GDR 039 - ASGAIA "Death Board" (2024)

Die Musiker der Band ASGAIA sind seit 1991 in der ostdeutschen Szene aktiv und
kehren neun Jahre nach der letzten Veröffentlichung nun mit ihrem vierten Album
zurück. Die fünf Jungs aus dem Thüringer Wald bleiben dabei dem melodischen
Death Metal der alten Schule treu und gehen keine Kompromisse ein.
In Anlehnung an die Methapher, die Welt als ein Schachbrett der Mächtigen und
Kriege als Spiele anzusehen, wurde das Album “Death Board“ getauft. Dabei
bröckelt die Oberfläche und die höllische und tödliche Natur darunter wird
sichtbar. Das Album enthält neben brandneuen Kompositionen auch Neuaufnahmen
eines Titel der “Waves“-EP sowie einen Song aus der frühen DAMNATION-Zeit.

The musicians of the band ASGAIA have been active in the East German scene since
1991 and are now returning with their fourth album, nine years after their last
release. The five boys from the Thuringian Forest remain true to old-school
melodic death metal and make no compromises.
Based on the metaphor of seeing the world as a chessboard of powerful people and
wars as games, the album was christened “Death Board”. The surface crumbles and
the hellish and deadly nature beneath becomes visible. In addition to brand new
compositions, the album also contains new recordings of a track from the “Waves”
EP and a song from the early DAMNATION period.
