      I LIVE here and I AGREE!!
      Californias (collectively) are just not that intelligent when it comes to being (truly) informed white voting!!! IT IS RIDICULOUS the things they vote in while assuming they are "learned"!!
      They JUST voted in a "homeless" proposal that will have us paying back $300,000,000. for the next 30 years! THIRTY YEARS!!!!!!
      All so that THE STATE, ITSELF (who can currently NOT account for $20 billion dollars of previous funds for homelessness) can receive some. To use for what???
      Your guess would be as good as mine!!! 🤨
      And for the record?
      I DID NOT vote in favor of Proposition 1!!! (Or the ridiculous "no bail bond" matter, the decriminalization of crimes, lowering thefts below a certain dollar amount from a misdemeanor to a felony, etc.)
      I live here and while I feel sorrow for those of us who continue to suffer for the foolish votes of others, we are in the minority.
      If there are any victims?
      It isn't the overwhelmingly number of Californians who vote with their eyes and minds shut but those of us who vote intelligently but cannot leave. 😞

    None of these measures will come even close to balancing the budget. They need to get rid of the pensions in CA. We cannot afford them. Go to the 401k like the rest of the working stiffs. For those 40 yo with a state pension, it’s unlikely you will ever see the full amount.

    Just in case people are not clear on what happens in government agencies. State (in this case) agencies get a budget for the amount of costs they have for the year, including open positions. They also have to keep spending their full budget each year to retain the ability to get the money, so at the end of the fiscal year they have to burn any savings they may have created. Its a very wasteful system and should be overhauled completely. There are a number of other ways they could reduce spending, but its insanely political to make big changes in how govt does things.

    • @mistresskeke
      @mistresskeke Před měsícem +2

      Departments don't have to burn the extra money in their budget at the end of the year. Management does that because they are greedy & even tho they may have ran their department just fine with less money, they feel more important the bigger their budget is. A small budget feels like a demotion to them, thats why they waste surplus funds at the end of the year, so they can justify current levels of budget allocations the next year.
