Galaxy S21 Ultra vs S10+ Camera Comparison!

  • Hey guys, hope you’re doing well.
    So this is my new phone, the Galaxy S21 Ultra. It’s the newest, fanciest flagship of flagships, for the next couple months anyway. The full Review is coming soon but in the mean time I can bring you guys a camera comparison between it, and the S10 Plus it’s replacing.
    When I watched all the reviews drop on this phone many actually complained about its’ camera performance and since then Samsung have released a software update in which they specifically mentioned that camera performance had been improved so let’s see if their efforts paid off.

At start I thought there isn't that much difference, but after some time I realized that it is completely different experience. One thing that S10 did better though, was edge detection in portrait mode. The background blur on S10 was more natural looking, but luckily there is option to tone it down a little on S21 Ultra.

    Not to mention, the S10+ still has the audio jack, heart rate sensor, microSD storage and a wider 0.5 lens. Depending on what you want from a phone, switching to the S21 Ultra might be worth it. What's definitely NOT worth it, is buying the S21 PLUS or the regular one, which don't even have optical zoom, same RAM and less resolution when compared to the S10+.

  • @kendallsmythe8744
    @kendallsmythe8744 Před 3 lety +4

    This was a very informative comparison. The only reason I was considering a new phone was to get an upgraded camera experience. However, between the Gcam mod and the stock Samsung camera app and editing apps along with the camera hardware, the pictures on the S10+ are pretty good. There is a notable price difference between the S10+ and the S21 Ultra and the only real selling point of the S21 series is the camera. The processor, refresh rate and battery are better on the S21 Ultra. But Samsung really touted the camera more than anything and to me, it's not that much better than the S10+ in these comparisons.
    It seems like a downgrade in a lot of ways. The S10+ processor, refresh rate and battery are more than enough for the average user or even power users. The 1TB ceramic S10+. Ceramic is more durable than Gorilla Glass Victus. 1TB onboard storage with the S10+ and 12GB of RAM when the highest capacity on the S21 Ultra is only 512GB. S10+ has a headphone jack for better audio quality. Wired should still be an option. Especially since phones have basically replaced mp3 players. No headphone jack on the S21 series. No expandable storage either. So you can put a 1TB memory card in the S10+ and have 2TB but only have 512GB of space on a newer, more expensive phone. That makes 0 sense.
    I can't think of any upgrade worth downgrading storage. This is my dilemma. I would like to be able to use 5G and have better cameras on a newer phone. But there is simply nothing for me to upgrade to. The closest thing would be Sony's new Xperia 1 III,which has the headphone jack, sd slot and camera upgrade. But only 512GB of internal storage and the 512GB might not even be available everywhere. The most basic expectation when upgrading to a new phone would be the ability to transfer all storage contents from one to the other. I have nearly maxed out the 2TB so I couldn't do a full transfer to a phone that only holds 1.5TB.

    Try to take a picture of everyone on an ultra-standing person and notice how the head turns into a snout and the whole figure and legs look unnatural. Experiment, but don't think much about the playful best photo unless you want the character to be really small in the photo and you will take photos from a distance.

    The s21 camera update from May really improved the photos. Before, my shots had a weird color cast and oversaturation.
    I'd be curious how you think your s21 camera is now.

    Thank you for a good comparison between the two S series phone that had captured my attention.
    The S21 Ultra is clearly better. S10 plus is not bad. So for those who are not ready to pay the big price tag of the latest flagship, going for the S10 Plus will not let you down either.
    The only thing that bothers me is the slow charging speed at 15w. Samsung only increased the charging speed to 25w and 45w starting with the Note 10 Plus.
    25w is the ideal charging speed for Samsung flagship at the moment. Takes around 40 minutes to get my Note 10 plus to 85% - 90% ish from 20%. Good enough and keep your battery life longer.

    Actually, at 0:30 the S21 Ultra would be a replacement for the S10 5G, not the S10 Plus. Also, Samsung devices used to be able to use both cameras at the same time. Samsung just removed the “mode” to do it.

    Im using the S10+ with 1TB memory because I take photo's with DSLR and droneshots 4K. So for be it would be stupid to upgrade, although whenever I don't have the camera with me I would prefer having the S21 ultra :)

      Yeah it's a real shame they didn't have a larger storage option this time around. Got to say though I'm loving the camera system.

    And how do you feel about the added weight of the S21 ULTRA? Do you like it? NOTE 10 plus all the way IMO. For 400 bucks for a new NOTE 10 plus on ebay compared to the 1400 for the S21 I think this is a no brainer.

    S21 ultra es una bestia. Pero si comparas la calidad con el precio. Es más lógico el s10 plus. De segunda mano un s21ultra cuesta más o menos 2.5 s10 plus lo cual veo una locura.

    • @Revolve-Studios
      @Revolve-Studios  Před 3 lety +1

      You're right, but most people get a 2 year subscription with their phone. I don't think many people would be replacing an S20 Ultra with S21 Ultra.

      @@Revolve-Studios that's true. I just put my s20 ultra on a 2 year. Would of went with s21 but in Canada the s21 ultra costed like $800 more, almost double and that wasn't worth it to me. Got the s20 ultra on a huge discount

      That's a good point of course, new phones are rarely "worth it" if buying phones outright. I am usually on a 2 year contract. Where I am, that actually works out cheaper than buying the phone.
