FYI if you’re loading a temporary seed phrase that also has a passphrase be aware that the ColdCard applies the passphrase to your MAIN seedphrase and NOT the temporary one. Just in case you’re wondering why your fingerprint isn’t matching lol. Apparently, when the CC shows you the wrong fingerprint you need to scroll down and hit the number “2” so that the CC knows to apply the passphrase to your temporary seedphrase and not your main one. Lucky for me I have a SeedSigner as well and was able to confirm that the info I was entering was indeed correct. The CC just wasn’t making it clear that you needed to scroll down and hit “2”

You're doing a great job Ben! Coldcard is still quite unpopular and requires more commitment and learning than other cold wallets, and your tutorials are irreplaceable. I also appreciate them very much for their very high quality and professionalism.

5:22 you say the current version is 5.0.7 but it's actually 5.2.0, 5.0.7 is the 2022 version that they came installed with. That hung me up for a while, might want to put an annotation there.
Thanks for an excellent video! One thing that I'm confused about is the temporary seed. Can't you just store the hot wallet seeds (and generate Bip85 seeds), without using a temporary seed?
Good question! Yes if you are creating the wallet from scratch then just use bip85. However, if you have a pre existing wallet that you don't want to change, you can add a backup of that seed onto you Coldcard stored in your seed vault. The main difference with a "temporary seed" is that if you remove it, the only way to put it back is to manually re-enter it. You can't recover it with bip85 because it has no relation to your master seed.
perfect for making several secure wallets to put some sats on.. then stamp the seed words into metal washers and give it as gift, or a challenge for nocoiners :)

The screen of the ColdCard mk4 blink a lot here, but don't worry people, it's only because of the camera recording. The ColdCard mk4 screen looks perfectly normal when using it :)
