When a guy asks you why you're still single you say "Because I want to be". And then you can add "at least for now" with a cute smirk. Anything else is going to show a lack of confidence and sadly that's because a lot of women have a lack of confidence.
i wud say women nowadays not so much as lack confidence but are upfront about their shortcomings....unlike men who think they the king of the jungle even when they are just a nobody :P

But you know, maybe it's an oppurtunity to show him, not just how much you love him, but how important he can be to others. It's always a good way to boost the self-esteem of others. Make him feel special and show his ex that the bitch made a mistake of letting him go. Some people think that only women love to be showed off or given compliments, but as a man, it's not just masculine compliments that turns me on because I know in myself that I'm not that masculine and I don't want to pretend to be (very important to accept yourself before getting into a relationship.) In other words, you know, treat him special if you want him to treat you special and I'm 80% sure that if you do treat him special, he will see you more than just a rebound. :)

So basically he means stay away from negativity. And the polite thing to do when complimented is to say thank you.
