  • Take a journey with us on the 42-mile thru-hike at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, from Grand Marais to Munising. In this first part, we embark from the Visitor Center and backpack 8.5 miles to the Au Sable Campground. Get cozy and take in the sights and sounds of Michigan's spectacular Upper Peninsula, and one jaw dropping trail.

Pictured Rocks is such a treasure… Thank you for sharing this, definitely looking forward to the rest of the series. My brother and I were about 3 weeks behind you. Honestly, I cannot wait to go back. Such an amazing place! Thanks again, and looking forward to the next one!

Easily one of our favorite trips so far! We also can’t wait to go back, though my wife wants to add on an extra day so that day 2 isn’t 16 miles haha. Probably stay an extra night at Trappers Lake between Au Sable & Coves

I really is! The views are stunning the entire way, not much else like it in Michigan 😊

Excellent video. I didn't appreciate Michigan has so many amazing places to hike and camp. And there doesn't seem to be anyone around, it's like you have the whole place to yourselves! The sunset at the end is gorgeous! Look forward to watching the rest of the 42-mile adventure!

Thank you so much for watching my video Thomas! I really appreciate your comments. Michigan truly does have some beautiful places, most of the West coast of the state is full of gorgeous dunes, some of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen were in Sleeping Bear Dunes and Arcadia. The UP is also full of wonderful surprises from Paradise to Munising to Copper Harbor.
