    Derivation of the formula for finding the Margin of Error
    n=N/(1+Ne^2)
    n(1+Ne^2)=N
    1+Ne^2= N/n
    Ne^2= (N/n)-1
    e^2= [(N/n)-1]/N
    e= sqrt{[(N/n)-1]/N}
    You may counter check my formula by providing some values. To reiterate, you may or may not distribute the "n"
    There will be some instances that there will be two or more formulas that will give the same value e.g. Ordinary Annuity. You may try to google it. There are three formulas or may be more if there is. If you are in doubt, you may send me an Email.

      Pwede naman, kaso dapat iyong sample mo malaki rin. Kaso kapag sobrang laki na ng population, hindi na ganoon kalaki ang sample size.

    It is ok to increase the margin of error? Instead of using 5% margin error I will make it to 10% to have a lower sample size?

    • @mathandlanguagebyjamesjuni
      @mathandlanguagebyjamesjuni  Před 2 lety

      The margin of error is a guide on how accurate your answer will be. The lower the margin error, the more accurate it will be.
      And yes, it will affect the sample size also, if you will make it higher like 10%, it will have a lower sample size.

      Actually, I am struggling on getting my target sample size response. I already extended my data collection still I have very low survey response that is why I wanted to increase to 10℅ my margin of error to decrease the number of sample size.

  • @hernandezjanborged.1970

    For clarification lang. Mali po yung formula. Mali po yung checking pag ganan yung formula. Dapat po dinestribute nyo po yung n sa 1+Ne^2, then magiging n+Nne^2=N tapos ililipat yung n from left side to the right side para ma-isolate yung e so magiging Nne^2=N-n, then divide both side by Nn para maiwan yung e, so magiging e^2=N-n/Nn. Since naka squared pa yung margin of error kelangan natin i-square both side para macancel sya. So the formula for the margin of error is e=√N-n/Nn. Try nyo pong I-compare yung formula by executing both formulas tas check nyo nalang kung alin yung match dun sa sample size.. hehehe

    • @mathandlanguagebyjamesjuni

      Hi upon checking both of our formulas are correct. You may or may not distribute iyong "n"
      n=N/(1+Ne^2)
      n(1+Ne^2)=N
      1+Ne^2= N/n
      Ne^2= (N/n)-1
      e^2= [(N/n)-1]/N
      e= sqrt{[(N/n)-1]/N}
      You may counter check my formula by providing some values. To reiterate, you may or may not distribute the "n" Lastly, both of our formulas are correct.

    • @mathandlanguagebyjamesjuni
      @mathandlanguagebyjamesjuni  Před 3 lety +2

      Galing siya sa formula ng sample size
      Slovin's formula for sample size:
      n= N/(1+Ne^2)
      Derive natin para makuha si "e"
      n(1+Ne^2)=N
      (1+Ne^2)=N/n
      Ne^2=(N/n)-1
      e^2= [(N/n)-1]/N
