A better example of "golden rule" ideaology would be WW2 naval combat, where most times whoever held the position after the battle would fish survivors out of the water. It's an unwritten rule of war at sea that you ALWAYS pick up survivors regardless of side, because to not get picked up = certain death. Every single power, axis or ally, had a huge amount of ship/fleet commanders who held to this rule(and a few cases of machine gunning survivors, but those were frowned upon). Even the Japanese would pick up American sailors, then send them straight to hellish POW camps where they were beaten and starved. But they picked them up.

“Sent out for bread”. That’s a desperate sounding comment. A functioning military has logistical supply lines that provide food directly to the front line troops. Only a crumbling unit leaves its troops to scavenge for their own food. Chances are he’s deserting to save his life and “looking for bread” is his cover story to save face while surrendering.
The thing is... Ukraine cant win against ru army directly, so it's targeting supply lines, ammo storages etc, so ru units are left without nothing. That's why ukr army is not advancing, it has to take some time to destroy supply lines etc
The priority of combat logistic is always 2 3 and 5. Russia lost that 1 3 5 war a long time ago when they have that failed convoy. Back in match 2022. That's the direct result for their lack of progress for the entire war, essentially the furthest they went is at the start of the campaign when they have everything with them. As progress went on, they will have a tougher issue with their logistic, we will see more of this near future
@gerkadas Line of Communication was fought in every war, you try to out manuver your opponent, you don't fight your enemy head on when they have their MSR and ASR wide open, unless you are Russian

Nothing lower than a deserter. He can never be trusted by either side ever again.
