@@Gervanie I remember getting Mario and Luigi Bowser's Inside Story DS where I always spent hours reading the instructions booklet. I miss the golden days. Now everything is sad, depressing and boring.
I do legitimately miss having instruction booklets. I still remember reading the instruction book for melee while on the way back home from town back in the day. They were fun and had lore about the characters and stages.
I remember when I got a switch, they were only two games that I had that had something similar to an instruction booklet One of them was *Worlds end club* , with a book about the story, and character bios. And the other was *DDLC +* , I'm pretty sure most people knew what was in there
I actually spent hours looking at the papers that advertised other 3ds games in box for 3ds games. Although I don't know if those types of papers were in other regions. I bought them in France.
Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Ultimate Edition for the Nintendo Switch has a manual, Disney Classics Game Collection also has a manual but for that one it’s random.
Although it is a little sad the reasons for manuals back then was because games needed a way to teach you about controls and mechanics. As time moved on things got standardized, designers got more crafty, and games started including tutorials all of these tools are just more efficient at being your manual.
That's great to hear that you have a collection of DS games that you can revisit! Sometimes we get caught up in new games or technology and forget about the games we once enjoyed.
Me and all the friends I hung out never EVER read those, usually we just threw them away. I feel like one person on the internet said they did that so everyone started saying that
i actually do remembers these even though i am 11 i used to read all of them when i was like 3-5 but then they removed them when i was getting new games like Kirby 3d all stars-
The hype that used to go to the Instruction manual now goes to the exclusive artbook from the special edition. Not quite the same, not every game gets it, and it costs a premium price, but man, there's some cool stuff in those art books. Seriously though, I think game companies have always underestimated the marketing potential of instruction manuals. You could just hand those out like brochures and get people wanting to buy the games! I used to read instruction manuals for games I'd never touched as a kid and it would sometimes make me want to play the game right then and there!

Words cannot explain how accurate you were with this clip... I too feel that, im sad that nowadays we spend our hard earned money only to see we get NOTHING but the case and game and warranty slip :(
Agreed. They should keep them manual book. Beside, Manual book is very important for a young gamer like next generation kids especially his or her first tried either Nintendo, Sony Playstation or Xbox game.
I’m pretty sure the best part of getting a game is the game itself and not the manual because at that point you’re just getting a game without the game
At least each 3DS game comes with a digital manual so you never have to worry about losing it. The switch on the other hand has nothing at all as usual.

My copy of Rayman 3D for the 3DS had a manual. I guess you just have to be lucky and pick the right box.
