- 'Daddy Issues' and exploring our relationships with father figures as topics we haven't shied away from on the To My Sisters Podcast, and in this episode, we sit down with the wonderful Tope & Ije to discuss the lessons they've learned from being married for a combined 35 years. They share wisdom on the power of commitment, selflessness, and how they've approached raising confident daughters despite the culture we live in.

This was so reassuring. I had lost all hope for men with microphones infront of them. The wisdom and humble strength these two men displayed is appreciated.
The kind of content the should be viral. Well done ladies , and the brothers
Thank you so much ❤️
Agreed!!!
I'm loving the addition of the men to the podcast but I don't know if it's just me but there seems to be a technical issue with the addition of the new mics. Through headphones the audio is going back and forth between the left and right ear. Again it could just be me. Everything is still audible though.
I've experienced this too
Hopefully it will be resolved😊
Me too!
Hey sis, we appreciate your patience with us! We were trying something new and looks like the audio wasn’t the best with the new voices. Appreciate the feedback and we’ll do our best to alleviate in future episodes 🫶🏽
This was genuinely an amazing episode, coming from a sister with a fragile relationship with her dad. This was very much needed and informative to moving forward, wow thank you!!!
You’re so welcome, so happy our enjoyed ❤️
I don't know about how yet but this episode convinced me that it's never to late to bring back a relationship and that I can be the one to reach out first
A part of me always thought (and I'm still kinda feeling this way) that I spent so many years without having a proper relationship with my dad that I could continue on this path while being perfectly fine about it BUT seeing this kind of testimonies put so much into perspective "I wish I had that", "How can some fathers love and show so much love for their daughters but not mine?" and it'll be easy to stop at that and just make my dad at fault but I am also the one that can change the narrative (or at the very least try)
Anyway, to all my girls right here I wish you to be able to heal your daddy issues and have the strength to believe that "it's never to late", that "we can still do it [...] that relationship is always there to be had" as Ije said 🤗🙏🏻
Never forget that at the end of the day, parents are just humans and that mistakes can be made
Thank you for the amazing guests & to our big sisters as well 💟
Such incredible sentiments and thank you so much for the encouragement to the rest of the sisterhood 🥹❤️
First off, thank you sisters for being so consistent with your content! It’s honestly been a blessing and real treat 💕💕
I must add that the guest perspective and insights are so enriching to hear!
I didn't want this episode to end! I wish my dad would have pivot from a inherited rigid parenting style and would have been more soft and less conforming to societal norms of how a black, african parent should raise their daughter.
Although our bad relationship, tbis episode has given me hope and insight. Loved both guests' knowledge that they shared. This was truly an episode with lots of gems!
This is so healing but heartbreaking at the same time!
The book Ije recommended, called Essentialism is truly a great book. That's clear from the first few chapters - you won't regret it. Such a great episode - thanks!
Just placed an order for mine on Amazon. Can't wait to start reading!🎉
Aww this episode has been sooo valuable, as a parent truly thank you!

The audio is really bad, I really hope it improves. Difficult to hear in AirPods and in the car!
But this series is SOOOOOO necessary! Please continue on this journey!!❤️
Hey lovely, we appreciate you and our other sisters for letting us know! We were trying something new with our equipment and dubbing, and looks like the audio wasn’t the best. Appreciate the feedback and we’ll do our best to alleviate in future episodes 🫶🏽
