  • One on side, we have a Grammy-nominated electronic producer who has used an original Minimoog for nearly two decades. On the other, a rising star of the beat community who sculpts drums and basslines from VST and hardware clones. Together with one vintage Model D and one brand new Model D Reissue, they share their music-making processes and create something new. Learn more on Reverb News: bit.ly/3ERbxfQ

      They sound nearly identical. If you did a blind test, you most likely couldn’t determine which was which. When Behringer does a copy of analog equipment, they’re usually spot on. You’d be better starting out with a Poly D than investing 5k in what is basically a collector’s item. Also, the Poly D is a more capable synth. I’m not saying the Minimoog reissue is bad, I’m just saying you can get that sound for MUCH cheaper than 5k.

    • @crime_wavcorp

      @@Docdaman4 i gotta say, when i play on the prophet 10, part of what i admire is the build quality of it. there's something to be said for that. is that worth 4 or 5k? ehhh i don't know bout that. i guess if i was planning on passing it down to my boy, possibly. i know it would hold value at the least.

      @Docdaman4 Před rokem +1

      @@crime_wavcorp Oh yeah, the reissue definitely looks/feels/plays better than a Poly D. I mean, for the price it fucking better! But with the extra oscillator, built in Juno-style chorus, built in distortion, and the ability to play paraphonically, the Poly D is a more capable and (I’m gonna say it) better sounding synth

    Paying 6000 eu for a mono synth is madness. Non-gluttons from Asheville don't know how much to ask for it anymore. you can always get a moog one 8 for that money and it has not only these same sounds - but also much more!!!! You are crazy!!!

    I am really considering selling my Prophet 5 and OB-6 to get this. It's just a simple instrument that can give you a ton of sounds. Way more my style of instrument. Awesome video!

      Why dont you just get a Bahringer Poly D? I have there Monopoly sounds great, the units good quality nice and heavy knobs feel nice. $450 for there Poly D or Monopoly is great.

      @@HOLLASOUNDS I have a poly D. Sounds great! Probably sounds just like a Minimoog but it has no soul. I'll probably keep my p5 and ob6 they are amazing. I'm on the list @Sweetwater for the Minimoog 2022!

      @@analogalex3103 Has no Sole? What gives the real Moog its sole then? This sythersizor is way overpriced and just taking advantage of legacy, other sythersizors of theres of a similar size and function are less then £1000.

      @@HOLLASOUNDS All vintage equipment and well everything is overpriced. An original minimoog is $10k plus and the 2016 reissue is over $5k. The poly d sounds amazing but the moog is a work of art. Looks amazing and is incredibly well built. Nothing against behringer I have a bunch of there stuff. I just don’t care much for behringer stuff. Doesn’t mean as much to me. Behringers remakes sound amazing but they don’t hold any value or collectibility. I like to stare at my gear as much as using it. There’s certain pieces I want to be original. 🤘😁🤘

    I wonder though, when already using so many plugins ITB, how much of a difference does it makes to use a Moog D vs an ITB emulation?

      If you want hardware sythersizor then buy Behringer Poly D a very good sounding Minimoog copy.

      I do it both ways and have all of the vsts, and still I feel a lot more inspired by actually touching them. This video is a huge example of why as well.

      The endless creativity and inspiration you get by interacting with hardware like this can’t really be emulated with a VST, great as they are.
