Amira is Dutch and lives in South Africa. She was 13 years old at the time of the video. Amira's journey is worth following, the girl is absolutely extraordinary. Best from the beginning, when she auditioned for "Hollands got Talent" at the age of 9. Or of course her interpretation of "Your Love" by Ennio Morricone. Or her interpretation of "La Vergine degli Angeli " by Giuseppe Verdi. Or.........or
The US uses bagpipes playing Amazing Grace for all fallen officers and many returning passed from the military. It's very important to so many of us. Beautifully sung!

When Amira was very young she sang for Veterans in The Netherlands who had liberated the area who were visiting.
More recently she sang When You wish upon A Star as her contribution to an online concert also for veterans.
Her CDs have been donated to veteran homes also
She is absolutely incredible and "amazingly graceful" at only THIRTEEN years old! She is now 19 and better than ever!

She's good! 13 here. She is actually Dutch. But her mother is from South Africa, and that's where she lives now. Whatever she sings, she nails it, and puts a distinctive Amira stamp on it, often at the end. She tends to concentrate on opera, religious, and theater songs. Pick one and see if she has done it, I bet you'll be impressed. At this concert, she had already sung Nessun Dorma, and the Flower Duet, before delivering this Amazing Grace.
To Amira Amazing Grace is more than just a hymn, but a testimony to her own Christian faith. You might also like I'll Walk With God, duet with Lukhanyo Moyake. Amira is well known for her operatic arias, eg Nessun Dorma (CIG 2017), O Mio Babbino Caro, with Andre Rieu, Flower Duet, with Corlea Botha.
13 years old here. Another brilliant song by her is O sole Mio which she sang at age 12 with Patrizeo Buanne. Or at age 9 when Andre Rieu invited her to perform O Mio Babino at his concert in Maastricht where she received a standing ovation from an audience of 10,000.

I last saw a video of her signing on one of the "Got Talent" shows when she was 10, she has grown into a beautiful and talented young woman.

Amira's story starts at the tender age of NINE when she won Holland's got Talent! And her story only gets BETTER from there... This performance dates from when she was thirteen and she is nineteen now! Many very knowledgeable vocal experts rate her as one the finest lyric sopranos in the world today... seems a crazy thing to say given she is ONLY nineteen at the time of writing!

She isn’t that good of a singer and seems like she doesn’t even understand the words she is singing let alone all the history of this song. Maybe someone her age with little life experience isn’t the best fit for this song. The orchestra sounded wonderful. Edit: her voice is actually incredibly grating to my ears.
Not every singer will appeal to everyone..
Though this video has 29 million views on her channel so it is beloved by many.
Regarding Amira not understanding the meaning of the song, she has always had a strong Christian faith, and since very young has repeatedly said that her voice is a gift from God with which to do good with. She regularly sings in church's and homes for the elderly.
At aged 10 she used her first earnings to set up a foundation Gelukskinders to build playgrounds for children in the townships and built her first playground, public playground and mainly in schools since, near where she now lives in South Africa and to date, aged 19, her foundation to which she donates a lot of her earnings and is strongly supported by her fans, has built and maintained 21 playgrounds and is currently providing netball equipment and uniforms to secondary schools there and next year will fund the cost of a netball tournament for those schools.

Hi, I am an 83 old lady in Orrtofua South Sfruca and first saw her at ours, on André Rieu's stage in Maastricht Holland, ( on video. 😂) amazing. I was checking out ghd comments to comment but shooter 5884 has nfntioned her Gelukskinders playing parks Foundation. She is giving back tenfold?? (My interpretagion,) bless her. She has sung on our stage here in eggs sigh Patfivio Bionne (sorry not sure of his last name 😂) a programme "Afrikaans is groot. " beautiful. Go girl go......thanks Recky...❤
