Why is that? Where did Jesus say he was the judge, not you saying that but Jesus saying that.?

Amazing sermon from a loyal servant of God who truly understands that Revelation is to be read as a symbolic Doxology that fills God's people with comfort and motivation to endure to the end. Voddie Baucham's sermons on Revelation are amazingly concise and hold the correct viewpoint similar to RC Sproul, Sam Storms, GK Beale, NT Wright, Kim Riddlebarger, Alistair Begg, Sinclair Ferguson and many other (idealist amillennial perspective) who don't push that escapism you see in the "left behind" and "late great planet earth" movies introduced by John Darby and are now preached in churches. God bless you and thank you for the post.

      @mbfrommb3699 Před měsícem

Part 1/2 Except that Bible prophecy has never been fulfilled symbolically or allegorically. Yes, there are symbols but once the symbols are understood the prophecy becomes literal. Jesus is the Messiah because He fulfilled over 100 specific prophecies literally. If you have trusted in Jesus for salvation then you are a brother in Christ to me so I am not here to attack you, however, the view as to the context of Eschatology Voddie has is terribly incorrect. You like him point to the modern portrayal of "Dispensationalism" such as from Darby, and the "Left Behind" series. The problem is that this is a lie. "Dispensational Premillennialism" whether we agree with it did not begin with Darby. If you believe that this view is "New" like many today, then you're not being told the truth. "Dispensational Premillennialism" is one of the oldest views, which was lost over time.
Premillennialism the idea that the 2nd Coming comes before the Millennial Kingdom is over 2500 years old. I would argue Genesis 1+2 proves Premillennialism but it doesn't become clear unless you understand the writings of early Christians and Jews.
      Early Christian writings:
      Barnabas, AD First Century
“Therefore, children, in six days, or in six thousand years, all the prophecies will be fulfilled. Then it says, ‘He rested on the seventh day.’ This signifies at the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus, He will destroy the Antichrist, judge the ungodly, and change the sun, moon, and stars. Then He will truly rest during the Millennial reign, which is the seventh day.” Epistle of Barnabas 15:7-9
      Commodianus, AD 240
“We will be immortal when the six thousand years are completed.” Against the Gods of the Heathens 35 “Resurrection of the body will be when six thousand years are completed, and after the one thousand years, the world will come to an end.”
Against the Gods of the Heathens 80
      Victorinus, AD 240
“Satan will be bound until the thousand years are finished; that is, after the sixth day.” Commentary on Revelation 20.1-3
      Methodius, AD 290
“In the seventh millennium we will be immortal and truly celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.” Ten Virgins 9.1
Notice the framework 6 days or 6000 years as the dominion of mankind (we toil as humans) Then Jesus comes and reigns for 1000 years (1 day the Sabbath) and we are immortal.
From Genesis 1 Adam and Eve to Revelation 21(since Rev 22 is us entering eternity) is based on a 7000-year biblical calendar. 6000+1000 =7000 years. 6000 years of human dominion to the 2nd Coming +1000 years reign.
Jews have believed in this framework for a long time, it's one of the main reasons they don't believe Jesus is the Messiah is because it wasn't the year 6000 yet and He didn't defeat all their enemies.
      www.chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/607585/jewish/Significance-of-the-year-6000.htm
      www.jewishanswers.org/ask-the-rabbi-category/the-basics-of-judaism/the-messiah/?p=998
      YT short (Jews)
      czcams.com/video/cafiO8wgmnU/video.html
      czcams.com/video/z3pQ-RzKjzM/video.html
So Premillennialism is not new. But we are to test it.
In Genesis 2 it says 15 Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”
Now we know Adam ate, did he die in the next 24 hours? No.
Genesis 5:5 So all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died. (930 years)
Notice no one ever lived to 1000 years old. This is significant when Jesus (and us) live to 1000 years old and beyond in Rev 20.
So Adam died " for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” that he ate. He never made it to day 2 year 1001.
We see Abraham live about 2000 years from Creation, end of Day 2.
      i.pinimg.com/originals/23/4b/29/234b29459fa6e1e310e97cab8394f9ee.png
David lived about 3000 years from Creation end of Day 3.
Now it's been debated that the crucifixion (32AD) was the year 4000 or the destruction of the Temple in 70AD was the year 4000 but that means that the year 6000 is somewhere about 2032-2070AD. That Messiah (Jesus) will come at or before the year 6000.
This is the biblical framework. There are 120 Jubilees (50 year periods) from Adam and Eve to the 2nd Coming and 2025-2075 AD is the last one according to the Dead Sea Scroll Calendars dated 300-100ABC.
      czcams.com/video/BFWEgjm3MXs/video.html
Whether you agree with Premillennialism or not I hope these resources show that Darby and the Left Behind series have nothing to do with how old or how the view came about. In Part 2 I will attempt to show the same format shows "Dispensational Premillennialism" is just as old of a view. Take care.
      (Continued in Part 2).

At around the 14:45 mark, brother Voddie explains why we worship Jesus, and points out the reason is that "Jesus is God." I just wanted to add the verses from 1 John 5:20-21 which confirms that statement by brother Voddie.
20 "And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us an understanding that we may know Him that is true, and we are in Him that is true, even in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life (e.g. John 17:3).

Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath. Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest". Those who are in Christ Jesus have entered into His rest. Yes, corporate worship and fellowship is great! And actually, the Sabbath, when given to the children of Israel, was to be observed from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday. It was part of the Old Covenant. And we need to be careful not to become legalistic. Jesus has established a New Covenant based on grace and better promises. The scriptures teaches we are no have no opinion on how others honor God. Sunday worship is great! Saturday worship is great! Wednesday worship, too!Worshipping God everyday is greater. And if you’re hesitant to get married because you lost your immediate and easy way out then obviously NO, you should Not get married.

So why did He say "why do you call me good? There is none good but God". I have been struggling with this for some time. You are God! So why say such a statement? It doesn't make sense to me why He would make such a statement, after declaring He IS God so many times. I could use some assistance here my brothers and sisters in Christ.

I don’t think my comment sent, but to paraphrase Jesus wasn’t saying that he wasn’t good, but rather by asking that question to the man, making him think about his own words and realize there is no man or woman that is good only God. After this the wealthy man said he has kept all the commandments and Jesus said if you are truly good sell all your belongings and follow me and the man walked away sorrowful because money was his idol and not God. Mark ch 10: 17-22 is what is referenced. Our works is not what makes us good but all good flows from God hope this helped brother have a blessed day ❤

Jesus was telling him; Don’t call me “Good” unless you call Me God.
You see, the man thought that HE was good. He actually believed that he had KEPT the commandments.
What Jesus pointed out to him was that he had broken the most important one.
“Thou shall have no other God before Me.”
He lived his wealth more than he loved his God. That’s why he couldn’t leave his wealth and follow Jesus. In other words- he was an IDOLATER.
      You’ve got it reversed.
Jesus was not saying that He WASN’T God, He was saying that He WAS.
I.e. the man knew that Jesus was GOOD (and so do we). So His point was- that He WAS God, because ONLY God is GOOD.
That’s why I said you’ve got it reversed. Lol
Oh btw, the POINT was totally missed by this guy. And the reason he missed it was because he thought that HE was “good” also.
And “good” people don’t feel they need a Savior.
He needed to Repent and recognize that he was a SINNER.
Hope that clears it up for you.

Part 1/2 There are many good things about Voddie's sermon but there are a lot of errors as well. This is what's frustrating about teachers today who preach on Revelation or Eschatology, is although they say they understand the Old Testament and Revelation they don't. One of the frustrating things about Voddie Baucham is that he does love Jesus, but he's very flawed in his Eschatology.
And if you're very flawed in your Eschatology which goes from Genesis to Revelation and makes up over 1/3 of Scripture then you're going to be a poor teacher and preacher on theology and doctrine. I am not saying Voddie is not saved, but with these topics he is a very poor teacher. I'm going to repost a comment I made and hopefully the resources help.
    (Repost)
"Bible prophecy has never been fulfilled symbolically or allegorically. Yes, there may be symbols that represent things and once the symbols are understood the prophecy becomes literal.
Jews have believed in this framework for a long time, it's one of the main reasons they don't believe Jesus is the Messiah is because it wasn't the year 6000 yet and He didn't defeat all their enemies.
    www.chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/607585/jewish/Significance-of-the-year-6000.htm

    czcams.com/video/z3pQ-RzKjzM/video.html

As I pray, I thank God for Jesus and what He did. I thank God for the Holy Spirit. How to I praise Jesus while I'm talking to God? I pray and praise both but that makes them 2. Also, the Father is on the throne and Jesus sits next to Him. That's 2 thrones. When Jesus puts His feet on this earth and completes The Father's will, when the new heaven and new earth have come, will God be on the throne and Jesus His own throne? Where is the Holy Spirit? Does He have a throne? Will He be done away woth because He also is part of the Trinity but the bible doesn't speak of the Holy Spirit at the end? I want to make sure that I give Jesus the praise He deserves. Is worshipping the Father, also worshipping Jesus, so I got Him covered?

@lindabuc9022 Yes, I believe that, but God the Father stayed in heaven while Jesus became flesh here on earth. The Father didn't leave heaven. So there is the Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. From one the Father yet each has His own responsibility. Jesus sits on the right hand of the Father. I understand that Jesus took on the role as the Father, to carry out His will, making Him God Himself. Jesus finished His plan and went back to the Father. So now are they 2 or 1? God said " Let us make them in our image." Us is more than one.

In REVELATION 21:22, But I saw no temple in it for the Lord God almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23 The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. Chapter 22:" Throne of God and of the Lamb." But then in chapter 22 verse 3.It says,"and there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it and His servants shall serve Him." So it doesn't say "Them" it says,"Him. " I'm just commenting out loud. This tells me there is one throne. When they speak, " the throne of God and the Lamb, it is one." We will all find out soon enough. I hope Jesus explains everything or when we get there, we will know all like as if we always knew. Where I am confused, I put my faith and trust in Jesus.

I dont see how pastor gets Jesus being God out of the passage in John's salutation. it doesnt say anything close to that. i get that from the quote of "if youve seen me you have seen the father". By virtue of the Holy spirit God is Jesus but Jesus is not God..this is one of the most difficult concepts to really get about the Trinity. getting hung up on whether or not Jesus is God the father is just not necessary because redemption is not based on that and since he said he and the father are are one and those Who haveseen me have seen the father, that's all that matters to me .he should have not tried to use that passage in revelation as proof of what he "thinks"

Scriptures in the OT that speak about the Lord Jesus Christ restoring Israel to Himself and reigning from the throne of David in Jerusalem over all the nations of the world with the rod of iron for a thousand years just as the book of Revelation says in ch 20, Did you know Voddie it says 1000 years 6 times because God knew that there will be people like you who twist the word of God in Revelation and make it pretty

Love Baucham...but Allegorical translations of bible scripture is the cause of most false religions in the world today. Does Revelation have imagery and things John saw that he only described based on his understand at that time? Yes. But people need to stop acting like the men of the bible wrote things thinking "Yeah let me use Allegorical concepts and divide things in multiples and square roots"...They were regular men being shown great things and they wrote what they heard or saw, that's it. If someone took my Journals and wanted to find patterns of how many times I used the word AND to mean something they could but those things were not placed there by me for a hidden message. You find what you already predisposed to see based on your belief. A trinity believer looks for patterns of 3 all time. A oneness believer will do other patterns to justify their belief in the number 1. It's very dangerous to ever use this type of translations in teaching is just the bottom line.

The OP, Jayhansen, is not calling Jesus a liar, he is referencing what Voddie said during his sermon about how if the president of the United States pulled up in a black limo, no matter what we say about him in our homes, we would give him respect, or if the the Queen of England showed up, people would bow and curtsy before her showing honor to the office.
I’m sorry, I wouldn’t bow or curtsy to any man or woman, let alone an illegitimate leader.
      Is God in control?
Absolutely, but He gives us free will and just because a person is a leader doesn’t mean they automatically deserve our respect.
If every leader is worthy of being shown honor simply because of their office, then our forefathers were wrong for going against the crown and starting our own nation, which just so happens to have a Constitution that protects our right to freely worship Jesus.
      So I must disagree Voddie.
There is no way I’m going to show respect to an evil human being.
Elijah didn’t show respect to the evil King and Queen, Ahab and Jezebel. He called them out constantly.
Jesus didn’t show respect to the wicked Pharisees and Sadducees of His day and He also called them out.
Respect for leaders is not given because God has allowed them to be in control, but respect is given to leaders based on whether or not they are upholding God’s law.
So if that presidential black limo shows up, I will be calling that man a liar as well.
