Dogs are the most magnificent creatures on the planet. That is a beautiful dog.
I grew up with St Bernards.They came from a legitimate breeder. The pups were pedigree. Mine was named Barnabas Collins III. They are one of the most gentle breeds with children & other pets. Barney would even let our kittens climb all over home and chew on his ear. I cried for weeks after he died.

Been there done that. Even when you get another, the ones you lose are always still in the room. I cannot bring myself to get another because the loss so great.😢
I am so sorry for your loss. It is hard when we lose a beloved pet. When my lab passed away i bawled my eyes out 😭😭

Aww I love this. He’s such a good boy. My Saint…Chester passed away 10 years ago this year. I always think about getting another one and this video made me remember again how much they make me smile.
For anyone who’s thinking about it, it’s a next level commitment compared to a ‘normal’ dog but they give you so much back.
A lot of the little things he does in this video, I could have been watching Chester. Lovely dog and he’s clearly well loved!

Thank you for emphasizing training. I had a Belgian Malinois several years ago - he was an amazingly smart and capable guy, but they are so intelligent they have to have something to do. So exercise and training are ways to make them enjoy their day. Good luck to you regarding your next dog.

@@ClutchingPearlz yea it's a classic! 2nd Beethoven was good too but 3rd 4th & 5th not as much. Yea Florida was the best experience of my life & everyone was so friendly to us Irish which was great! There are currently no Covid restrictions so far so you should come to Ireland soon & drink lots of Guinness lol ❤️🍻

When I was a teen my parents adopted a Saint Bernard/Great Dane duo. They had been raised together there was no way they would live apart (It had been tried & didn't work). They were aptly named Bernie & Dan. My job was to walk Bernie & Dan. More like their job was to walk me. I couldn't do it alone so my best friend was recruited to handle one of them. My parents had them both until they passed away from old age.. 3 weeks apart. Dan went into a deep depression after Bernie passed.. and soon followed. Getting them was life changing and all for the better.

Beautiful dog and I know that the larger dogs are almost always "gentle giants" as from personal experience with dogs it's the smaller ones you have to look out for as they're almost always the most aggressive. A big guy like that would only become aggressive under extreme provocation or in defense of his family.
A house is not a home without a Sant Benard, we have two and love them to the sun and back!!

When my saint, chip, was a puppy we had our cousins dog come over for a snow play date, and with Tex being a woodle (wheaten terrier/poodle) he ran CIRCLES around chip, who just chased after him so happily. Poor chip ended up throwing up he ran so much, but even then he STILL wanted to play when the cold had gotten to tex who had decided to lay down on my aunties feet. Each dog has their strengths i guess!!

Beautiful 'little' guy! He was twice the size as a puppy then my full grown shih tzu. When I was a kid (in the 70's) there was a St Bernard named Fred that lived in our very small town and we had a peek aloo named spooky (our grandfather kind of named her by calling her a Siberian spook hound). For some reason could not tolerate even the thought of Fred. Every time we mentioned his name or they walked past the house she went batshit crazy. He was so gentle and sweet and wouldn't hurt a fly. That is kind of what she was compared to him-a nusiant fly.
