What makes the Bears’ QB ineptitude even more embarrassing (or funny if you’re a Packers fan) is that Jordan Love threw for more passing yards and more TDs in his first season as a starter than any Bears QB in any season ever (and they are the oldest NFL franchise).

My perspective on da Bears failing so much is to ask the court to consider that in 2018 the 9-6-1 Steelers saw a waning Big Ben throw for 5000 yards. It was an obvious anomaly for a gunslinger QB to be paired with a dismal rushing attack and being told to just sling it every play and hope. And, well, these things happen.
But apparently not in Chicago. Where they get this Justin Fields guy, who is raw but talented, and even in the mire of lost seasons they never once thought to say "Just throw some bombs".
The Bears are the oldest franchise to stay where they were founded. Packers were founded just one year later. Packers have more championships and wins now. The Bears need to get it together. People have forgotten about 73-0. It was too long ago.

I don't know if this counts as anomalous, but one of my favorite stats: Drew Brees has the most consecutive games with a passing touchdown at 54, and also the fifth-most at 45. Those two streaks are separated by a single game, @ Atlanta on November 29th, 2012 (A Thursday night primetime game in which Brees threw 5 INTs). Had he thrown a pass TD in that game, his streak would be at exactly 100, absolutely eclipsing Brady's second-most 52.
For a true anomaly: The Colts haven't beaten the Jags in Jacksonville since 2014 - they're 0-9 in Jacksonville since then (@ Jacksonville was played in London in 2016).
And for a third stat: Latavius Murray ran for a touchdown in London in two separate games in the same season, before the Jaguars started playing two London games. In 2022, he scored one with the Saints in week 4, then was signed by the Broncos and scored another in week 8 (that was when Russell Wilson did high-knees on the plane).
Bonus weird stat: The Bills played the Patriots in New England in week 16 for five straight seasons, 2017-2021.
Bills played the Pats week 18 in 2022 and scored two kickoff return touchdowns, then played them week 17 last year with the first play of the game also being a kickoff touchdown this time for the Pats. In both games, the next series for each side was a three and out ending in a sack for the QB. In 2024, the Bills will play the Pats again, week 16.

The Bills always have the weirdest schedules. I always go to Bills-Niners games. It's been a million years since The Bills played The Niners in Buffalo. The Bills also play The Chiefs EVERY season and until this year that game was in Kansas City EVERY year!!!
Here's an extremely obscure NFL statistic most individuals would never look up, but I did because I really like it.
According to the Gridiron Uniform Database, the Green Bay Packers played 57 consecutive seasons (1959-2015) without wearing the same color jerseys and pants.
That is a very impressive streak and an excellent standard to have.

The Arizona Cardinals did not have a Tight End put up 100 yards or more in a single game, for 34 consecutive years until Trey McBride finally did it last year.
It was also 34 yeas to the DAY. Both tight ends did it on Nov the 12th. crazy stat.

After returning to the league the Browns have drafted five QBs in round 1. Couch and Baker with the 1st pick.
Brady Quinn at 22. Followed by Brandon Weeden at 22. Followed again by Manziel at 22. Watson had 22 'allegations' when the Browns signed him.
Weeden was the NFL's oldest first round selection at age 28.
The last QB to win a game for the Chiefs that they drafted (outside of Patrick Mahomes) was Todd Blackleddge in 1987.

My first thought. Big fan of the channel but this is, like, literally in order of the upvotes on that thread.
I have said this and will say this. Josh Jacobs is a great runningback and as shown what he can do when rushing the ball. Now, when Gibbs came to the NFL. Gibbs is just like Josh. These 2 guys are dangerous with open space and hard to take down. 2 guys from the same college and both can play that high level of football as a runningback. Josh and Gibbs both men can catch the ball out the back field. An if a player is 4 yards or more off these guys. They can put those yards up. Surprised that 5 head coaches didn't watch his film and realized what Josh could do with a check down or a open field catch.
Idk Josh has dropped a lot of balls during his time with the Raiders

One of my favorite draft anomalies: Both the Broncos and Chiefs have had some HOF quarterbacks play for them (Elway, Manning, Montana, Dawson... Moon technically) but only one HOF quarterback was actually drafted by either team. Roger Staubach was drafted by both the Cowboys and the Chiefs back in 1964 when the AFL and NFL had separate drafts, and he obviously chose the Cowboys.
I think it's safe to say that we can add Mahomes into that technicality. There's no way the League doesn't give him a gold jacket.

Well, this was a huge unexpected treat. Thank you, Perna, from the Carolinians. That 2014 season was also the year Cam was hauled off from a truck turned upside down on a stretcher, and played two weeks later, I think, starting that run from 3-8 to 7-8-1. Also, by winning the division in 2014, that was the first time an NFC South team won consecutive division champs, which is either really inconsistent or makes it really competitive. And finally, it may still be a record today but I know it was when the game was played, but that wildcard game the Panthers won against the Cards in 2014 was a record for the least yards a defense gave up in a playoff game. I think the Cards put up like 75 yards of offense for that game. Should be said they were playing a backup qb but still....lotta craziness from that 2014 team with the great Greg Hardy
