Cohen pleaded guilty to eight criminal charges: five counts of tax evasion, one count of making false statements to a financial institution, one count of willfully causing an unlawful corporate contribution, and one count of making an excessive campaign contribution at the request of a candidate (Trump) ... it was not all cause of Trump.

If I understand correctly, Michal Cohen went to prison for exactly the crime that Trump will be on trial for. Michael served his time. But remember, with great power comes great responsibility. If Trump is convicted (and he was the one who told Michael what to do), Trump's sentence should be much longer than was Cohen's.
