- Since I did the first one, I thought I'd get this lot out of the way. My personal favorite is the one for Diesel, so much intensity and sense of danger compared to the original Series 1 version.

Cosmic Highway! My latest original piece, going to be building up a colletion enough to fill an albums worth by the end of the year with 2 exclusive pieces for that video!

The Break Van variant is so interesting. I love how they chose to have descending notes at the end of each phrase - kind of foreshadows the demise of a certain brake van!
The Spiteful one.
@Nik Pirouz Yeah.
I hope we get an extended version of it.
0:00 Percy Takes the plunge variant
0:19 Pop goes the Diesel variant
1:07 A Chose shave variant
1:24 Break Van variant
@Alex Heredia It serves him right for making Douglas taking the blame for being late.
🗿🍷
Lae it tae me
@@200Mikeyyes but the fat controller was cross
It was dark when they brought floating cranes, cleared away the trucks & lifted Percy out. He was too cold & stiff to move by himself. So he was sent to the works next day on Henry's goods train.
Henry: did you like the water 🌊💦? Percy: No
Henry: I'm surprised to hear that, water 🌊💦 is nothing to a engine with determination!😮
Having finally been able to hear it clean, I think the 'Break Van' variant is my new favorite. The way it leads into the main theme and suddenly zips up several octaves at the point where the van is crushed (one of THE most visceral shots of the entire series) is masterful.
I've always liked the Breakdown train theme, it has nice rhythm.
Something so odd but nice sounding about the Series 2 version of the theme. I have grown an appreciation for the music duo for upgrading the theme each series, even if it’s just slight differences. Rather than reusing the same theme, each variation is different depending on the situation.
@@azuraltumbabic4239 lol why, I'm not really a major user tbh, what content do you suggest Azur?
Pull! Push! Backwards! Forwards! "We can't! We won't!"
Spectacular work as always, these recreations are absolutely spot on!
You know... That varient of the breakdown theme actually ended up making me think up a certain scenario, when I was kind of spit-balling a few ideas with Brendam Productions on what to rewrite next, after Edward Strikes Out and Don't be silly Billy, regarding what a rewrite of Mighty Mac's debut could go like.
Which ended up making me think of where the arguing between the two ends ended up going sour, to where one end protested the other's plans on how to do things, by slipping on their brakes, whilst the other tried in vain to drag them along with them.
And then, whilst that was going on, the driver and fireman tried to figure out how to get the brakes unstuck, through a quick fiddling of the controls, until the engine suddenly lurched forward, knocking them off their feet and causing them to accidentally yank off some vital parts of the engine's, thereby causing them to be out of service for the rest of the day, and for the thin controller to have a stern talk with them, whilst they were being repaired in the sheds.
"Ohhweeeee!! Ohhhhh!!" they screamed.
I love the "Pop Goes The Diesel" version of The Breakdown Train
“It was dark when they brought floating cranes to rescue Percy. He was too cold and stiff to move by himself.”
I love how certain variants have the o face sound effect in them. It really lifts up the song.
The crane scene from "Percy Takes the Plunge" always scared me as a kid. Between the mournful music, the nighttime lighting, and Percy looking like an eye-less ghost suspended from the cranes, that whole segment had a very eerie intensity to it. I think the only thing scarier is Gordon's angry facemask.
Yes, that was one of the eeriest scenes in the Thomas the Tank Engine TV series. What scares me much more is the scene before where Sir Topham Hatt scolds Percy for deliberately ignoring the "Danger" sign. I always thought he looked his angriest in that scene especially since it came with a special variant of his angry theme.
It does have an eeriness to it.
The mostly silhouetted and at the time unknown Diesel running past in the background and hearing his unusual sounding horn for the first time adds to the vague hauntedness of the scene.
@@TheBamaPrinceablelike the grim reaper?
You know what’s more scary? Hearing Percy narrate about a ghost train plunging into a gap *shrieking* like a lost *soul* anything more scary than that would probably be the Chinese dragon approaches theme
@@BrikLikesWaffles The only thing that scared me in that story as a kid was Percy crashing into the cart, and when he imitated a ghost at the shed.
the sheer level of danger conveyed in that pop-goes-the-diesel remix of this piece remind me of the rescue theme from series 1 oh-so much... _i haven't watched thomas in ages and i grew up on the late seasons of the model era, but boy are these tunes putting me in the mood to actually return to the series and give the classic era a watch_

Go Steady The Van Breaking
*The van breaks* The van was in pieces.

The van was in pieces
@@elmothegudava1222no one had been hurt, and soon Edward arrived to clear the mess. Sir Topham Hatt was on board.
1:38 "LAE IT TA ME!"
“Go steady, the van’s breaking!”
“The van was in pieces.”
James was loosing steam
"I CAN'T DO IT!"
"LAE IT TA ME!"
The gard climed out.
"Go steddie,the Van's breaking-"
*insert break Van breaking into peaces here*
The Van was in peaces.
Edward soon came to clear oit the mess with the fat Controller on board.
"I should have know it was douglas."
"Douglas was great sir. James had no more steam left and Douglas had worked enough for three"
Brakevan's version of the breakdown train theme always gave me chills.
I think it was the fact I never knew what was coming next or the fact both music and situation are very tense.
The beginning of the Breakdown Train theme sounds like your hoisting something with a rickety winch and it has the chance of snapping with its load.
Pop goes the Diesel is definitely the most frightening, especially with sounds.
0:19 This is the greatest breakdown train theme in the history of mankind. God bless you Afro for flawlessly recreating such a treasure. :’3
*"GAAARRGHH-GURRRR HOOORRGHHHHH!"*
~Ringo Starr
"Ohaahaha" Duck laught. Diesel tried to move the cars, but they wouldn't move
"Duck watched with interest"
These versions of the Breakdown Train themes did have their scary sides to them during Series 2. The one from 'Pop Goes the Diesel' was the scariest one or me when I was little. But the other 3 were the ones I loved mostly, especially 'Break Van' :) .
Thye are creepy
The Break Van variant send chills down my spine at the end with the strings
The "break van" version is my favorite rendition. Something about how slow and heavy it is just does such a good job communicating the weight of a train and the power exerted by an engine.
Never heard the Pop Goes the Diesel variant like this - I like all the angry undertones that version has.
someone else said that scene apparently came with a special variant of the _wide_ controller's "angery theme", so it seems this entire sequence's music was kinda -angry- *cross* with percy forgetting that the trucks are evil incarnate
This feels like music I would play during a heist.
It's 3 AM so of course my brain came up with lyrics (best sung to the beat of the "Pop Goes The Diesel" variant):
Breakdown train
Comin' a-gain
Breakdown train
Comin' a-gain
Gotta pull this cheeky engine
Outta the drain
Maybe this time they'll learn their les-son
Maybe next time it won't happen again, so
Breakdown train
Is comin' a-gain
To pull this cheeky engine right outta the drain
Breakdown train's work is neh-ver done, and
Trains are always getting themselves stuck in sand, so
Breakdown train
Is comin' a-gain
To pull this cheeky engine right back out of the drain, but
Breakdown train's work just seems al-ways to be done in vain...
I love all the change-ups to themes in season 2. They really highlighted the versatility of the motifs. Great recreation.
0:48 is basically the "O" face chord
1:07 Dash (PBS Kids) - Good Maggie!

Some of their brakes snapped....
*SNAP!*
And a gear hanging down jammed onto the sleepers.
The breakdown train theme has got to be one of my favourites from the show and your renditions remind me why.
Hearing the Pop Goes The Diesel variant clean sounds so fire :D
"Go steady, the van's breaking"
The van is in peices
little did the guard know those were soon to be his last words
The guard jump clear
00:00 It was dark when they brought floating cranes to rescue Percy. He was too cold and stiff to move by himself.
00:19 Diesel found them hard to move. “PULL, PUSH, BACKWARDS, FORWARDS!” “OOOWEEEEEE! OOOHWEEEEEEEE!” the cars groaned. “We can’t! We won’t!”
Duck watched with interest. Diesel lost patience. “ERRRRRRGRRRRRR!!!!” he roared and gave a great heave. The cars jerked forward. “OHHH, OOOHHHH!!!!” they screamed. “WE CAN’T! WE WON’T!” Some of their brakes snapped, and their gear jammed in the sleepers. “ERRRGERRR! HOOUUUGGHH!!!!” “HO HO HO!” chuckled Duck. Diesel recovered and tried to push the cars back, but they wouldn’t move. Duck ran quietly ‘round to collect the other cars.
01:07 Sir Topham Hatt watched the rescue operation, then he had more news for Duck. “And when you are properly washed and mended, you are coming home.” “Home, sir? Do you mean the yard?” “Of course.” “But sir, they don’t like me, they like Diesel.” “Not now. I never believed Diesel so I sent him packing. The engines are sorry and they want you back.”
01:24 Slowly, but surely, the snorting engines forced the freight cars up the hill, but James was losing steam. “I can’t do it, I can’t do it!” “Le’ it teh' me!” shouted Douglas. The conductor was anxious. “Go steady, the van’s breaking!” The van was in pieces.
Omg yes these are PERFECT! My favorite variation has to be the one from “Percy Takes The Plunge.” ❤️
Yes!! I’ve been waiting so long for someone to do the music for the breakdown crane themes in season 2!!
The Break Van variant sounds like somebody is about to get sniped.
And does.
The "Percy takes the plunge" variant has some relly nice bass and rythm to it
I always thought the one from "A Close Shave for Duck" sounded very similar to "Down the Mine" from S1.
Well done!!!!
I always loved the deeper strings heard in the S2 versions of this theme (especially in PTTP), and the Diesel variant - as you say - is definitely more intense and gets the adrenaline pumping!! :O
(Cosmic Highway is excellent btw - can't wait to hear your next original pieces too ;) )
The start of the “Break Van” variant is really creepy when you’re in a dark room alone
"Go steady, the van's breaking!"
Conductor.
I know I say this practically every time, but Ty this is some of your best!!! All sounds as if it was ripped directly from the show. Very well done sir!
The "Pop Goes The Diesel Variant" wound probably make any engine that got in a wreak ashamed of themselves. Legit sounds like that is engine heading to their deathbed
I love the Percy takes the plunge version!
I can hear the trucks go "OHHHH-EEEE OHHHHH" and Diesel going "HRRR GRR"
Same
Just want to say that your music is so inspirational to me! (Third listen in a row)
1:07 Marge Simpson - Good Job!
Sounds amazing! One of my favorite themes to the Thomas and Friends franchise.
My favorite version is the one from Pop Goes The Diesel. That one is so catchy.
1:07 Lisa Kept Maggie Simpson On Holding Still
Thanks Ty another Piece of music to make my day better ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I always the breakdown train theme in my head when I’m rescuing somebody.
See the breakdown crane always has this like same rhythm no matter what! Thats whys its like the best and im a big fan of your S1 Breakdown crane theme collection!
The season 2 versions of this theme are indeed more intense than the season 1 versions. As is all of the music from season 2, really.
Not gonna lie i do love the pop goes the diesel break down crane theme
1:07 Marge Kept Maggie Simpson On Holding Still
I guess when they made this they didn't realise they were making not a soundtrack, but childhoods.
I have to be honest, I thought this theme sounded a lot better in season 2. Nice job on each variation!
"The van was in pieces."
The Narrator.
I was literally just thinking about these season 2 Breakdowns Train themes this morning. What a coincidence!
The Plunge version feels like it would fit right in Banjo Kazooie to me
S.A Music should do Banjo-Kazooie mashups. Out of these music pieces from the Banjo games I have heard on CZcams, and compared them Thomas musics the last years, I means both Banjo musics and Thomas musics would match perfectly together as mashup mixes.
1:41 Go steady, the van's breaking!!!
I love the beginning of it, (Percy Takes a Plunge)
Came on here at the right time! Ah love it 🤔
Percy Takes the Plunge (1986)

i feel bad for the trucks in pop goes the diesel. Diesel is tearing them up to bits, when they're pleading for him to stop.

1:39 - Look out! The Van broken!
It was dark when they brought Floating Cranes to rescue Percy. He was too cold and stiff to move by himself.
Would love to hear an extended version of the break van version.

It's finally here.
1:07 one duck crush from the shave, Thomas tried to pull duck from shave
Mr D pulled a cars train
Duck: Home, sir? Do you mean the yard?
My favorite variant of this compilation is the one from Percy Takes The Plunge.
I agree! I think this is the eeriest is my opinion if you combine it with the midnight rescue scene and furious Sir Topham Hatt moment.
Nah bruh, the season 2 breakdown train theme hits different.

Come on, come on ! Puffed James crossly. Get movin u! Get movin u! Puffed Douglas from behind. Slow but surely, The Snorting engines forced the unwilling trucks up the hill. But James was losing steam. I can't do it, I can't do it! He painted. Leave it to me! Leave it to me! Shouted Douglas & puffed & he pushed so furiously, that sparks left from his funnel. Ooer! Groaned The Van. I wish I never thought of this! It was squeezed between Douglas & The Trucks. Go on! Go on! It screamed. But they took no notice. The Guard was anxious. Go steady! He called to Douglas. The Van's breaking! But it was too late. The Guard jumped as the van collapsed. He landed safely beside the line. Edward brought workmen to clear the mess.
1:39 was waiting for Donald and Douglas theme from the start of it
