What I kinda don’t like about taskmaster in this movie is that in the comics the heroes usually have to come up with a clever way of beating taskmaster because he can copy abilities, but in this one we don’t really get to see that.

Taskmaster has always been one of my favorite villians in Marvel. As a character that had stood toe to toe with multiple Avengers at once and had fought pretty much evenly with SPIDER SENSE of all things to be simplified into "Haha helmet programs go brrr" and to be taken down so simply in this movie is a major disappointment. For a character to be degraded to this level is an utter insult to the original work.
She still has the ability to mimic moves even without the chip and program. Those just help her with it.

I found it super predictable. A masked villain like that is only effective if it is either established to the audience (like Ghost) or if it is an impactful character in the past of the protagonist. I guessed who Taskmaster was very early on in the movie, probably after they mentioned when Widow killed that kid and was super disappointed that it was that easy to guess. Mysterio as a villain reveal was better, and we all saw that coming anyway, so this truly sucks. I just hope they give Taskmaster another chance, like The Manderin.

Prediction: The reason why Taskmaster in this movie uses tech to copy abilities is because the original mutagenic abilities are being suppressed by the very same thing that allows Dreykov to control the Widows.
I know it sounds absolutely ridiculous.
But imagine how amazing it would be if Taskmaster was played by the stunt double of ALL of the actors? Like if They all had a turn playing the part of Taskmaster whenever they needed to use an ability to use a move.
Well yeah, that's actually the exact way they did it.... one of the doubles is Andrew Lister that did spider man, captain america and dr strange stunts... There were also others that did different stunts for taskmaster, but idk their names.
Reveal was a huge dissapointment for me, but fighting scenes were pretty good. Hope to see Tony Masters one day, the real Taskmaster.

This video does a great job at showing that the did sorta come close to giving us a great MCU Taskmaster... But the little details, like the tech-power rather then photogenic memory power, and the whole 'mute villain's daughter' thing were enough to ruin it. So much so that we all missed just how many cool callbacks there were in just a few short scenes.

I loved the move set taskmaster displayed. I wish there was more of a direct fight scene between Natasha and taskmaster or yelena and Natasha vs taskmaster to mirror bucky and cap vs iron man. Or screw it all 4 of them vs taskmaster to show how much of a threat taskmaster was.

Taskmaster was just a project of the Red Room. And now it's in Minister Ross's hand. Ever since Minister Ross is hostile to the Avengers, we could see more Taskmasters in coming Marvel movies.
I wouldn't count iron Man as a fighting style that was copied, considering there was just tech in the helmet.

Well the MCU version of Taskmaster is like copycat of techniques and technology.
The knife flip when she was fighting the Red Guardian was my favorite callback. As far as I can remember, that move was only used once or twice, and I find it kind of cool, the attention to detail they have when making these films.
I did like watching the subtle references to combat that we've seen in the films before. It was a great homage while at the same time communicating the powers of the villain.

Thing is, I don’t even care about the name Tony Masters. I just wish that the MCU version had had his fun personality instead of just being another Winter Soldier. I really hope that Antonia Drakov comes back in a later movie with some personality, maybe to fight New Captain America, or New Black Widow, or even in Deadpool 3.
I know she was “redeemed” by the end and seemed to forgive Natasha but honestly I think they left the door open for anything to happen with this character and I would be very happy for her to come back as something other than just a ripoff of the Winter Soldier.

Technically Iron Man shouldn't count since it's... just tech. Task Master already has the technology to copy others. Task Master doesn't need to copy tech. plus there was no way the red room even got that footage since there would have been no one recording it.

This task master is pathetic. This task master has to actually analyze a person, while the REAL task master only has to see your moves once and he knows it instantly (exception for DP, no one can predict Dead Pool)

Was pleased to see one of marvels most interesting villains was in black widow. Then I saw the movie and was upset at how underutilized the character was.
And the fact that it was ruined in the translation.
I just happened to be watching this in the post office, and "shoot to thrill" was playing in the background. And it synced up where hawkeye shot his arrow at loki.

Against Hulk, he was dominating the fight with his skill until Hulk got rage boosted. He did defeated The Destroyer with Mjolnir tho, I give you that. And Thanos and Hela is just better fighter and much more powerful than Thor, so Thor wouldn't really stood a chance.

It wasn't even just the smoothness, it was the speed. Winter Soldier felt like an actual assault on Steve's life. Taskmaster felt like it wasn't going for the kill with an almost rhythmic pace to it. That could have been to make it feel more robotic in its copying, but it ends up bringing the attack down from great to good.
Plus, the camera work was horrible, unlike Winter Soldier. It keeps on cutting too much wherein the other is just 2-3 cuts.
I was just about to say this. When Taskmaster used the knife, it felt slow and not that dangerous. When Winter Soldier used the knife, it felt feral, fast and really dangerous.
For everyone in the comments saying Taskmaster would get destroyed by the Avengers etc: if you are talking about this Taskmaster then yes you're right. If you're talking about Taskmaster from from comics then you're completely wrong. In Taskmasters first appearance he beat all of the Avengers single-handedly and only lost as he faced Jocasta who he'd never seen before.
This Taskmaster might be a threat as well. It really all depends on how much of a threat the writers need the character to be at the time. Like in the comics, he could either take on the entire team, or be taken out by a flying kick from Black Panther in 1 panel as I've seen happen

Bruh Tony was defeated by Cap who was drugged and blinded within 3 punches. Even the comics Taskmaster can be easily defeated.
The pose thing is to have the ground under you and face the enemy, the hair flipping is to get your hair out of your eyes, and the hand in the air is to reach out for whatever is out there incase you fail the landing

Taskmasters fighting is something that is overlooked a lot. Some moves are a exact copy of cap/buckys fighting and it shouldn't be overlooked.

One thing this film did really well in that no one is talking about:

Unlike the throne room fight scene in The Last Jedi
But other movies like winter Soldier and civil war had better action choreography. This movie had literally no other factor good thats why the mediocre choreography feels the strength of the movie

Just because you didn't like it doesn't mean you need to try to come up with a dumb comment as to why other people liked it. @@Jim-Halp1234 As much as people enjoyed it, many others did not. Your small minded reasoning is also why you think people who disagree with you shouldn't share their opinion. The movie came out years too late, had no real threat due to the obvious reason of her death in Endgame, and Natasha had an invincibility level of plot armor, surviving multiple fatal instances for no other reason than the previous point. None of these plot points were brought up ever after the time period this took place in, so why make it that time period at all? They could have done so, so much better had it been made years ago. And yes, I know her story in this isn't brought up in other mcu movies because this didn't exist yet, but that is exactly the problem.

This compilation is awesome. My only regret is that Taskmaster was never present for any of the feats nor had access to footage of most of them. I'd prefer a learning Taskmaster, one who has to learn everything the opponent does and how to counter that. the Udon series is a great example of how this character could have been better portrayed, in my opinion.

UDON Taskmaster was on a whole other level.
You know, Taskmaster's scenes in this movie are actually pretty awesome when you take out the stupid twist.
I honestly think it would have worked better if it turned out she wasn't controlled, she straight up wanted revenge.
I think the writers avoided giving Black Widow actual consequences for her actions in her past... same goes for Captain Marvel and Rey.

I wish they made it more obvious when he copies someone. I think, as a casual moviegoer, it would be hard as hell to know that's his power aside from the time he fights Black Widow. If he comes back in the future I hope it's more obvious who he's imitating.
I remember one time in the Marvels Spiderman TV show when Taskmaster showed up. Everytime he saw an attack preformed it would do a quick cut away of Taskmaster putting together how to do it in his head.
I remember he did that with Iron Fist in the school hallway if I remember correctly.
