I might try that little hinge to keep my 3d printed lightsabers in while handling because they just fall out, pretty clever idea because it's so easily done
Honestly the 'General Grievous' one from the early 2000's was better because it actually spun to mimic his spinning arms in Episode 3. It made an awful clicking noise when it did so but by jerking your wrist back and forth it would spin freely in one direction and lock in the other, allowing you to constantly spin it by refreshing the momentum. I lost my spinning part several years ago and both of the lightsabers eventually broke or lost the ability to function even with new batteries, but I still remember using it A LOT.
Do you have the “Mace Windu The Phantom Menace Lightsaber”. I believe it was from Hasbro around 2002. It came out around the time of AOTC. I remember waking up on my birthday and opening it. Great memories!
They have the technology such as the hilt for the spinning Grevious double sided connecting lightsaber but from the Styrofoam I can tell they didn't want to spend that money
My wife calls these the "Darth Helicopter Lightsabers" and i cant blame her because i call Ezra and Kanan: Space Aladdin and Ponytail Prinze Jr. I can rant very seriously about Exar Kun or the Yuuzan Vong but even though rebels is pretty good and well written i refer to it like im an old guy saying "Pokey- mans" instead of Pokémon
This is more of a costume prop than a high quality product. Designed for show rather than play. I had a count Dooku one from the same company as part of a costume and was super disappointed because it was too flimsy to duel with.
I had the most recent build a saber version of the inquisitor saber from hasbro. It was so fun. My brother got the dark saber the same day so we spent the hole day duelling. Me winning each time useing obi-ones form
I appreciate that he opens up the lightsabers and has fun instead having them all in their packaging forever
