    Also had E07 error code, I have my diesel heater externally fitted, VW T5, and when checking all the connections it turned out there was moisture in the multi plug where heater and power connect. Electrician friend advised to dry the plugs with heat gun or hairdryer, put back together and see if it worked, which it did and then unplug connector smear connections with petroleum jelly, refit and then wrap the plugs with self amalgamating tape. Worked a treat and stops and moisture getting in and because I've smeared the connections with petroleum jelly and condensation that may occur won't affect the terminals.

      Rather odd you can smell diesel! The two combustion chambers are separate and no diesel should be in the heat exchange. It does sound like a glow plug issue. Fuel in no ignition. Hmmm. These heaters can throw multiple problems on one error code. I must admit it still sounds like an electrical error. I did a video on what’s inside a failed heater. Take a look and have a try stripping the combustion chamber down and taking a look at the heater mesh. Make sure it’s not coked up.
      I’ll also go though other issues that others have experienced to see if that throws any more light on it

First, I connected to 12v, and I hit the power button, the fan starts and I cet an E-02--over voltage. @PKandL  Před 10 měsíci

      The controllers auto switch between voltages, so you don’t need to reset them. They are able to detect the voltage of your batteries.
      E-02 can also be a bad earth, power surge or loose wire in the wiring loom connecting to the main carcus.
      Sorry it’s so vague but there are a plethora of issues that can arrive from e-02 although they are nearly always electrical

      @PKandL  Před rokem

      Hello. If it won’t prime it’s most likely fuel starvation. 1st. Check there are no kinks or twists in the fuel line. Especially if it’s a long cable. The other thing which is really easy to get wrong is making sure the pump is the correct way around. If the pump is backwards it blows back to the fuel tank rather than sucks. (I set mine up like this initially)
      Check for splits in the fuel line by the joints of the pump. Pipes provided can offer split so small you can hardly see but will leak air.
      Try these first then get back to me and we’ll try the next stage if it doesn’t work

I've changed the glow plug 3 times, and used 3 different mother boards, tried a bunch of different settings. Always end up with some sort of issues. Thinking I should just switch over to a small wood stove, but when it does work, it's amazing. I've been using mine in a converted enclosed trailer for the past 5 months.

      @PKandL  Před rokem

      The vevor ones are probably the best of the bunch. They’re a direct copy of the eberspacher the only thing is the build quality is 100 times better but 10 times the price. Tbh it sounds like wiring rather than parts. The cables are incredibly poor quality and cause 85% of all issues with the heaters. I’m using a vevor and my mate Dan has two on his van and they’ve been fine. Although we have had issues with power supply.
      Good luck with your decision. Wood burners are great but lack the control of a diesel heater.

      7amp is very low. The fuel oil isn’t burning at the correct temperature so initially I’d concur that the ampage too low to allow full combustion. 02 is a notoriously difficult one as it normally identifies as an over voltage. Firstly go into settings and check that the system is set as 12v and your batteries are configured the same.
      If you’ve white smoke from the exhaust check that there’s no water in your fuel tank. Also as a side thought check no air is getting in via your fuel lines.

      That’s a Webasto heater. If I’m honest I’m not 100% on those but I do know that if you’ve white smoke your unit is not burning fuel correctly. If it’s black smoke that’s a carbon build up. If that’s the case I’d strip the outer casing and remove the inner combustion chamber. There should be I’d imagine a mesh and heater plug. Give them a gentle brush and try some wd40 or similar on them. Don’t try and remove the mesh screen as you’ll need a special tool.

One bearing od was way small and it was seated in silastic, but it didn't matter much because the id was too big, leaving the shaft to spin freely, for a while, in the bearing🤬. • @PKandL
      @PKandL  Před rokem

      Thanks for getting in touch. E04 is quite complex as it relates to the pump but can be caused by numerous things. Your battery is at 13v+ but what you need to do is put the battery under load then church the voltage. Then check the wiring lion entering the pump itself. Remove the cable check for corrosion clean then refit.
      Finally if this hasn’t cured the issue check the fuel line to make sure there are no air bubbles. The fuel line supplied is not great and will perish. Particularly at the point where the line attaches to the pump. Tiny almost invisible splits will cause air to leak into the fuel. This will give you e04.
      Just as a thought make sure the fuel line isn’t being pinched either.

      If you need to prime each time you start up then you’ve a leak in the fuel line. Either in the line, the fuel line supplied are strangely not diesel rated!! The smallest split will cause an air leak which will require priming. Or… you’ve got a partial vacuum in the fuel tank which is pulling the diesel back to the tank! Leaving the fuel lines empty.
      If you have to prime each time then it’s air in the line. Try leaving the fuel cap off between running the heater. If it doesn’t require priming it’s the fuel tank.

    • @PKandL
      @PKandL  Před rokem

      Hello. E-02 error codes are electrical supply faults. There’s quite a number of them too. Normally it’s a power over supply, this can be caused by the batteries with a power output of more than 13.7v. In theory the heater should work up to 14.6v but the wire in side the wiring loom is particularly thin and can short out if over voltaged. These wire were often not copper but cheap zinc wires which has a very low threshold. The answer firstly is check the battery power voltage. If you have multiple batteries connected then try disconnecting them all and power off one battery. If this works it’s an over voltage error for sure. Also check all your connections. A loose earth or positive will give an e-02 error code. And remember to pop the fuse on the earth line for a few seconds as this will reset the pcb to default and it may clear the error.

      Hello! Sorry for the late reply and thank you for the comments. Turns out it was the voltage being too low. Someone mentioned that it could be that and recommended ti check by pressing ‘ok’ twice when you turn the heater on and then watching the voltage. Mine dropped steadily and when it got below 9v would stop and flag the error. I replaced the plug and wired straight ti the battery. This has sort of helped but the voltage still drops pretty low so I am going to check another connection where I extended the power cable next. Many thanks,
      Pieter

    hi i had a code that no one knows of on my heater u003, turns out its a fault on the wireing loom

      Wiring loom issues are unbelivebly common, mainly down to poor quality componants sadly

    I have e07 code. I have 13.49v ive swapped motherboard and display screen .cut out and soldered main block connector still no better. ? Only 3 months old, only worked occasionally from new.

    • @PKandL
      @PKandL  Před rokem

      Have you checked the battery voltage whilst under load. That’s the first thing to check. Next the connection between the power cable and the heater body itself check the pins and reseat if necessary. e07 is generally electrical. As you say it’s occasionally worked it does sound very much like electrical supply. If you’ve changed the controller circuit board then it really has to be the wiring loom or as mentioned voltage drop whilst under load. Let me know if you’ve tried these things. I’ll look through my list of solutions provided by subscribers to see if there’s anything else that could cause it

      @PKandL I have cut out the big block connector and soldered them, I can't test voltage under load as it doesn't get that far but I will try fitting a new power cable direct to the battery , same goes for the negative.

      @PKandL ok I've just checked and all the connections seem good, I've taken + and - from a massive fully charged separate battery and still showing e07. What makes me mad is I contacted the seller within 30days on ebay and they sent me a new motherboard to try but obviously this took me over the 30 days returns policy and now they arnt replying to messages ar email and ebay don't get involved after 30 days. I've also continuity checked all the wires I can inc opening the controller and checking from the soldered joints

    Brand new one and E3 error?

    • @PKandL
      @PKandL  Před rokem

      Hi. E-03 is a drain issue. Check that there is no blockages in both the air intake to the bottom of the heater and in the fuel lines. (Not pinched)
      e-03 is a shortage of air leading to neat fuel being pumped. If it’s new make sure there’s no plug in the hole.
      Let me know how you get on

      Can be a number of things. Poor earth on Battery, unsuccessful start is too high a temperature on the shell, this maybe the glow plug earthing through the inner casing. OR... IF YOU HAVE WHITE SMOKE the filter behind the glow plug needs cleaning. Let me know how you get on

      Hi Trevor. The manual doesnt have an e-0-10 error code for trouble shooting! It is an ignition error. The manufacturer suggests it can be a carboon build up in the combustion chamber but this is clearly not the case. But... It can be one of serveral things. 1st check the fuel line has no kinks or cracks around the pump area. If using the green pipe supplied it can often split with the minutest hole allowing air to form a blockage. But it could be fuel starvation 2nd make sure the positive cable and earth wire are securely fixed and with good connection. Lastly check the air intake at the bottom of the unit is clear. water sometimes gets trapped inside this tube and this will starve the combustion chamber,. Make sure there are no foreign bodies inside including paper or even dog hair that can get sucked in.
      Give them a try and hopefully itll sort it. if not let e know. ive included a link to a previous video I made but it doesnt include or the miriad of possible issues.

      Check the battery voltage whilst under load. The draw from the battery may also be too high for the wiring! I know it sounds a bit daft but the quality of the wiring isnt the greatest. Let me know how you got on

      Sorry for the delay in responding. 07 can be quite a few things. But… if you’re able to power up check the draw from you’re batteries. If it’s too low it’ll kick out a 07 code. Use a volt meter direct rather than an lcd display on your control panel. This can sometimes give a false reading
      Have you sorted it? If so what did you do to rectify?

    • @PKandL
      @PKandL  Před 7 měsíci

      That is very odd. Do you have an lcd display?
      I’m guessing it’s a low voltage error as it may not be able to power up the display. If that’s true your battery is unbelievably low which tbh I find hard to believe.
