Before Mirror released for Switch online I was at the mercy of when my speedrun group could meet up, which meant Any% was the easiest thing to plan and execute. If we had lived together as roommates or something we would've routed 100% for sure. With Switch Online now being a thing I'm sure there's going to be some runners tackling the challenge of routing it (think of all the cool stuff you could do with phone calls!), but alas I do not own a Switch myself. I run using a GameBoy player.
This was honestly so cool to watch. Played the absolute crap out of this game but honestly can never say I've seen the co-op mechanics ever and to see it in speedrun form is absolutely amazing!!!
Yeah it's sad we don't have the feeds from Hybrid, Nippo, or Bees. All three of them were playing on SPs on the floor around me and I was playing on a GameBoy Player.
I never beat this game as a kid and currently replaying it. Seeing a multiplayer run made me so happy and nostalgic. I wish I had the peeps to do this with back then. Yall did great🖤‼️

I dont know how hard it would be to set up, but I could only imagine how cool it would be to have a 4 way split video to see what all players are doing at the same time.
I need more multiplayer speedrun. Seems more lively than a one player speedrun. Also I would love if HAL made another game like amazing mirror or kirby air ride. (Also I need to find a four plsyer TAS of this game.)
To keep it simple: Even when running a "new game" in Multiplayer, the game asks the other players to choose a profile. The paint they chose on that file is used for multiplayer.
So when you start a multiplayer game, you select which player's file to play with (usually someone with a 0% file to begin a speedrun). Everyone else joining can join on their 100% files and select their favourite spray paint before joining the multiplayer session.

And then you realize just how bad the input lag is lmao. It's not just a Switch Online thing; it was that bad on OG hardware too!
@TGSpeedruns Honestly I remember it being better on the OG hardware. Still had lag just not as much
Someone should edit the code of this game to see if they can reduce lag 100% and make. It a open source MOD
This type of multiplayer concept feels really ahead of its time IMO. Really cool.

Well the issue was I was the only one playing on a GameCube. Nippo, Bees, and Hybrid were all playing on GBA SPs.

Hybrid, Nippo, Bees, and myself were all sitting together in the same room with link cables, just like it was 2005.
