    Thanks for putting this up so quick after the HRM's release. I've got the Dude, so of course I was wondering.

    Your video helped me a lot to decide....HRM.....both are great, but the HRM has more Gain and I like it.

    Great test. 100% agree with conclusion.Difference is very light. I guess some less treble and pich more of midrange on HRM could make em similar.

    Excellent video! The Dude sounded more focus on high midrange and treble. Reminds me of a Marshall tone. The HRM sounded more balanced EQ. Both sound great. Hard for me to decide.

    Thanks for this. Agree completely. Subtle but different.
    HRM tighter to my ear. Better mids

    Both sound terrific! At a gig, would anyone in the audience tell a difference? Uh....no.

  • @hlyangel1
    @hlyangel1 Před 10 měsíci +2

    Similar but a huge difference in how each pedal handles touch sensitivity. The break up of the RHM is much smoother. It makes the DUDE sound kind of punk rock in comparison

    Great vid! I have a Dude and love it. The HRM sounds like it's got more muscle, while the Dude sounds a little more sweet. Probably due to the midrange voice like you mentioned. Close enough that I'll stick with the Dude. (I've got other pedals that can do muscle.)

    • @doubled5383
      @doubled5383 Před měsícem +2

      Totally agree with that since I have both pedals. The HRM does muscle extremely well, my god. Into my Bassman style amp with 6L6's. My neighbors hate me.

    Great tones. I use the Dude through a Tone King Gremlin. I love the sound of the Dude, but I wish it had more gain. The HRM sounds perfect imo.

    I could be wrong but they look like the same pedal with two different voicings. J Rockett could make a single pedal by adding a switch. Dude mode and HRM mode. As a Gladio SC owner, if I really had to choose another Dumblish pedal, perhaps I would choose the HRM. I would never sell the Gladio anyway.

    I used to own a Dude and I found that there was a lot of white noise or hiss if I put the gain above 10:00 on the gain. Would you say that the HRM V2 had quieter operation?

    • @doubled5383
      @doubled5383 Před 5 měsíci +2

      Agree with that. I had a Dude and sold it. The HRM is quieter and I think is one of the best drive pedals I have every played. I have played Tube Drivers, Zen Drives, Ethos Preamp, Tanabe Zenkudo, etc. This HRM I put along with my Kingtone Duelist and Mythos Mjolnir as best drive pedals I have ever owned.

    How is the background noise on the HRM? I really like the Dude but find it a bit noisy.

    • @haikoheinz7359
      @haikoheinz7359  Před rokem +1

      To me it seemed quite normal but i also didn´t mind the noise on the Dude. But to be honest i never crank the gain fully up in a playing situation

    I have 10 guitars and literally take everyone and use them all at a gig. It makes a better show than colored lights etc. and set up and tear down is faster .LOL My point is with some authority as I cover High gain HB, PAF. P90, Strat, Tele, Rick, Gretsch and Gold Foil sounds.
    I can tell you only a Strat can be used to judge a pedal. If the pedal is open with some reasonably transparency the Strat chime and bell-like tone comes thru. if it doesn't come thru pedal has smothered the Strat and you might as well play anything because it won't very much matter. SO ...thanx for your demo with a Strat.
