Thanks for covering Parmigiani Marc. Yes still a niche brand but definitely respected by connoisseurs. I believe they did the right thing by producing some entry level pieces in steel. The Tonda 1950 is a beauty :)
Thank you! Very well done and again a thoroughly thought-out video. Please may I ask that you keep them coming, Marc. It is wonderful to learn and see what is going on in the world of watches, their makers and machinery involved. I am into restoring and preserving watches. Regards Mark Maddison, Johannesburg, South Africa
Very well done video again Marc. You do a great job of explaining things for those who haven't done the deep research or don't have your level of knowledge on the subject in a way that is easy to understand. Thanks for this great series.
I was aware of the Sandoz foundation but not of their work in watchmaking. This is what I love about Switzerland, there is a certain je ne sais qui that makes people innovate and invest in what can be a stuffy field. Very impressive video Marc-André, fantastic work. And that oval watch, wow.
This is great series, and so much work was put in to it ! I do wish it would've been split into separate parts, there is just too much information for me to comprehend at once. Still keep up the good work !
Knowledge is real power, now I feel motivated to produce a time piece after watching this presentation. Put my design and engineering skills to good use for a one off, put my name on it:)
i love parmigiani fleurier so much. kinda sad that they are pivoting more towards integrated steel sports vibes, but hey, if it pays the bills and keeps the name alive, im here for it.
It's great to know the history behind the famous brands and clearly a large amount of research and effort goes into these videos. Fabulous work. Thank you Marc André . By the way do you prefer Marc or Marc André? Cheers :)
Once again a wealth of information about the brand. Thank you so much for sharing, very good work and at the same time really enjoyable to watch. The YG no-date Parmigiani and the MB&F Legacy both look great on your wrist, terrific choices. Quick question: I've heard that Parmigiani manufacture the Calatrava 5196 model for PP, perhaps the case and dial (if not the movement as well). Is that true? (if you know and can also disclose, of course). Thank you.
its very interesting and exciting to see a company rising over the years. I like parmigiani very much . it has something familiar if youknow what I mean
When I first heard of Parmigiani the italian cheese came to mind and I thought they were related :D No they are not and my investigation led me to a few of the things you have on this video. I came to know a few more through this as well. Really thanks a lot for sharing.
6:04 looks like that application is written in visual basic!!! I used to write applications like this in late 90s. Cutting edge watching making but not cutting edge software :)
+Mcmiloy very true, but in this case it's more of a marketing partnership between the two as you will find Apple Watches in Hermès stores, but you will never find a Parmigiani watch.
Thanks for covering Parmigiani Marc.

The Tonda 1950 is a beauty :)
Sure is, love it!
that's the beauty of small independent manufactures they are not driven by trends! they make their own one's.
Well said!

In 2008 i had the pleasure to meet Michel Parmigiani, what a wonderful and humble man.
He is indeed a great person, we like him a lot too. Best to you
These watches have incredible composition, coupled with perfect proportions. Thank you Mr. Marc
You're very welcome and indeed proportions and balance are key for a "natural" design.
Just discovered this channel, and quite happy I did. Superb content. Very insightful and educational...for us obsessive watch nerds.
Thanks and very happy to have you onboard ;) All the best to you
I love these who's who videos. Very informative, and who else is doing such good ones? No one I have found! Excellent, and very interesting!!
Many thanks for your comment, highly appreciated!!!

Thanks a lot, happy it goes through like this! Best to you

Thanks and no problem if you look at it twice ;)
Parmigiani watches are so beautiful, hope they will conquer more and more market share.
And with their very own identity! Best to you
Bravi, bravi, bravi. One of the best video of 2017 !!! Thank you.
Grazie mille!!!
thank you thewatches.tv, these are very interesting topics
Many thanks!

Excellent reporting. Great video from the machine shops to assembly. Keep up the good work.
This video is so good! It's really an excellent mini-documentary! Well done, sir.
Thank very much!
Superb video! Had only heard of them once before, now very impressed!
Can't get enough of this series. Love it !!
Those telescopic hands are cool.
Awesome. I love this series of videos. Very informative and interesting. Look forward to the next instalment!

2:31 this optical illusion got me. I had to watch several times before I could figure out the falling water effect. Great episode!
+SoCalFreelance And can you imagine the impact it must have made 200 years ago!!
more watch making history - so informative and a wonderful grasp of English

great presentation. keep on the food work
In love with the Tonda 1950
Thank you Marc very interesting.
Very interesting and very good, really appreciate these information packed videos.
its very interesting and exciting to see a company rising over the years.
I like parmigiani very much . it has something familiar if youknow what I mean
Very impressive. TWTV, keep up the good work!
+Atif Chaudhry Thank you and count on us ;)
Excellent report.....
Thanks MAD. Unexpected and very interesting :-)
Really like this!
Very interesting, thankyou.
Very welcome and thanks to you!
I love your Tonda MAD, how often do you wear it? Thinking of getting one myself.
When I first heard of Parmigiani the italian cheese came to mind and I thought they were related :D No they are not and my investigation led me to a few of the things you have on this video. I came to know a few more through this as well. Really thanks a lot for sharing.
+JF schnell Don't worry, you are not the only one to make this association ;) And thanks for your comment
Very informative!
great topic !
After watching this video I can only say that I have become a #Parmigiani fan.
Super interesting video! As always!
How does the background works? Is there a video about?
+visecekk That's part of the magic of postproduction ;)
amazing brand!!!!!
the new movement seems to share some vibrating technology with the new elprimero defy
Yes, there are indeed a few parallels, but this Genecand version uses a grasshopper escapement type and seems very tricky to finalise.
TheWATCHES.tv thanks for answering so fast, i love the way you explain things!!!
6:04 looks like that application is written in visual basic!!! I used to write applications like this in late 90s. Cutting edge watching making but not cutting edge software :)
+Abhishek Srivastava haha, let's say that it's reliable ;)
If they only knew how to market themselves. They would rightfully dominate more.
i found it very overwhelming, thank you
Nice and you're very welcome!
I'm not sure if this was deliberate, but you're missing on the Asian market.. or you only cover European?
If you mean in terms of groups and brands, then this is something we are currently working on. Best to you and have a great day.
merci pour cette vidéo.
Merci, c'est un plaisir!
Impressive!!
I miss your old glasses :(
And I miss my old eyes ;)
I think those new glasses are dope !
Never, probably quite costly though...
can you put some light on the design software watch makers use?
Ok, this a real topic in itself and I promise to do a full video on it.
Somehow this video is not a part of the "who is who" playlist.
What about Seiko?
is seiko in any group?
Yes, but look at this video czcams.com/video/NhsyhgHRCaI/video.html and hopefully we'll be able to fulfil this ;)
very interesting, thank you. for sure sandoz isn't really a name remembering ecology and sustainability ...
Hermes does supply apple for the luxury iwatch
+Mcmiloy very true, but in this case it's more of a marketing partnership between the two as you will find Apple Watches in Hermès stores, but you will never find a Parmigiani watch.
Hermes supplies Apple with straps for the Apple watch, I don't think that is going to help Parmigiani, or Hermes.
What about Parmigiani's relationship with Richard Mille. Vaucher makes the movements for all of RM's non tourbillon models.
+Kevin Spears That's true and APRP taking care of these tourbillons
this video was a little cheesy
Oh! please, those horrible frames of your glasses. ......
your glass too thic
I love your Tonda MAD, how often do you wear it? Thinking of getting one myself.
I wear it quite often, it's really a nice and elegant watch! The proportions are just right
