The purpose of the video is to document a probationary firefighter skill. It was a one person skill that required the firefighter to disconnect the deck gun/ground monitor and connect it to a length of hose. In reality, as a team, all of this would be taking place simultaneously. This is just a small part of it. We filmed it so the PFF could review it.

I know this is over 5 years old but at 8:17 did the instructor have the trainee release the safety stop on the monitor to hit the target? The ONLY time that is to be done is when the monitor is in the deck gun mount and NEVER on the portable mount!!!!! Someone needs to reread the user manual on the monitor. I know because I was responsible for purchasing this type of equipment and read all the manufacture info to make my decisions. It's sad when the instructors violate equipment safety rules.

Nice video, but it hasn`t so much logics to deploy a portable monitor having a deck gun rigth there......next video show a hose laying of 100ft will be better.

Excuse my ignorance, can someone please tell me the purpose of the SCBA being used by one member and the rest are milling about aimlessly. Do they think about these videos before they actually film it?

Your ignorance is excused. It's what's known as "training". Do you think about your comments before typing them? ;)
