- So as the title says, this is how we got into Northwestern University. Operative word is "WE"! We definitely want to emphasize that this is not THE formula - it was just our individual paths. Best of luck - trust the process! We hope that this helps and makes it all seem a little bit more digestible!

I went to Northwestern. Graduated class of 2015. It is a great school. Congrats!
Go Cats!
Thank you so much for posting this! I’m currently in the process of applying and all the videos i’ve seen had students with crazy stats and ECs that honestly freaked me out. It’s really reassuring to see that people with a similar caliber of stats/ECs as me were able to get in. Hopefully i’ll be there next fall!
Sarah Keough YAY!! We love to hear that. We definitely made this video for people like you - it’s a stressful time but just know you’ll end up where you are supposed to be! Best of luck :)
This has made me slightly more optimistic towards my application to the theatre program. Thank you so much!
Yay! Good luck - no matter what, we believe everything happens for a reason!
theatre at northwestern is my dream!
Thanks for making this video! I’m a rising senior about to start the college application process and this definitely gave me more confidence and motivation with the whole process. Also, that was such a nice little outro!
Amazing! Good luck! Everything happens for a reason - don't forget that!
My son just got accepted into Northwestern! Class of 2026. So excited for him
I really want to go to Northwestern. Ever since I visited, I knew it was the school for me!💜
Awesome! Good luck!
Performing is a wonderful endeavor. Bring it from the heart, your soul strength and innocence. And love it.
Preach
And remember, it's a lifelong thing if you love it. You evolve. Get better. And better.
This helps so much, I'm taking AP chem and have a B- and I'm not confident Im going to pass with an A in AP lit either. Thanks so much
I’m getting a variety of different offerings from schools and I’m just trying to figure out where to go. Thankful for your general support 🙏🏽
Congratulations! That's awesome - hopefully we were able to help out with your decision :)
Hey guys thank you for the great video! I just got into Northwestern but I'm torn between NU and Notre Dame. The only big thing holding me back from NU is I'm afraid I will be too stressed out to have fun and have the time to really think about what I want to do. I'm planning on majoring in International Studies and maybe Environmental Engineering right now with probably a few minors and certificates. Did you feel like there is a really stressful culture at NU, and that the quarter system makes everything way too fast-paced and stressful? Do students go out and have fun a lot or is it mostly just studying? Thanks again!
I'm considering applying to those schools for environmental engineering too. Did you apply to any other schools and if possible could I know you stats?
Oh my - so sorry we missed this comment. What did you end up choosing? Congrats on getting into both! No wrong choices there.
As a senior who's finishing up her last month of high school in Bethesda, it was super cool to hear that Bryan went to Whitman. It's a small world after all.
Awesome! Where'd you go? BCC?
You guys have such big class sizes, mine is only 80 people😂
So I attend a very small school in Minnesota (class size 48). I am the valedictorian, 3.99/4 GPA, 32 ACT, many extracurriculars, and all that, but I'm worried about the rigor of my coursework. I travel to a local university this year to find an academic challenge (so far all A's) because courses at my high school are not all that challenging. I exhausted both AP classes and all OCHS (online college courses) by the end of my junior year. Any tips on how I can convey this to admissions? I regret not applying ED, however, if I were admitted, NU would undoubtedly be my choice.
Yes, from what we know, Emrys is right! The college admissions at all schools do not compare you to students from other schools because it would be unfair since different schools have different opportunities. It sounds like you're in good shape. Our advice is to continue doing your best in your environment! Best of luck!
Thanks for this video!! Did you guys apply early? I'm interested in theatre major too. Are you guys in the MT program? How's your experiences with theatre major in general?? Thxxx
Hey Alison! Thanks for your questions!
Natalie applied early and I applied regular. Additionally, Natalie is in the MT certificate program and I am not. Overall, we love the theatre program - it definitely has some positives and some negatives depending on what you're looking for. I love the freedom but some friends of mine wish it had a more rigorous BFA style program. Let us know if you think we should make a theatre major at NU specific video!
Natalie and Bryan thanks for the reply! It’ll be awesome if you share more ab the overall experience at NU particularly ab MT/ theatre! Thanks
Hey Alison! We just wanted to let you know that we took your video request and just posted a new video going into A LOT of detail on Northwestern theatre. Hope it helps!
Natalie and Bryan thank you soooo much for the video!!!!!
Enjoy that first trip to Buffalo Joe's for wings and a beer!
what do you say for international students applying to northwestern with financial aid?
We can't speak personally on this experience as we both grew up in the US, but I know that there are definitely no rules restricting you from applying as an international student with a need for financial aid! I think just go for it and hopefully the University can help out!
I have close to 200 hrs of community service, 4.00 GPA, and im taking the sat in a couple weeks. But barely any extracurriculars:( sad since I want to get in
You never know what they’re looking for. Truly! You clearly have strong attributes and maybe it’ll be a good fit! Good luck!
@@NatalieandBryan god I sure hope you're right! Thanks for the lift up though
Hello! I'm currently a senior and hope to be admitted to Northwestern University this coming fall :) However, as you may know, the SAT is optional this year. Do you recommend submitting scores if they're on the lower end (but still within) the average for NU? I only took the test once and scored an 1450 and most likely will not have another opportunity to take it, due to the current situation. In addition, I also come from a prestigious public school, where the average test scores are most likely on the higher end. The other components of my application are stronger than my test score, but I'm conflicted as I'm not sure if submitting my score will aid or harm my chances of being accepted. Thank you!
I'm also applying regular decision, by the way!
