No piano belongs to a real Johann-Strauss-Orchestra. This recording, however beautiful it may sound, is a simplification for today's mass audience ..., many greetings from D-45279 Essen/Germany.
There is no telling this guy's fanatical fans anything is changed, speeded up and cut and pasted music, or dumbed down or turned into shlock. But Strauss wouldn't recognize his own composition here. The proof is in several performances of this work with real symphonic orchestras available to listen here on You tube.. They play the whole piece as written at the tempi the composer intended. They don't skip or delete slower or quieter passages. There is no piano in the musical score. But fanatics, go on love your shlock. At least you're listening to a sort of synthesizer version of classical music.
I had to watch this again this evening. Andrea was about 44 years old at the time. Like fine wine, he just gets better with age. However, he and his orchestra were fantastic from the very beginning. These older videos are so beautiful to listen to. Thanks for sharing.
