Extreme Victorian House Renovation

This project involved turning the existing single-story cottage into a spacious, contemporary, double-story home for a growing young family, while respecting and restoring the heritage-listed Victorian frontage of the home.
Lonsdale Building Group created a functional, and spacious extension to the existing floorplan, by adding a first floor containing two large bedrooms, a rumpus, a bathroom with a bath, and a work from home/study area.
On the Ground floor, the master bedroom was kept in its original Victorian form and extended with WIR and ensuite. From there, walls were removed to create space to house an open kitchen and living area, a butler's pantry, a separate powder room, an inner courtyard, and outdoor decking for entertaining, with access through large double glass sliding doors. The new space supports the family’s love for the outdoors, with a mudroom and a storage shed to house their bikes and outdoor sporting gear.
