I agree with the speed limiter in the car to the speed of the road, with the new 20mph roads it's really hard to do that speed, feels like you are not moving BUT more annoying at 20mph is the cars in front are now gone and you have 10 cars 2" off your rear bumper, if everyone had to do the same speed, all good.

You can't even use cruise control on most cars if you are lower than 3rd gear and lower than 25mph

Best way to not get caught speeding is don’t speed but still be interested on how cameras work 😉😆🙈

Well because there are no police patrolling the roads anymore I've noticed that drives that abuse the laws are now removing there number plates and I would imagine this type of practice will be on the increase

Please produce evidence of this claim as I see nothing to support it.

Total revenue generation. Your point about how people warn each surely has an equal outcome of slowing traffic down. They want to penalise and generate more revenue instead.

I am personally in agreement for the new speed Lidar cameras, in fact I would fit one outside my own home if it increases road safety and help reduce risk to pedestrians and other road users. Sadly, quite often these devices are used to gain revenue which has nothing to do with road safety. I would like all school and playground areas monitored with speed monitoring systems. I also honestly think all new vehicles should have 360 degree Lidar Dashcam's fitted and they record reckless and dangerous driving which has no business on public roads. No more crash for cash scammers. If drivers want to speed, then they should do it on dedicated race tracks and skid-pans where they can only kill themselves, and not innocent people. Obey the driving lays or loose your licence and ability to drive on the road. Lidar should be able to detect if the driver and passengers are licenced to drive, (Yes, passengers may be required to be checked in the case of the driver is under instruction to learn to drive.) Time bad and dangerous driving was removed from our roads, and all drivers and vehicles are held accountable in a court of law, or dealt with are appropriately in case of first time offences. I enjoy driving, that was until fuel prices hit 200 pence a litre, I still remember serving petrol at 23d a gallon when I was 15/16 years old. Time energy companies were none profitable, so all walks of life can live a reasonable life.
Sorry to disappoint those drivers who like to speed or race on public roads, hopefully these new detection and monitoring devices will reduce dangerous driving and allow good drivers to enjoy driving on our British roads. PS, I lived and worked in Norway, Denmark, Greece, Turkey, Sardinia, Malta, Gibraltar, Spain, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany and many other countries around the world, each has it's own laws, some more stricter than the UK. Some countries even hang you at the side of the road, especially for hitting their family shrines. Drive within the law, try and take your advanced driving lessons and test to save innocent lives and encourage better professional driving.
