I Recall Those Times it was Truly A Time Of The GODS Pouring their Spirits AMOUNG US, PRAISE GOD.❤
Wow
I just watched a few videos to be sure and his cheeks blew up bigger with age. They must have gotten stretched out because he played so much.
One of the best musicians i have ever seen. Though his cheeks looks like that of a pufferfish.
Skin looses it's elasticity with age.
He also didn't have much muscle there. That's the reason for puffy cheeks.
couple of monsters
Yes, two monsters, is exactly what I think.

Is that Jon Faddis on second trumet besides James Boland
I think so
Absolutely Faddis.
can someone tell me if in 7:46 he is singing through the trumpet ?
abortodedios yes in fact he his
He is playing with the valves not fully pressed down same technique used in sleigh ride when the horse whinnies at the end
I think he is doing half valves

Jordan J Harris its a disease
Tomachar he never learnt to use proper technique so he got really good that way and didnt stop due to being so good
This must be the first time the words Mr Dizzy have ever appeared.
And who are you?
you should probably tell him how to play
