So originally Greek, Roman, Norse, Hindu, and many other pantheons in that area descend for the same Proto-IndoEuropean religion, but separated by centuries and mixing with different local religions made them all distinctly different. For example, Zeus, Jupiter, Tyr, and Dyauspitr descend from the same "sky father" deity, but over time and mixing they ended up with very different roles in their respective pantheon (for example Tyrs role in surviving Norse myth is basically nonexistent, with Odin/Thor becoming the chief deity)
What became the Roman pantheon was at one point distinctly different from Greek, however the Greeks and Romans practiced Interpretatio graeca/romana, which meant they believed other people worshiped the same gods but under different names. Because of how close Rome and Greece are they conflated theirs the most, however they also did this to the Norse, Egyptian and even Jewish deities too. That's why the days of the week are named after Norse gods + Saturn. They thought Hermes, Mercury, Thoth and Oden were equivalents, and in Latin one day of the week is "dies Mercurii" so when translating it they substituted the equivalent gods, in this case "dies Mercurii" became Odens/Wodens Day > Wednesday.
As for Neptune and Poseidon we don't know for sure about their origins. It's believed that Neptune may have originally been a freshwater deity which would make sense coming from an inland Proto-IndoEuropean culture. On the other hand (and take this may with a grain of salt cause we really don't know) the Greeks claimed Poseidon was adopted into the Greek pantheon from "Ancient Libya" (which to the Greeks meant all of known Africa west of Egypt), they made this same claim about a few of their deities like Anthea too. And because they conflated their deities Neptune started to take on Poseidons ocean deity elements.
What does this have to do with their depictions in Spondgebob? Absolutely nothing, but it is a topic I know a little about so I thought I'd share.
Actually HELIOS is the Greek god of the sun, but Apollo is more well known

Thanks man!!
If you're a fan of ARG's, than that should explain some things.
I do believe that the first movie takes place at the end of the series but I don’t believe the movie Neptune is Triton. I think that king might be a descendant of Triton and that he was so bad that Neptune downgraded him and his descendants to be just kings or queens instead of gods
The Movie Neptune doesn't have powers either, he out of shape and only used his Triton just like King Poseidon. While in episode Clash of Triton, Neptune's son Triton, is be ripped just like Neptune, and also used his powers without technology to cause damage the Bikini Bottom.
