    Nothing makes me happier than to hear comments like yours about my country (Bahrain). Just like any other country in the world, Bahrain is not perfect, but surely it is one of the few that is trying to cater for many residents with different cultural background despite the challenges of it's geographical location and strong religious and political influences. Welcome to Bahrain and hope you have a good time and feel like home.

    On the EXACT same path, I needed to see this today! I don't deal with uncertainty well, but your videos have been a light in the muddle of my decision! 3 years out, are you still happy with your choice, especially leaving your career? That has been the biggest mental obstacle for me!

      Hello, Kat! Thank you so much for the kind feedback and for watching! My heart is full to know my story can give you a bit of ease about the big life changes you have coming up. How exciting for you!! And to answer your question, I 1000% have no regrets. Life is still shape-shifting and evolving, however, more so on my own terms, which feels liberating. I also have never been a fan of uncertainty and haven’t always made the right decisions in the past haha, but at that point in my life, I felt an urge to just jump and haven’t looked back. ☺️ What I thought would be my be-all-end-all career at the time actually wasn’t. Traveling and life abroad in general open my career cone a lot wider, with different opportunities in mind, so I wouldn’t worry. Living abroad fundamentally changed me and made me realize that jobs come and go. The universe often rewards courage and risk, so sending good vibes your way! You got this! 💯

    Hello again, I’m so happy to hear where you’ve moved to, I’ve been to Dubai, it is really the best of that area, it’s where East meets West meaning you’ve got the best part of the country, I would live or moved to Dubai, now I’m looking forward to you showing all of us Bahrain, your new home. Enjoy.
    Sandra.

      Thank you so much, Mari!! Wow 4 years is a long time! I recently just left Bahrain, but I enjoyed my time there very much. Yes, it was difficult to leave. However, I feel as though I found a new family during my time spent there. I’ll always treasure my time there. ☺️

    I'm an ESL teacher & wasn't interested in Dubai because although you get a 'next-to' tax free salary "everything" was reported as being to friggin' expensive & it being illegal to have a girlfriend. Pretty much. What's the cost of living like?

    • @illustratedbySade
      @illustratedbySade  Před 5 lety +1

      Dubai is actually pretty awesome and a bit more progressive than Bahrain. Both countries are really nice. Bahrain is probably a tad bit more expensive because costs are inflated here. Rent in the capital of Manama could run you anywhere between $1700-$2200 USD for a 2b/2b, which isn’t too far off from places like my hometown, Miami. Food prices are bit higher bc the conversion is expensive from dollars. Gas is super cheap. But overall, I’ve really enjoyed living in the Middle East, with the exception of the summer heat LOL. 😆 I’m not sure about legality of dating. I’m married so I’m removed from the dating sphere haha but I see couples all the time living as I normally would, especially in Dubai. Dubai kind of reminds me Las Vegas in a sense. Hmm...If that is the case, it doesn’t appear to me to be that way, but that’s really interesting. I’d say you should go for it and experience it for yourself. 😊

      Hi, Adeyemo! 👋🏽 thanks for watching! I’m sure you’re right. Most people I know move there bc they’re jobs send them there for a short time. Not sure what the job market is like unless you already have a job coming in. I imagine it’s quite tough. Best of luck to you!
