    One thing I would say after using Pro Acryl for a while, be careful about leaving too much paint on the wet pallet for too long. These paints break down and separate super easily and quickly

      so to fix a problem in their product line, the consumer should pay extra money to purchase a new paint lid, instead of them just using a better lid on their products (which they have already developed)...? that doesnt seem to make sense, sounds like a greedy business model. Those Monument guys must be super kind and helpful...LOL

      @@solebydesign Our main lids are by far the most liked. They are the only lid that gives you a positive seal and keep paint fresh. The little paint at the tip is waaaaay less of a hassle than what normal droppers seap out and allow to dry.

    Burnt Red is such a good color! And yeah, Mahogany is great for building into Burnt Red and then Bold Pyrrole Red. I'm also a huge fan of the Dark Blue-Grey, the White-Blue, their Jade is amazing and of course the Bold Titanium White. Recently I picked up their Copper and Dark Bronze and I love them both too. I also like the Panzer Grey from Vallejo for a dark primer, but I'm gonna be trying out Pro Acryl's Dark Neutral Grey next.
    It ain't hard beating the Citadel Pots, replace the twist caps with one of the dropper lids Pro Acryl sells and never look back.

    Never really had the issue with the getting paint out, only with them being a little less precise for dispensing paint, compared to other bottles, due to the larger nozzle size.
    I did get some good tips for the "overflow" issue though: aActually give the paint time to settle back down before you close it and/or tap the bottle on the desk to give it a little help. Since adopting these, it's not really an issue now.

    A friend of mine also got me into the Pro Acryl line after he started using them and raving about them. I'm on my second bottles of Bold P Red, Dark Purple, Bold White and Green. On my third bottle of the Coal Black and Burnt Red.

    @h347h Před 5 měsíci +1

    I love their white and washes.

  • @Gloomshimmer
    @Gloomshimmer Před 5 měsíci +2

    The Tips are a bit quirky.
    You should squeeze until something comes out, but less than you want. Then close it and use the last drop on the tip. If you need not much paint thats the pro. Just squeeze, and only use the drop on the tip.
    Or buy the slighty overpriced normal caps. You also can print it.
    To the finish: Pro Acryl normally has a very matte finish. Not Scale matte, but matte.
    You started with the wrong set. Buy the base set. Or just buy Bold titanium white, coal black and bold pyrrole red. These 3 are awesome. Also the washes are rat. The metallics are mediocre, except white gold. The purples, greens, yellows, blues are all very good. Especially the jades, teals, purple tones are awesome. The normal blue is very good. Browns also.
    Whats not good? The ivories. They are chalky af, dont cover and have strange tones.
    Good supplement lines: AK (as usual). Vallejo Model and Metal colors. Duncans (if you want more Citadelish paints). Maybe the new AP Fanatics but i think ap will have some flaws, as usual.
    The Pro Acryl Airbrush primers are the best out there, especially Dark neutral grey, which is a better coat then pure black.
    Last Tip: If you want to contrast over them, first varnish satin over it. Or basecoat with wraithbone. As all very matte and coarse paints Contrast and Washes (outside the PA ones) dont work really well, because they cant flow.
    The new AK Deepshades are a good supplement for the washes. As we all knew Citadel new washes are bad.

    1:25 = It's like a *_KETCHUP_*_ Bottle:*_ if you take it out of the fridge after sitting there right-side up for a few days+, all the material will, because of gravity, sink to the bottom; so, you need to *_SHAKE_*_ It_ & give Gravity a chance to pull the paint towards the nozzle.
    (▶3:31 * Also, try _Not _*_PRESSING_* the nozzle *_Against_* the Wet Pallet when trying to extract paint; you're *_Blocking_*_ the _*_Paint_* from coming out by doing this M8. Good Luck;-)
    (P.S. in terms of saving paint w/ less wastage: these dropper btls are still Miles above CITADEL Paints)
    Wait, _What?_ NinJon's face on a Paint Box? What'll they cook up next (??)

      I suppose not filming myself shaking the bottle could give you the impression that I didn't shake it at all. As for pressing it against my pallet, at what point did I end up pressing the bottle flat against the pallet? cx
      I also don't believe I ever said the citadel ones were any better, lotta' assumptions you're tossing my way. I think these are quality paints, but after more time using them since this video, I feel pretty firm about my thoughts on the bottles c:

  • @robertwilder4953
    @robertwilder4953 Před 5 měsíci +2

    Great paint... love working with it... but yes... the bottles suck. The tops and stiffness of the bottles make getting paint out difficult. I generally end up squeezing too hard and getting too much paint. And the cloudiness of the bottle prevents seeing the true color of the paint. I like the new clear Vallejo Game Color bottles. Pro Acryl would be perfect with some changes to the bottles. You can buy the flip top lids... which I have... but why should I have to pay extra to fix the issue with the top. The fact that Monument offers these tops is telling that others have complained of the same issue.

    I use Vallejo Air as my benchmark for comparing other paints. So, is Pro Acryle superior to Vallejo Air from my perspective? Unfortunately not as I too had high hopes for this paint having heard only good things about it. The bottles are horrible, they don't mix well with my Vallejo air paints & they struggle to go through my airbrush. I mostly paint scale models & thought they could be good for painting Earth tones on bases as they have a nice bright colour pallet & the bottles are 22ml vs Vallejo Air 17ml, but I struggled so much that I just ended up using my more expensive Vallejo Air paints.

    I hear you on those bottles. I transfered a bunch of paint to that style and I totally hate it. These bottles are pretty good for washes, flow mediums and anything you might use in an airbrush but suck on palettes. I use Delta Ceramcoat for mass terrain painting and their "dropper" style bottles are great. I rinse them out and use them for the more thick paints and custom colors.
