  • A breathtakingly beautiful stroll up one of the Eastern Sierra's most pristine watersheds - McGee Pass.
Filmed in August of 2019. Enjoy :)

Nice video! Thanks for making the trek to Big McGee. Love that trail, but spent the night at Steelhead lake which is also beautiful. Looks like I need to put Big McGee on the list.

Thanks for taking me to McGee Lake again! I was there in June to see the wildflowers and it was just gorgeous! I’m planning to go back up there to see the fall colors.

Another outstanding hike presented by Sheety33. I love the way you include close-ups of flowers and butterflies. For those of us who backpack for the total immersion in pristine nature, these little details give more of a sense of the full range of the experience, the vast and the tiny.

Camped at Grass Lake, below Steelhead, with my wife in 1974. The area is more beautiful than I remember. Must return.

Went there in 1986. Poor fishing, beautiful scenery. On the way up we somehow got ourselves on the wrong side of McGee creek. Trail petered out and had to cross a boulder strewn creek side, having to remove and pass our packs to each other several times. Horrible. We thought it would never end but finally was able to re-cross and hit the trail....

Hi Scott! It was so nice to see you at The Stove this morning. We drove up to McGee Creek to look at the turning leaves. Next we will get to hike it!

Very nice meeting you this morning - you have my parents thinking I’m some sort of “star.”😉 We attempted McGee Creek yesterday but there was no parking. Right now is the time to go as we could tell colors are peaking. Enjoy the upcoming hike!

Stunning! I've never been, but it looks like a great trail and possibly less crowded than others so that's good. Or maybe they were all well timed shots. Either way, I thoroughly enjoyed your trip.

Coleman Outdoors thanks! The area is stunning, and am sure if we kept going higher the scenery would have expanded to more alpine lakes. Time to go back!

Curious if there are significant concerns for bears, especially if you are camping at Big McGee Lake? I plan to hike/stay there on July 1st this year, as snow allows I guess
