She decided to be critical from the start. Not helpful.
@@aliceElle257 it is a review. You have to be critical to do an honest review. Funny how when a male reviewer gets critical of a product people will say "im glad you're so honest" but when its a woman....
I feel like she never reads instructions before she tests stuff. But there’s a large amount of people who do that so for them her reviews are spot on!😂
And she doesn't know the company name is 'Instant Brands', not 'Instant Pot'. Major mistakes like that make the whole video meaningless.
There are two kinds of people, those who are here to see an excellent chef cooking in a new ways and those who are here to spot and mention mistakes in the brand names, lol.
I use the Vortex almost daily with good results. The rotisserie chicken comes out delicious!
seriously! It looks amazing! :D
For dehydrating you can use shelves and have them covered with slatted trays.
For broiling a steak, you just need to pre-heat and then it would be ok.
And for the potatoes, you actually could fit more in there. There just needs to be enough space for them to move around.
I appreciate the video but I felt like the tester should be going in more neutral to the product rather than going in with the idea that it's not going to be working that well. And if there are things you don't like about it during the test, try seeing if there are simple ways to get what you want, rather than just writing it off as not good at that feature.
Thank for this additional info and personal experience with this appliance. I find it very helpful.
Exactly! I have cooked steaks in air fryers. Just pre-heat them for like 10 mins and then you will get a sear. Maybe not a perfect one but still good enough.
She is a terrible reviewer. Wish they would get rid of her.
Izaak Fukuyama she’s not really that great. I’m not a fan. And will not be subscribing. She comes off as really snoody and I can’t get with that vibe
I agree! She went in with a negative attitude. 👎🏻
So on the steak - probably pre-heat the oven to full temp and you'll get the searing effect. Judging from the chicken.
For the fries - use way more oil to seal in the moisture, and more fries in the basket as it's really the air that's drying them out. Both those steps will make moist fries with a crust.
love mine, great for a camper, makes awesome pork chops and chicken fried without grease ,fried green beans last night they were so good...

To get good results with cooking a steak in the Instant Vortex, you have to pre-heat the oven with the grill in place. I love my Instant Vortex and I use it all the time. Well worth $120.
hey, did you try anything else in it like chicken wings, or fries?
@@kinzafarooqi218 Hi, I use daily for lots of things. I've cooked salmon, steaks, shrimp. It really does a great job.
I just got mine for Christmas but can’t find many recipes. What do you mean by the grill needs to be in place during the pre-heat? What if the grill? I’m so excited to use mine! I been wanting one for a while now!
@@winterwolf1144 search it in You Tube. Lana Under pressure has some great tips and recipes on her channel and blog.
The best results I got was from searing a frozen steak 90 seconds both sides and then air frying it for 15 minutes (turning over half way)
Oh I just got one of these to replace my air fryer and I really like this one as it’s so much easier to clean and I’m loving the oven light to keep an eye on the food. It does work as a dehydrator but it really needs to be as far away as possible to the fan or the food will fly around. I didn’t experience any burning. Will roast veggies in 8 mins
I love mine. Just bought one and I've done tator tots, small pizzas, chicken tenders, cookies. chicken wings. I recommend the vortex plus. so much fun to use
I stumbled here while comparing this and the vortex plus (and already had the vortex in my online shopping cart). Thanks!
She made up her mind about it before she even started. PREHEAT!!! Lord help her! I have this device and it works very well. Her issues are most definitely user error
You wouldn't say so if you saw her other vids.
@@HN-gj2iq I mean they have the product too and don't have the issue so it is user error or a malfunctioning unit.
I just got mine too and feel she she at the least did not give it a fair shake. Each of the things she made I would have done differently so I would say more user error than the fryer tbh. Fries I feel are better in the trays tbh but the basket I'm sure has some nice uses. Steak DEFINITELY turns out better if you actually preheat like the instructions say lol Would she throw a steak on a grill or skillet before lighting them then make a face at it after 2 min? o.O
Thank You, I didn't even watch it.
Agreed she complaining about nothing… I love my and she didn’t follow instructions they say preheat
Thank you. Good to have an unbiased review of the oven.
Stay safe.

We've had ours a year and a half and we use it all of the time..it's works great.
I have this product and love it 🥰
This is the third video I have just watched for this product. Each one has its own pluses. What I liked about this one was that it demonstrated the functionalities of the unit. I wondered what cooking fries in the basket would be and this demonstrated it perfectly. I was also interested in seeing what a rotiserrie chicken would be and that was the seller. I also liked her expression when she took her first bite of chicken. Great video. Good job.
Rockin' the Tifa Lockhart look, I see.
they even got the nerfed juicers right

That chicken looked picture perfect! Fantastic job on your demonstration, Esther.
She comes off very strong initially and it takes getting used to but I like and appreciate her honesty. I had a good chuckle watching this. I was watching this cos I just got my new airfryer today but with 9 different functions.
Initially? I found her very irritating , snotty, and I found myself rolling my eyes at her review. I hope they get a more pleasant and positive person to replace her.
First time, she had the tray too high, second time she over cooked the fries. Both times she blamed the oven lol.

I own a cheap Cook's Essential Air fryer and I have to say it Cooks one of the best Ribeyes I've ever had in my life.
I have a cook's essentials also I love mine
For the French fries get a spray bottle and spay a little light oil. For the steak baste it with tomato sauce, soy and a little brown sugar. The exterior will get a dark brown sear / glaze and it tasted wonderful. There are loads of basing sauces that you can concoct.
She seems like she knows a lot, just not about how to use an air frier
Thank you for this I love cooking gadgets and always wonder🤔
I just bought one, can't wait to start cooking in it.
The ability to rotate your food around makes this look interesting. I would love to see how this compares with a "normal" air-fryer (those with a pull-out compartment at the bottom) in terms of cooking speed and quality.
You have to turn the pan upside down to sear the steak when broiling. It gets it closer to the element. Also, the size of the servings isn't an issue when you're cooking for one and don't want to heat up the whole house.
Great vid thanks for the detailed review 😊
Honest and straightforward 👍
She doesn’t preheat and puts in a steak for 2 minutes and says “it didn’t do anything” I’m dying 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Also she put one of the apple trays at the TOP rack, instead of the middle/bottom rack. I mean what did you expect putting apple chips right below the circulation fan.
Exactly to BOTH of these comments.
She read the instructions about not preheating for the basket... I guess it says that honestly I havent used basket yet so havent botherd reading about it. BUT clearly did not read about preheating for literally everything else x.x Especially a steak good grief then compalins about no sear. I'm sure she does great on most gadgets but feel like she didn't click with how to use this thing. I got mine last week and am loving it.
Also have not put a tray on top for anything, the apple chips had me cracking up lol.
They may be a special case so not sure how I would make them though, but both trays on bottom for sure.
Have used dehydrator for jerky though, and have to say I'm never buying store bought again.
Exactly my thoughts. I have this oven and I am in love with it! My family’s getting them and my friends. That’s how much I brag about air fryer cooking! 👍🏽👍🏽
Btw, did she say she had a restaurant? I’m surprised she wouldn’t know to “preheat” the oven for the broiler function, just like you would do at home, before you put anything in it! Duh! 🤷🏽♀️
@@elevate32767 😄 might been blooper video. If I saw it flying I would said let's move them down a bit

Thank you so much for the review
do you have a link to the plate you're using please?
there's an error in the description box. It says 'testes' instead of tests. 🤔
2:10 should those apple chips have been on the top-most level like that? Seems to me the middle rack may not have had the chips go flying compared to that top-most level.
Yeah, it was a pretty obvious screw-up. You'd think she would have saw that, and tried it again with it lower and film that. That would have been genuinely useful. But no, she left the User Error take in. Same with putting the steak in cold.
I just got one. I dig it!
Been wanting to get one of these. Thanks!
get one love mine
Did she really have to start off so negative. I was so excited about using mine.
Yea , She’s trippin . I’ve cooked a bunch of stuff with an air fryer and it was good .
Me too!!
I just bought mine today. I think she wanted to sound as If she is a pro in air fryer products. She sounded negative about it from the start. I’ll never watch her vids again.
You should probably preheat the pan you're using for the broiling. Like a really good preheat and then put the steak in.
Good job on listing those functionalities! You did it!
Thank you always love your awsome and honest comment.
4lb weight restriction for rotisserie chicken. The housing that locks and spins the spit is made of rubber (hard, high temperature resistant kind) and is known to break when the weight is exceeded. The weight restriction applies if you are using the basket as well.
LMFAO @ "It's been 6 hours..." for those times when you wake up and think "man I'd really like some dehydrated apple chips this afternoon."
😂
Yeh that definitely didint seem worth it lul
I make jerky in mine though and love it. 160 for 2 hours and its done.

Makes sense. Thank you.
I have this instapoy vortex for a while now and I love it. There’s a guy on CZcams that gives recipes and tricks on using this machine. Also he suggested to not use the roller basket for fries. Just lay them flat on the pans.
I just love Esther Choi so much.
You need practice with a air fryer ,,,moving temps around
Huh? Practice with a conventional oven for a professional chef get bent boomer.
Wow Denny's be like " a steak like at Denny"s?" Hold my beer... where's my beer ... did I have a beer?

Excellent review...really informative and entertaining. Keep up the awesome work!
Does anyone know what size chicken was cooked in this video
For dehydrating apples, you put the slices on one pan and place the other slotted pan on top so IT WONT FLY AROUND. It’s an AIR fryer. It uses air and blows around.
seemed like she made the slices super thin too
She never read the directions, and used any recipes ! Very unfair review!
I have a very similar air fryer in design and function, and I've done many beef and pork ribs using the rotisserie and they've come out just as juicy as your chicken. Roasts are my favourite use of the air fryer. I've tried a few steaks but coated them in oil and they've cooked crusty.
What air dryer are you referring to I'm trying to find a good rotisere
Love to see you demo the June 2 Oven
Debbie White they don’t have Ashton kutcher money
This would be great for a studio apartment that has no ovean though. The small size would actually be helpful for space saving and if it's only for one person then it should be fine. I love it!
It's obviously sized for 1 or 2 people, so I don't think capacity is a real issue.
I've never seen a large air fryer, so the "fries for one" isn't a real complaint. If you're the type that dehydrates a lot of fruit, you'd get a specialty device.
If you just don't want to heat up an oven, especially in the summer and want better chicken than a toaster oven would give you, this is perfect.
And who doesn't seer their steak before they broil them you seer it then put it in simple
I have a duplex in a Brown Stone, I cooked wings and fries, with my back door open. And the fumes omitted from this air fyer was still so overwhelming. I wonder how come not one reviewer talks about those toxic smelling fumes. I felt so sick inhaling whatever that was this thing is giving off. My home smelt like burning tires afterwards. The wings were delicious but, i don't know if this is worth it.
If you have a small apartment, get an instant pot with the crisper lid. It’s far more functional and you only need space for 1 device
@@babuyadav2336, this is good advice. My son moved into a studio apartment (with no stove/oven), so I am here looking at fryer ovens for him. He does have an instant pot, but not the crisper lid. I didn't even think about the crisper lids.

GOOD INFO VID,WELL NARRATED MY DEAR.THANKS AGAIN ..
Searing a steak means starting off with a preheated skillet or searing pan, I love my air fryers cooking fries, healthier for you than froes cooking in animal saturated fats a rotating basket I would adjust my cooking Time since 400-degree hot air is being circulated around them a convection oven cooks quicker than a convention oven. Subtract 25 degrees if a recipe calls for 350 degrees cooking temp. I'm an retired executive chef been around convection ovens for 30 years.
chucky chuck I just got one for Christmas and I’m so excited to use mine! So do I subtract 25 degrees from anything I cool?
the biggest question not answered on the "manual dishwasher of the household" is How hard and messy was it to clean?
It's very easy to clean, takes less than 5 minutes start to finish
I am the dishwasher lol and it's super easy. Messes wipe right off with a sponge or cloth. I did a chicken in the basket and expected a big mess in the unit, but I hardly saw any splatter on the sides. The drip tray can be covered with foil but I find that to be wasteful. The basket can be cleaned with a vegetable brush. I soak mine first.
the trays are dishwasher safe per manual, and the front door comes off.
I told my dad to use Palmolive soap mixed with hot water in a spray bottle. Spray the inside and wipe off with sponge (green side). Works great and cleans very easily.
Is that a folding cutting board on top of your induction cooktop? I need one...
Great review!
For home made chips/ fries , you have to put them in cold water for at least a 1/2 an hour.
Thanks for the tips. Can you explain the reason to put them on cold water?

Thanks for sharing your video. I agree that the rotisserie is the best feature too. 2nd best is the rotating basket. I did my first chicken in it because I didn't have cotton string to tie it and it was amazing. I don't have a bbq so hotdogs done this in the basket are the closest to grilled. One word of caution is that you can only use a max 4 lb chicken with either function or you will eventually break the part that holds it. If the bird is bigger, you can put it in a pan on one of the cooking trays.
That roast chicken looks amazing. Pretty impressed.
I think the air fryer is really meant for doing those packaged frozen fries that are partially cooked already.
I saw other videos and they say you're supposed to soak the homemade variety for 20 minutes, then pat dry, mix with a bit of oil. I wonder if that would have helped with the outcome.
Sue Marie
You soak the fries in water for 10 minutes before cooking and they come out perfect. And you can put more in the basket than she did. The main thing she failed to get across was with everything she cooked, it was done using much less fat than other methods. One of the main reasons for using an air fryer. I can again enjoy fries with out deep fat frying them. Rotisserie chicken is awesome!
@@edwardamarante2688 I've done homemade fries and store bought to compare and mine were just as good. I did soak, pat dry and add oil. I'm not great getting even cuts by hand so I bought the Starfrit PumpNSlice and am impressed with it. I hope it does as good a job on hard cheese and pepperoni like it shows on the commercial. I've also done sweet potatoes like the homemade fries. Saving lots of money that way. I was actually surprised at how much can fit in the basket. I didn't even come close to filling it a 1/4 of the way. WIN WIN

Sounds like it would roast coffee perfectly. Hmmm. Chicken and coffee in same gadget. Mix of flavors ?
Maxing out at 400F you can only get light roast out of it. A bigger problem would be that coffee smokes a lot when roasted and I'm not sure trapping the smoke with the coffee is too good.
"I love to dehydrate." *Eddie Hall starts sweating*
Do you use the 2 lower racks? Do they still fly like hers did? I'd love to try apples.

I love my Instant Pot !
Biggest complaints about systems/appliances are usually rooted in lack of understanding
WildDisease she’s a professional chef, so hold your opinion of instant pot aside and pay attention, it’s a band wagon piece of crap like it original instant pot, it’s just good enough to make consumers think they bought something of quality, but it’s just plastic garbage with a pot inside, this pice of crap is a GIANT counter top convention oven that does nothing. Better then the rest of them, except the rotisserie thing.
I couldn't have said it better.

Well, you might call it a gadget but it is really just a convection oven with prebuilt programs and adapters that better suit different meals. It´s a pretty great idea actually, especially for single households.
quite honest review
Thank you for the video. It's called an air fryer so it should be able to air fry really well. It appears to be a very good rotisserie so it should be called a rotisserie that can air fry, dehydrate, bake, etc.

Your procedure for air fry french fry did not remove the starch on the surface first that's why it's dry.
J L that’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard the potato is made from starch, if you meant dry off the liquid on the surface you’d have a point but you didn’t. And liquid would make it soggy not dry, still don’t know what you were trying to say.

I would like to see the ninja version of this.
I've watched many of her reviews, and just by reading the comments she apparently doesn't read instructions very often.. or not thoroughly.
it's hard for you to tell, cause they way they cut videos; spazz editing... it reminds me of those as seen on tv ads that came on late at night, where they'd show some idiot unable to stack tuberware for an hour to try and get you to buy an overpriced rack for your tuberware. she did one for instapot, didn't explain anything and the lcd was unreadable the whole time basically, so i assumed she was trying to sell me on going to a restaurant. the massive thumbs basically confirms it.
why would she need to when shes doing a paid review
Well terribly designed products are hard to make look good.
I read somewhere years ago that soaking home made french fries in a sugar water solution seals in the moisture and makes the outside very crispy.
What’s the cutting board you have ?
I have this unit and I air fry my steaks and they turn out beautiful!! Seared and juicy. The rotisary works great for pork roast or prime rib too.
I assume you pre-heat. She puts it in cold. It's like putting french fries in cold fryer oil and expecting them to turn out properly.
I have one also, and this machine is a beast. I get what she’s trying to do, review it as what regular people would try to use it as. However, we love ours and I simply don’t agree with the review.
You call that thin apples?
Great review
I think it’d be a great gift for only $120 it looks fancy
finally, someone who understands how to airfry french fries!!! I hate it when people put fries in an airfryer with extremely little oil and expect the product to be amazing. Airfry gets bad rep because of poor usage of the tool.
