How Much Money I spent on Repairs in 2021 - E92 M3

- A 9 year old E92 M3 with only 35,000 miles can also have some surprises. However, 2021 was more than 6x more expensive, per mile, compared to the previous years I had the car. I wanted to make this video about the expenses I incurred in 2021, and why it is important to be prepared for anything to happen. Lots of big fixes all at once, whereas the past few years have been tragically inexpensive to run the car, it was flawless. Happy Car Shopping!!

Interesting! I spent the same amount of money this year in one service for my E90 in the Bay. Ended up doing Rod bearings, new battery, front lip install, brake flush, reseal DCT leaks and fix valve cover gaskets.
The total cost was: $ Emotional Damage
The repairs are all worth it if you can drive a masterpiece like this 🔥🔥
Best m3 owner hope this year treats you well
Been waiting for a new video from you since a long time!!
Mike is a real one for that. No one does that 🤙🏽😎
The colour of this car is unbelievable 😍😍
Thank you for nice videos everytime. Im considering to have one soon🧐
Thanks for the insight. Super informational 💪🏾
My 2011 throttle actuators went out at 33,8xx last year as well... my shop was extremely surprised at the early failure. Unlucky, however glad its over with.
Cheers to having a great 2022 with minimal issues!
I love those headlights bro!
I've found that throttle actuator failure depends on how the person drives. Using the DCT at max setting and lots of downshifts seems to make them die early.
Great video dude
Looks amazing
Man your bmw is just beautiful.
Great video
I have a BMW and man I’ve done 3 oil changes so far in under 10 months of ownership. I have a 2015 428i. I run AMSOIL ever since the last oil change.
Thank you for this video. In future im deciding between an M340i or M3. B58 vs S68. So torn lol
tbh thats a good amount of money spent on the car , u got big things out the way , u prob got some major fixes coming up in 30k miles but other than that ur chilling , prob just brakes and oil change
Beautiful car!
is there 1200 including labor, like you did with the rod bearing total ? because the my actuators went and the cheapest ones i can find were 600 for each one.
Your car looks great. I'm getting issues after hitting a pothole at 80 mph on California's well maintained freeways. I think I jarred the connections to the intercooler as it lost power and said to reduce speed. Seems to have gone away, but I'm sure I've gotta take it in... Uggggg
Where did you do your rod bearings? Want to do mine as preventative maintenance as well in the next 5k miles
how do you know the throttle actuators went out?
What headlights are those dude, they are gorgeous!
You should make some merch bro enjoy the POV drives 😎🔥
I like the idea of getting an e90 M3 sedan. But I really keep my eyes on the e91 wagons. Something about this body style just looks too good as a wagon to ignore.
I’m looking into a hardtop convertible e92 m3 to go along with my Kia stinger since their the cheapest ones out there. Either that or an e92 335i
Formidable M3 Grand fan😉🇵🇹🇺🇸
what inch wheels does he have on his bmw e92?
Love this bro, this is really helpful and sets my expectations when getting this car because I do plan on getting my e92 end of this year or sooner so it’s great to know what I’m getting into! Is Insurance anything to crazy? I’m 24 in the state of Florida. Another thing is since I’m saving up what price range would you think is applicable?
Cheapest one I've seen is a 2012 black k on red 100k in Boca Raton 24500
Most expensive I've seen is 1 owner 2013 with 30k for 38000
@@bmw1244 they cheaper in europe with less miles
I've never seen the e92 M3 in titanium color as beautiful as your car. Beautiful body, wheels, nice exhaust, and a good downshift! I want you to record the sounds near Tips with GoPro!
Take away the rod bearings and that’s only about 3900 bucks. Thats really good. Especially for an E9X. S65’s didn’t have the rod bearing issue as much as the 85’s did. Still, good on you for doing the work to ensure that car would not have that problem in the future.
$3900 for 5k miles / 1 year is "really good" ?? :D
@@Tom-fn8xc for how this guy drives, yeah, it is.
@@Tom-fn8xc true but I drive worse and bought mines with 61k and put 20k miles and spent 2k for 2021. I'm at 85k miles rn
Who did you rod bearings ?
Half of the problems you mentioned isn't your m3s problems.
The only problem for me are the throttle actuators.notneven the rod bearings because maybe you had another 30k miles to do.
So a very reliable and good looking masterpiece....///M power..
damn that’s beautiful
didnt do much with my 2008 e90 m3. Most are tires and oil changes are 12,000 miles at bmw deaership. Plugs are done at 70k miles. Rod bearings dont seem to be going out yet.
You change oil once a year??
Where did you go to get the rod bearings done? I’m in NorCal but I’m willing to go to SoCal if it’s viable
you should go to performance dynamic. they're not that cheap these days, upped the hourly rate but they usually bill less hours than other shops. most important part that it's probably the most reputable shop in the bay right now. you'll get a lot of recs for it in norcal bmw groups.
Pretty okay
I bought a e92 320i
With 90k miles
I drove
32k km in
5 months
Payed
3790euro
Timing chain included
With allot of other things ofc
What part of Northern California are you from?
Please do another video for the gas consumption.
Gosh e92 m3 is my fav bmw... the time i can afford it , its gonna be oldtimer xD
do the gas consumption video!!!
Do u have a daily?
i have a 06 330i that i wanna fix so bad
How many smiles per mile though :)
Price to replace the rod bearings is really really good. In Texas it’s about 5k…
I think you may be getting ripped off. Here in NY it's about 2200-2800 last I checked with a local indepdent shop. Texas shops cannot charge double what NY and Cali charges assuming all else being equal.
Is this a dealership?
@@Dylan-gr2vm No it's not. I asked two indy one quoted me 5.5k and the other one was 5k. I've seen some bills at your price on bringatralier but not lucky enough for me to get them😂
Would you have these maintenance expenses if you don’t push the car to the max? I understand it’s a performance car. Looking to buy one, but want to drive normal daily
Might as well go get a 328i
i daily drive mine, have already replaced the starter, one of the actuators, spark plugs, oil change and all four tires in 6 months, just a tad over $3k in maintenance
Let me ask you this...since you've done all this maintenance, have you had any other major repairs?
I take my 2002 Camry too work so i can save miles on my e92m3
Wow, I spent the same amount on maintenance and repairs on my 981 cayman s last year. Wasn’t expecting it to be that much for a bmw.
i spent $26,000 CAD in 9 months on repairs on my e60 M5.
How much did you pay for the car? and how long did you search for it, because it a great spec with low miles?
He has a video about that
what oil change is $250?🤯
I got my rod bearings done this last year and I’m currently on the fence to do throttle actuators but I am very curious to know how long they will last lol I guess we’ll see
Hope we all have a happy and successful 2022!
OEM/OE TAs seem to last ~50kmiles
M power Motorsports sells Rebuilt TAs with upgraded parts with a lifetime warranty
Mine lasted about 60-65k miles. Find a reliable 3rd party replacer to do it, it will save you a small fortune, it’s not a super hard job.
I had no idea you were running full E85, what are the power gains like with E85?
He’s N/a so not much gain
i got a track built m3. i think i am at around 6.50/mi lmao . These cars do be expensive
You to to Cañada college?
250 for an oil change? why is it so costly in the states?
It takes special oil I believe 10w60. It’s not cheap. Normal oil change on regular engines is around $100
@@FishFind3000 it’s not that special trust me. I have an M3 as well and price for oil/filter is less than $110
i almost bought an m3 because of ur vid's but then i found a m135i 6speed manual rwd with only 7000km on it, i love the apperence of the m3 but i couldnt take the risk since all the m3's here are so high milage hehe
And thats why i bought a f80
Why not repair all the parts yourself or with a friend? You'd save an insane amount
B8.5 s4. Still on the edge between that an e92 m3
6k bruh
Actually not that bad 🤔
Put this car back to OEM+. Too many rice mods.
35K? Did you time travel? Tf
All you had to do is warm the engine up before driving it and your rod bearings will last over 100k miles. I hope a new buyer see this reply so they don’t do what this person did for not knowing how these cars work. I have 73k on mine with no issues. These are very sensitive cars that need to be pampered a little. Do your research before you buy one and you will love the car. Clueless people like him should not buy one.
I got jerez black metallic E92 M3 coupe 2008. 70 000 already and rod bearings are fine. My throttle actuators were exchanged. My car runs excellent.
now, what do you do for work to afford all dat
$250 for a oil change who tf pays that much
you replaced all this stuff but it prolly dint have no gas init
Did you seriously just make a video on how much money you spent in a year maintaining the car, but not put a fucking total cost at the end? The fuck is the point of that
did you graduate from high school? grab a calculator
dang, should've watched the video! maybe someone can give you a timestamp 🙂
🤣🤣
everyone else found the total cost no problem, right? Must've been cause they watched the video
The grand total is towards the middle of the video not the end. I would time stamp it for you but I'd rather you rewatch the whole thing and be patient.
