I just listened to Trump saying “Get over it.” about the Iowa High School shooting! On the same day as the school shooting. He tried to mimic empathy, but he did not succeed.
He’s unable to do that. Let’s not forget that he thinks that soldiers who were wounded or killed fighting for our freedom are losers who should be hidden from the public view. “Nobody wants to see that!” We shouldn’t have expectations that he would respond any other way.

You can never get over it . We, as a country, have to do something to stop the mass shootings. It runs so much deeper than gun control. Our mental health system it 1:09 have someone you are trying to get help with, and there is little, if any help our there. I truly believe alot of these shootings that involve youth offenders are due to our way of life.

‘Dictator for the day’ laws need to be passed, powers need to be enabled, constitution needs to be amended for the greater good of a united nation, a United States of America.

I have friends that attend the school. I truly hope this opens our eyes for more protection towards our schools. I pray for anyone that was affected by this shooting, or lost someone. The school knew this kid was being abhorrently bullied and did nothing. His parents reached out to the school to do something about him and his friends being bullied, and they did nothing. I’ve listened to this clip several times. And based on the clip, it does NOT seem like he was telling the victim’s families themselves to “get over it.” That’s a twist on the statement. He’s speaking on behalf of himself and his supporters in sending their thoughts and prayers to that community and to recognize the devastation as “unique” to a state like Iowa where a shooting is far from the norm, but to also “move forward” and rise above the devastation. Don’t let the evil get you down. That’s what he seems to mean by “get over it” here. It’s not an insensitive comment to the suffering of others or a feign of empathy or anything like that.
