one tip not mentioned in the video, but others have probably said by now. the sub detection ability subs get, works to detect other subs below the surface, you can use it at the surface, which can be a great way to get rid of an enemy sub while near friendlies, while avoiding the danger of your self being detected.
As far as advice when pinging always do it from the side of the ship while moving.
Aerial ASW drop in a line facing away from the ship that launched it making hitting a target moving perpendicular to them is harder than hitting one moving towards our away.
fun fact real sub fights existed theres 1 video that took down a yamato super carrier.. so Subs should be the anti carrier class..
DDs originally were anti-carrier especially the IJN line.

Don’t get it we need mine layers and spotters that we can drop from planes onto islands. Also I can’t sleep so I think taking about subs is helping

Mine layers would certainly change the game... But you'd have to have the ability for them to lay the fields in advance. Or maybe have subs drop mines from the hulls like they used.
So... How do you counter them? Let's say i'm on a DD or BB or Cruiser, what can i do against sub?
I can imagine that i can outspot sub on some dd, fine. I can effectively charge them on some really fast DD's, fine. But how do i counter them in general? It looks to me as luck against homing torps, no?
Have to be more passive like you do in a cv match

Why not go as far as you can towards the enemy sit on the bottom wait till they pass you then come up to Periscope depth behind them and start picking them off from the rear? they'll be so confused and Scatter and then you're other forces can pick them off at their leisure. Submarines are like a sniper. Once discovered no mercy must be held back. Watch the movie Greyhound
Maybe they'll notice and kill you before you can dip underwater
I'm pretty new to the subs, but in my SUPER limited experience so far, is that getting caught in a bad spot and having low battery to escape means death. It could be done, but I'm guessing the success rate may not be worth this being a sure fire tactic. Though, I have little doubt you can break a push like this. Surviving the melee after is my concern. That being said, I think I'll give it a go in my next few games just to see. You may be on to something.

I haven't seen comments about torpedo selection, 2 or 3. Are both types guided by ping?
1 set is dummy fire the other is ping guided

you can take 3 caps and like 20 defence ribbons on a surface ship and wont get close to 1.9k base xp with 38k damage LOL
