    Great video guy's, we experienced the same thing when we were in pigeon forge, we looked at different restaurants website to get an idea of there menu, before er went and when we got to the restaurants the prices were different, even though it was just as you experienced it was just a dollar or two, but was still caught off guard. Thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas.

      @NCMemoryMakers  Před rokem +2

      Yes, I believe that their prices should be the same in the restaurant, as on their own website. Even though it was just a small amount, it's the principle.
      Thank you for watching, and have a very Merry Christmas.

      @@NCMemoryMakers One of your older videos hit my feed and I Subscribed a month or so ago. Nice job! I am looking forward to following y'all.
      I don't disagree but I am also giving service providers a little more slack right now. Most are still very short staffed and this is one of the items that gets overlooked with Managers have to work line jobs (kitchen, serving, register, busing tables, etc) more so now than during normal times. Did you point it out to them?

    • @NCMemoryMakers

      @@rockybalboa5896 First of all, thank you for subscribing and for your encouraging words. We are glad you enjoy our content.
      Second, I agree with you about giving them a little more slack now. Especially in regards to having to raise prices. I get it. I just don't like the surprise when I get there, because I feel like a website would be easy enough to update. They don't necessarily have to scan an exact copy of their menu on their website. They could enter it in a format that would allow them to edit the prices as need be.
      No, I didn't point it out to them in the restaurant, because I didn't notice it until we got back into the car and I checked the website again to be sure. I was comparing it with the receipt that I had gotten. I was going on memory as to what I had read on the menu when we were still in the motel room, and I had to look it up again to reconfirm that I was correct. I didn't feel that $2 was worth going back inside to mention. I'm just hoping they will see the review and take that into consideration.

    We have eaten dinner there several times. The apple fritters are wonderful. And the vegetable soup is absolutely delicious. Its a great place to eat.

    Glad that we don't have smoking and non-smoking sections anymore. We always like the Applewood Julep and fritters. The Nashville Hot Chicken on the Mac & Cheese looked like a good selection. At least with the power out you don't have to worry about the music blasting. We've experienced restaurants not updating their prices on the websites too. Great review!

      @NCMemoryMakers  Před rokem +1

      Yes, I fully agree on the smoking thing. This is one of our favorite restaurants in that area, but we hadn't been for about 2 years. We used to pretty much go every trip, or at least every other.

    I agree about the menu prices. We always try to look before we arrive so there's no nasty shocks.

      @NCMemoryMakers  Před 4 měsíci

      Yes, that is one of the things that I always try to mention if it happens. They can at least keep the website menu updated.

    I’ve eaten there a few times before and always enjoyed it. We have had a blackout here fo two days lasting for about fifteen to twenty minutes, That would be an experience having to eat in the dark, I’m glad everything worked out well for you

    We really enjoy watching your videos. We love to see your adventures and your obvious love for each other. It is irritating when the online menu does not reflect the correct price, but I assume there is more involved with updating a website than I may be aware of. Always best to try to extend grace.

    • @NCMemoryMakers
      @NCMemoryMakers  Před rokem +1

      Merry Christmas.
      Yes, we extended grace to them. I actually didn't say anything about it to anybody. In fact, I didn't notice it until I looked at my receipt when I got back to the car, and it was different than what I had remembered the price being on the online menu before we left to go there.
      Before we did our closing remarks, I looked at the online menu again, to make sure I was remembering correctly.
      I hope they watch the review, and realize the prices on their own website, need to reflect what they are actually charging. To me, that is just a given.

    I feel the same way about a restaurant allowing a misrepresentation of the actual price, which is basically a lie. That really doesn't draw me back, no matter how good the food is.

    Wishing you and your family Christmas blessings. Just curious, did you have to pay with cash because of the power outage? Thinking that might be an issue since folks don’t seem to carry cash these days. 🤷‍♀️
    So glad you are enjoying the season with one another.

      No, he came up and asked us if we wanted to go ahead and have him run the card, even before we were done eating. Said something about how they had 10 minutes to run the card right after the power went down, or they'd have to do it the old time way of swiping the thing across it and getting an imprint on paper.

      To my recollection, they came to our table when it happened, and took our card then. The same with the other tables. Seems like they had some sort of battery back up, and only a limited time after the power went out, to use it.

    Feiday all the ingles supermarkets here had their card machines go down and people were leaving to go to atm to get cash or pay with check. Power was on!
    Then the next day the cell service went out between here in franklin all way to Cherokee NC in big circle of area for long time. Then next day we had 15 min or so power outages. Different people would get a few and then other people would. Almost like the electric co was doing it manually.
    It’s been strange times with airwaves around here and technology.
    I always pay with cash. I rarely use my card. It was funny because they won’t take cash in most self checkouts anymore here. Don’t know why. So it’s become an inconvenience for me being a cash user.
    I do it for many reasons. Mostly, I feel it more when I spend money. I live in a fixed income. Secondly, it’s cheaper because places are adding fees for cards.
    I think everyone should kee a little cash in their glovebox or on them at least. For example. Our recent power outages. You can’t pump gas if power is out and cashiers can’t take your cards. I don’t know…

      Yes, I know that East Tennessee was doing rolling blackouts for residences. I assume that's what you were experiencing.
