Did this exact same thing on my Ruger ranch rifle. Used camouflage gorilla tape and some plastic military foam I picked up somewhere. Was a great way to figure out where to put my eyeball and then freeze it in. Then I went and got a nylon one and then put the same plastic foam in the top to space my cheek up. Works great! Don't want to haul my ammo on the side like everybody else does.
Good job. I did very similar to my Savage 93R17 FV HMR. Only difference was I covered with the camo wrap material that is self-sticking, like the medical bandage stuff.
You can get a bourbon neoprene sleeve and it comes with 3 different thickness of foam risers for 20 bucks and you can change it to any other rifle/shotgun, if you do not want to spend more money...

MATTHEW FABRICATIONS makes a .125" kydex riser kit. Roughly $40.
I've bought a few. Good quality and all hardware is provided.
I saw a couple kydex risers, but the cost was waaay higher than that. I’ll check them out; $40 is definitely reasonable
I always use the ace bandage type wrap in camouflage color
