Honestly both are dope, but personally I would go with the '09s just because I like more of a sleeker look. Whereas the '16s just seem boxier. I'd pay a little more for the '09s for the minimal look on the patent.

the 72-10 js look like the 09 space james.just glitter in certain lightings and a red jumpman.i like the 16 more than the 09's
To me, the 72-10 was like a mix of the Space Jam and Bred lol.
It would've also been PERFECT if they combined the elements from both shoes 2009: 23 on the back heel (but stitched instead of printed, and black outlining on the patent leather with no peaks 2016: High patent leather, blue tinted outsole, and Nike air branding on the insole I guess that equals the 2000 space jam 11s lol

Years ago I noticed how OG heads would talk about how the retro 11s have a weird shoe shape compared to the OG version. Comparing the two, I concur. The '09 pair has this odd banana shape to it and the low patent leather cut looks funny to me now. Only thing I wish the '16 pair had is the shade of blue the '09 jumpman has. Other than that, I believe the '16 pair is better. No hype, just personal opinion.
I appreciate your feedback. Yes I love the higher cut patent leather I think it looks good. As for the Blue, I don't dislike it and I see a lot of people love it.
I wish you could combine the 2.. I like everything on the 16 from the Nike inside to the higher patten to the blue icy bottom, but I wish it had the varsity blue logos and the varsity blue logo on the bottom vs the white logo on the bottom of the 16.
I think that would have been dope to be honest.

Dope review fam. Personally I passed on the 16's. Dope shoe but OG or not , that Patent leather is too high for me. I like the lower cut better and the "23" better but that's me. I will say I like how the "45" is stitched in tho. That part is dope. But either way, dope and classic shoe

How come there isnt significant darker yellowing around the outline of the pads on the soles of this 2009 pair? The yellowing shade is quite even on the whole sole but i was told if there isnt darker yellowing around the paids of the outline they’re a fake pair?
The Higher patented leather cut is so Nice , especially when looking down on the birds eye view. I use to own a pair in 96' in high school and I'm glad they look legit to the true form. All these lil gits that haven't even seen a whole regular season of Jordan playing, got them use to these retros shapes but I like keeping the integrity of the original shape and quality because that leather isn't just higher but it's a Better, thicker quality if you do your research or just have good vision to see that. Blue tint on the sole is so much better than colorless. These are Fresh to Def ,just don't buy them if you don't like them. More for us true OG's that know why these sneakers mean something to us, other than hype beast type mentality out there.

I love the higher cut of the patent leather as well! Glad I'm not the only one lol I'd definitely choose the 2016. It just looks like a more substantial shoe and looks like it would last a lot longer. Since I plan on wearing them A LOT, I'm glad they look durable.

Seems like we think alike! Others I saw are embracing the higher cut patent as well.
Both have their great features and positives. Don't really see negatives unless referring to the '23' and '45' I guess preference. I managed to get the 2016 pair and would have given up if I had failed cuz when all those unauthorized and grey market pair of space jams with icy soles came out I knew once they yellowed they would be quite difficult to tell apart. Anyway getting off subject great vid.

*For me I love the OG more. But this is one of the 3 in my opinion is a must have for the year. If I had only known that ppl keeps their old Jordan's I would have some OGs to compare myself. We in Trinidad beat the hell out them and throw them away. Dope review bro. I'm getting 2 pairs. And my reason for the OG is that's what I wore back in the day. Save out money for months before and after they release to cop them. My mother and family asking if I'm mad to wear such an expensive shoe. And yea in Trinidad you will get robbed or killed in certain places. This shoe back then was $2500. Now it's $3800. And they don't stay on shelves for long. O9s are nice but the soles always throw me off I personally love the 16 s with the concord and purple soles. And I never got a chance to own a pair of 00s so it's nice to get a retro for them

to me the 2016 pair looks more classic. if you notice in the 90's when Jordan 11's was released with the patented leather was always higher than newer release jordan 11's these days. I really wish I can get my hands on the 2016 space jams. too dope

dope comparison👍I don't know like you sed their both dope but I do know something both retros are missing an that is the jumpman jam on the tongue like my 2000 pair instead of jumpman Jordan an to be honest I really don't consider the 2016 pair spacejams because of the 45 these are MJs PEs from the 1995-96 playoffs vs.the 23 which are the spacejams.

2016s would've been perfect except they should have 23 instead of 45. I know when MJ first came out of retirement he switched to #45 for a bit, but 23 is synonymous with him.

09 is still the best imo. back in the day if your shoes have features like high cut on leather, snout toe box, widows peaks and boxy carbon fiber they would call your pair a FAKE. lol..now JB is feeding us with this. for me i'm used to the 09 shape and its features. them 16's just look weird to me. they still look like oversize GS. will just have to pass. will just get the my kids their pair. That is very true..I remember those days...Those were ways to spot fakes out. They are a bit bulky, I do admit that. I don't mind it, but something I noticed. Appreciate the compliment.

Cant complain with JB. Quality has gotten slightly better than the 2011-15 years, and they have been coming through with true to og Jordans. Excited to get this pair this time around but those 09 11s were too clean!

The only 2016 AJ 11 THAT WAS MADE WITH THE ORIGINAL MOLD WAS THE 72-10 AIR JORDAN WITH THE LOWCUT PADNET LEATHER !
I own both versions, I prefer the lower patent cut of the 2009, makes the shoe sleeker and less bulky but the quality on the 2016 is better

Those laces are Net laces and that paten leather cut is so much nicer on the OG 16s but them peaks is kinda bunk
People don't like the peaks..I don't mind them but they could have went without and I wouldn't mind.

I got the 2016 release from Nike on the day of the release. Once I got them I really dislike the high patent leather. I have the bred 11s, the lower leather when it creases it doesn't look bad. Once the high patent leather creases on the 16 pair it'll look really bad because it'll be long. I'm going to sell them..
