One thing that hits me about Simon:
He has a reputation as a cynical grouch - but that's probably from a whole lifetime of seeing one poor or second-rate act after another. Every once in a while, he's genuinely impressed - and you realize that underneath all that jadedness he loves, absolutely LOVES music, magic, comedy, and show business in general. It's just that he so rarely sees something done really really well, or something he hasn't seen before, that it's very hard to impress him.

Very good! likely the calculator app was created for the trick and no matter what numbers put in it would come out with that number. David's pin was a secret number so we could not repeat the numbers and see if that was the number that came out. Very well presented trick though
You can use the default calculator on your phone. The trick is called Toxic, you can force any number you want. No need to create a special app for this.

That's an extremely good presentation of a classic, and we like the flawless act and the general energy. You don't need credit cards or pin numbers, as people will relate to any card or any number (Penn & Teller would ask for a driver's license)

The calculator(phone) is not a normal one. The numbers don’t multiply to the one shown. Also dividing the shown number with 71059 doesn’t give a 4 digit number
I did the math too.
Abdullah Khan, should have been obvious without even doing the math when he actually gave the resulting number, because that _would_ have been no different than giving out the 4 digit bank pin, something he made a point not to show.

even if the app was not a real calculator and preprogrammed to give simon's birthday as the result, ....dude still made a credit card go through a phone.
Multiply the numbers yourself. Now divide by the 71059 they end up with. That will equal Davids PIN. Does anything seem strange to you? His PIN is 2196.352889852.

It's actually pretty easy to find David's banking code using some Algebra. We can say that the banking code = x and solve from there.

I have done this. You program the 71059 before the trick and hit 0. You can multiply 1 x1 x1 / 1. It does not matter what numbers you use. It’s when you hit = it will go to your predetermined number. In this case, 71059. Why he made the last number the PIN number. A secret number so nobody can do the actual math.
Well, you can do the actual math and realize that it doesn't add up. Because there is no 4-digit number which, multiplied by 71059, yields the number obtained by multiplying the other 3.
After i put in the numbers in my calculator i get 156 070 640 when Davids is showing 157 612 840. So Im guessing the calculator is not a regular calculator, and always shows the numbers he put in beforehand. Unless David put in the wrong numbers then that part isnt really that great is it?
In mathematics, there are various factors of multiplication. We defaultly work in base 10 every day of our lives. The performer could have tweaked the settings in many different ways, but rest assured it does not mean cheating because these are legit and normal things to do with maths. Also, I'm glad with your comment because my worry is that if the calculator was in default mode, anyone could have easily reversed the act and figured out David's banking digits.
Your observation is wonderful, I just hope it wasn't meant as a criticism, because understanding is key.

That’s how the trick was done. It didn’t matter what David typed, the ‘fake’ calculator app would have returned Simon’s birthday.
Easy trick... Wasnt the stock calculator app. Probably set up to show that number when you hit equal. He had David do his pin so the cameras wouldn't show him typing. That would allow everyone to know the trick. Good trick tho.

So to get 71059 whole number (which is seen in the calculator after David hands it over) 156,070,640 must be divided by 2196.353 ( which is supposed to be David's pin). David obviously wouldn't have entered this pin
It's not scripted, this is part of that million years old trick. Either the calculator is rigged, or if audience mobile is used, a math formula secretly entered, something like 71059 + (0 * ([your numbers] i.e. forced to get the number you want.

Not that impressive. He pre-arranged it so whatever David entered would result in 71059. There is no way David could had entered a number divided into 1402 X 1012 X 110 that would had resulted in 71059 because 71059 is a prime number and that means the resultant from 1402 X 1012 X 110 must be a multiple of 71059 which it is not.

The calculator app is fake (the moment he hands him his phone instead of having them use their own is a massive tell). Meaning it just spits out any old answer he wants. Which is why he hides the last entry so we can't verify the math (even though we can backwards calculate his PIN).
Anyone familiar with Penn and Teller's Fool Us would bust this trick pretty quickly.

All he needed to know was Simon's birthday which I'm sure anyone can easily search on the internet. Installed an app on his phone that looked like a normal calculator so that whatever inputs made would result to numbers corresponding to Simon's birthday. Sleek but not foolproof.

why i think this calculator was an app developed by him with pre-calculated result , not sure if anyone verified if the calculation was correct so much so that the division resulted in no decimals.
TBH, it was 2 cheap old tricks with a weak presentation. The bright side is, the judges didn't troll the act like they did with the witch...

If audience phone is used, a math formula has to be added, something like [your_number] + (0 * ([let them type whatever they want], "=" will add the closing "))". The 'push card through is a simple sleight of hand and a rigged item was used, i.e. it really is possible to push through the card, $5 cr.p in any magic store.
