Struggled years with addiction, having bouts of sobriety thru 12 step programs, but the demons never completely left me, they always returned worse than before. I only believed in a " Higher Power" that Voddie touched on in his presentation. It wasn't until a friend who was a believer had me over one night and asked if I'd sit for an hour and watch a message on CZcams with him. That message was this video. I remember Voddie reading Psalm 22 and the tears began to roll down my face, it was that night I got on my knees and asked Jesus into my life. I can report that the demons are gone and I'm finally a free man. It wasn't that I had a meth or porn problem, all along I had a Jesus problem. But because of Him I'm no longer a slave to meth and porn. God is good ALL THE TIME.

Psalm 22 is an all time favorite of mine. Written 1000 years before crucifixion was invented and 1500 years before Christ.
I HIGHLY suggest that you watch a sermon on "the crimson worm". Jesus is the Crimson worm. It will take whatbyou now know about psalm 22 and make it 1000x more powerful.

I stumbled across your video today. I am a struggling Christian. Fell away for awhile. I never knew the meaning behind why Jesus said "My God, My God, Why have you forsaken me" I immediately started crying after you showed where it came from Psalm 22. Thank you for sharing this. The Lord works in mysterious ways and I believe it was Jesus proclaiming himself before me by putting this video in front of me today. I am a Sinner, but most of all I am a Believer that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. He is The Way, The Life, and The Truth. Thank your for sharing this video.

Theres so much information in it you wont know what to do with it including a page or two dedicated to all the old testament prophecies and where they were fulfilled. My favorite is in Genesis chapter 3 which was written about 1600 years before Jesus was even born. It says that God says to the serpent that He will put enmity between the womans offspring and the serpents offspring. "He will bruise his head and he will bruise His heel." Or in other words, someone will come who will be wounded by the serpent while simultaneously dealing a fatal blow to the serpent.

I myself walked with the Lord Jesus, and fell away like a wandering sheep from the fold. Thank Jesus for Loving me, and leading me back. Unfortunately, I just loss my oldest daughter to drugs, suicide. My oldest son to drug overdose just within a few months apart. What a wake up call, that satan can snatch you in a blink of an eye. This sermon is one of the few things keeping me sane. I have been dealing with many doubtful intrusive thoughts and this video is helping me fight those thoughts and not doubt God or the Bible. I am going to continue going through the motions and trusting God. He has a plan for me and I will be able to use this pain to help others. I belive Jesus died on the cross for my sins and I am saved. I love the evidence he gives to make us belive even more.
Make sure you are not dealing with Scrupulous OCD. If so, then seeking reassurance by watching videos like this will only make it worse in the long run.

You study it and you find the answers to your questions. It is the best way to get to an answer instead of asking the question, you do the research, that way you will be satisfied with the findings.

Right I’m so glad that the Lord has blessed us with people like him. My spirit is truly refreshed when I listen to his sermons because he only preaches the truth unlike other preachers. This is very, very, very intense and profound. I have to listen to this again and again. As a Christian I've had a persistent question "am I sure the Bible is the Gold standard ". I discovered Voddie via his essay in The Supremacy of Christ in a Postmodern World. Such a gifted teacher. His essay is my favorite part of that book.
Oh The Supremacy of Christ in a Postmodern World, I found only a peice of that surmon years ago on FB. The serch for more of Voddie began - the whole sermon, then this, then on marriage then.... helping him in Africa. I pray he has fully recovered from his heart disease. I believed in "intelligent design" from my earliest childhood, a "navy brat" two years in Barcelona, two in Naples, arriving back state-side at six. I believed because the Spanish masons building the new apartment next door, believed, and explained so much to me, as a little boy, explaining the "reason" I saw. When I was in Naples, very similar, building a brick structure apartment building next door, and I've always seen "the hand of God" in nature, stone, trees, biology, everything I know of science is pointing to God. I tried to believe as a teen, but wanted my liberty more than I was willing to subdue my spirit to authority. I tried to not believe, but that was simply impossible. In 82, serving in Beirut, a Marine, I felt like God was divining me, separating me, and I was deeply afraid in my heart. I couldn't make myself bow down there, having ignored God's call, and I tried to drink it away, when I returned in spring of 83. Then I was invited to Church, and finally heard a sermon that called directly to me, in preaching on Lazarus, the visiting evangelist touched on "the faith of the centurion", and "Jesus marveled". I got saved that day, I've studied, questioned, looked all around, but never had reason to question my faith since. I've only recently come across Voddie Baucman, but have found his words true, substantial, and he knows the Word, and teaches it. I've lived around the world almost sixty years, and nothing I've ever seen, can even provide question of The Word. "The 25,000 archeological sites" has been an issue from my youth, as a British historian, took the Bible in the early 1800's, and discovered the "fabled cities of the Bible" Sodom, Gomorrah, some nine cities in a decade, demonstrating once, for all, the truth of the old testament. I saw that at about eight, one of the powerful confirmations of my "natural childhood faith". I have received strong support of the Gospel in just a few preachings from this Man of God.

My teacher! You've corrected so many lies I've believed! I tell people Mr. Voddie is my online teacher! Wisdom calls out! Keep him here Lord so he can continue to teach us who seek to please You! That way we can kick butt for the Kingdom!
I have listened to this preaching three times, because I have never been able to "hold on to" all the intricacies Voddie so easily espouses, and so rationally defines as "evidence, beyond doubt". I've been saved since 83, and at sixty four, continue to learn to lean into my faith, constantly. "I am a man of science", and everything I've seen, every gospel I've heard, meets the burden of "evidence". I entered into electronics at seven, chemistry shortly after, biology as well, I've studied the sciences all my life, and they do very well to explain "how God's Creation functions", within this closed sphere we call "earth". I find it truly incredible, the vast majority of physicists, will lay claim to the fact, "matter pops in and out of existence, randomly, in the middle of space, nothing", and they see no magic, no miracle, it's simply a "phenomenon they've not yet explained with facts, yet we believe it's a matter of random activity, something can pop out of nothing, because its antithesis, "equal existence" can also pop in and out of existence, thereby "balancing the equation to nothing, zero".
Science is a wonder-filled art. it allows us to understand the mechanical workings of "matter, energy, light, entropy" but it is entirely man-made, or "man's observations", there is no epiphany, there is absolutely nothing present for science, that isn't present for the Bible, as so aptly demonstrated with such undeniable accuracy. I believe in science, because it explains how I see things. Ordinary, regular, earthly things, that exist before my very eyes. To this date, there isn't the least understanding of memory, person, personality, our very awareness, while many have stated over the past century to have an exact understanding, only to be discarded out of hand, for lack of evidence.
I read the Bible as a young boy, because I read a book written by a British archeologist, who chose to believe the Bible, early 19th century, and went to "The Holy Land" and proved the existence of all "the fabled cities of the Bible", providing our current knowledge of Sodom, Gomorrah, Nineveh, in the end, many archeologists have followed, and the whole of our "Bible" is well documented in archeology.
"I don't follow archeology, or science in any way to prove my faith, because it can't. I follow it because it is a gift, it has meaning, and explains culture, community, and is little different all around the world. I have faith because I was troubled, and finally had to cry out for help, and got it. I share the gospel that is true, in faith, and it is received in faith, or not received. I am the least of Christians, and I need the teaching, no less than everyone else. My earthly knowledge is useful in work, sharing wealth, and living in a material world. I believe in this gift, I will also have a specific understanding of my being, when I meet my Lord and God. I have only begun to truly learn to pray, there is always more work to do in our hearts, God is patient. I am greatly blessed by this ministry. I am disabled, rarely leave my home, and I depend on "The Gospel" as it is preached, for my faith, my salvation and my strength to go forward, I couldn't do it without.

I believe because I sought after God and studied his word and the holy spirit revealed himself to me and a change came into my life that I can not deny he showed me that I needed Jesus and I excepted him he has done what my parents couldn't proved his truth to me !
Just heard of Voddie , and so far what I've heard from listening to his teachings & messages, so far I have found him to be biblically correct on what I've heard at this point.

Wow! God knows what He's doing. Not only are we without excuse because of the law written in our hearts and the declaration of the heavens and the earth of God's glory, and the incarnation, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ, in this century we are really without excuse given this type of knowledge that is available regarding God's Word.

I was trying to understand the book of Revelation and trying to figure out what the mark of the beast was when I came across a seminar on this topic. The Seventh-day Adventists’ church is all about understanding Revelation and studying bible prophecy. I highly recommend checking it out. I learned so much. It all made sense and all the questions I had were answered.
It is a reliable collection of historical documents written by eye witnesses during the lifetime of other eye witnesses. They report supernatural events that took place in fulfillment of specific prophecies and claim that their writings are divine rather than human origin

Remember he is not 'proving' the Bible. He is explaining reasonably why he bows to the authority of the Bible. He states upfront that he refers back to the Bible as there is no higher source then the Bible.
Remember also that the Bible is a collection of books, 66, written by 40 authors over a period of 1,500 years. Pastor Voddie is not simply referencing one book to prove his statements as true, rather he is quoting many books pointing back to the same truth. His discussion on Bible prophecy is the most evident.
If you don't believe in the Bible that is your affair, as sad affair, but your affair. I and this pastor are not here to make you believe. This is not Islam and no man or woman today has the ability to convert someone through choice much less coercion. The take home message is that the pastor presented a well thought out, evidentiary reason that he believes the Bible is what it says it is. His reasoning is sound and logical.
We do believe in a sound doctrine- as given by the Lord Jesus Christ. Praise to Jesus.It's so incredible, because I a long time ago. (when i was a luke-warm Christian. ) I always believed the Lord wrote and conceived all that's in the bible. (which he did.) But my interpretation was not well placed. I believed his words to be dusty, old, out of step, incredibly long winded- and tasteless. I struggled a lot understanding the text. I mainly did so because I think i forced so much pressure on myself to understand every word. To read it like a regular Dr.Suess or ABC book. Never clicked though. so I stopped reading altogether. NEVER DO THIS. PLEASE. YOU WILL NEED EVERY SINGLE WORD IN THIS BOOK EVERY DAY. you stop reading, you will get confused, and conflicted on issues that you cannot figure out alone!Anyway- Genesis was especially GRUELING.(now it's practically my fav.)I reccomend- if your having trouble reading your bible. Still read it. Never let the thing out of your site.And stop trying to cram your own images of today's culture into it. Because the bible was written TO BELIEVERS. not for pagans. Until you believe you are spiritually blind. The Gospel is for Pagans though. So if you want- I would start in the gospels.Again, All of the 66 books, have their own flavor to it. There is comedy, romance, thrills, poems, justice, ALOT OF DEATH. Read the book and take your time. Learn the people's names. Learn where they are. Figure out who is most like you. Who would you be friends with? TAKE EVERYTHING IN THIS BOOK AND FIND OUT ALL YOU CAN.It's pure wisdom people. I think by remembering these books were written by people (divinely inspired of course, by our Lord Yeshua) with their own feelings, despairs, and faith, it makes the book less daunting and fun. I began writing a long post, but that was not what was called for. I am not a good Christian, theologian, or apologist. My belief in the Bible as the final authority is in reverse as I guess it is for man gentile's that became Christians. I found the evidence that Jesus was God and resurrected from the dead to be overwhelming in a courtroom sense. Then I saw the change in people that became Christians, imperfect people and sinners still, but changed for the better. Then I believed and I became changed as well. Jesus believed the Bible was the word God (confusing I know) so I believed since He is my Christ. In the end it is my Faith in God.
The Bible is all about Jesus. Have you ever read a holy book where all of the heroes are seriously flawed? Well, all except Jesus.
Do I have my doubts at times? Yes. Are there parts of the Bible that I have questions or disagreements? Yes. So I study those that believe, those that don't believe. In study the academics as well.
Just because someone says something is true doesn't make it true. Just because he doesn't defend the Bible because he claims it's the highest authority, doesn't convince me of this. It's comical really. That alone makes his entire discussion worthless. Take that same idea and apply it to the Koran or any other "holy" book and tell me if you would accept that!
I shall warn you, i have written without much regard for length. I should've been more mindful. Because now this just seems unfair.
I assure you, i won't be offended if you do not read, or you skim, or you even don't reply. I am only writing to include my personal explanation. Perhaps so you might get something out of it?

There comes a point where you cannot convince a person because they just don't care. A person who THINKS they have no stake in an argument- or depends on the instructor to convince them doesn't have the capacity to even listen. Let alone flesh out questions to debate someone back. I find that what Mr. Voddie was saying was;

(The Bible has passages dedicated to Questions like Job)But that any Questions about the validity of the the Bible has been tried and estimated and calculated already. So, if you see that all these people for all this time has tried to disprove the God of Creation or "debunk" His perfect word & followers-
yet have nothing little over "It makes no sense. Why can't he just show himself if he is real?" I also find it comical. Because if he wasn't real, then where/why/how/what is the reason everything is here? An explosion? From nothing? And whose qualified let alone trustworthy enough to investigate such gestures?

The Bible should be understood as a "Given." Like how water makes something wet. The immense coordination has everything to do with the fact that the Bible has been around for a long time. The Bible would never be this well compiled, this hauntingly accurate, nor prophetically truthful if it were not under sovereign decree. As The Lord has made his word Final and unchanging.
Finally, i agree with you that i never tire of hearing the fantastic stories of Vishnu and Shiva and Bhudda. But i have not heard a single account on their behalf from their respective followers having any such coherent honor and laborious production like the Bible does (and along those lines the Hebrew Bible).

+Justin Fain Have your read the Koran and the historical background to the book? I have, and I have done the same with the Bible. There is much in the Koran that is true, an actual account of history. There is also much that is not true which is fairly obvious when read, and much that is true and evil. You cannot make the same logical claims about the Koran. The stories within have been changed many times. The Koran is 500 years newer than the New Testament of the Bible and uses much of the Bible as a jumping off point. Yes, I know their are billions that disagree with me on my points above, but you can look into it yourself.
What Islam offers is a very structured religion and a way to earn your way to god. I think most people want God. This is fairly obvious when scientists claim there is a genetic predisposition to seek god(s).
Now let's look at the differences between Islam and Christianity on their paths to getting to god and God.
Islam says if you do this and that you can earn your way to god.
Christianity shows that we are not good enough/worthy enough to earn our way to god. The best of us are evil in the sight of the Lord. The Old Testament gives the Law of God to the Jews to follow and none of them could keep the laws perfectly. The New Testament gives us the only one that could keep the Law perfectly and He was God/man. The only way to God for us is through a gift of mercy.
Look, no one will ever 'prove' to you on a scientific basis that the Bible and God are true and real. I think it can and is proved in an evidentiary basis, but you must be fully open to the stated testimonies of the people at the time of Jesus.
If you don't believe that is okay. Unlike other belief systems a true Christian will not put you to the sword if you don't. Yes, I know history has shown those who would do so, but they were not following Jesus as they did so. If you don't believe then you don't think there is help and love from the person of Jesus, and you don't believe in Hell of the Bible. If that is the case you should not care if Christians believe you are destined for Hell.
Don't forget that Christians believe they themselves should go to Hell if not for Jesus paying the price of sin for us. We are no better than you. Our lives have been changed as we walk and grow under the commands of God, but we are still as sinful. We are in this fact all hypocrites of a sort in we say there is perfection to strive for but we cannot attain that perfection.

This teaching has been something that I needed to hear.
Why should Jesus offer prayers to be saved from a fate that he was knowingly supposed to endure in order to redeem all humanity from the power of sin? How could Jesus have entertained the thought that God forsook him if by his allegedly pre-planned divinely ordained death humanity was supposedly given its only means of attaining salvation?
I'm not a theologian but:
1) Jesus didn't expect to be saved from it. He was, understandably, dreading the absolute torture He was about to go through. However, He was willing to go through that in order to save the world. You can see in that passage that at the end of every prayer, He submits Himself to His fate. It's important to note that, if Jesus wanted to save Himself, He could have done so at any point. Jesus' prayer models for us that it's okay to wrestle with God, so long as we accept His will in the end. Do you know another God who wants us to bring all of our messy emotions to Him?
2) In Jesus' time, the Psalms weren't numbered the way they were now. People referred to them by their first lines. Sort of like some hymn titles. For example, if I were to say, in my church, "Take my life and let it be," the others there would think of the whole song, or at least finish the lyric: "consecrated, Lord for thee." If you're not familiar with that hymn, then if I said, "Hey, Jude," you'd think of the whole song, wouldn't you? All that to say, when Jesus said the first line of Psalm 22, the Jewish people around would have thought of that Psalm. It's a song of lament, full of prophecies of Jesus on the cross, and it ends with praise: "He has done it!"

Philippians 2:9-10. Truth of scripture.
A whole lot of people came to Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit before the Bible was compiled. They heard the witness of transformed people and came to Christ. The Bible, when it became available, confirmed what had happened in their spirit.
This knowledge is crucial to every Christian. 1 Peter 3:15. Such a blessing.
