My aunt gave me this to watch when I was having a panic attack, and I went dead quiet and just enjoyed the series. My aunt and I are horror fans, so we just watched it together and then talked about it. I think it was in 2010 when I saw it.

I love how he talks up the fear level so much, and then 9 year old me is just in the corner watching it without even a hint of fear😂
This is without a doubt one of the best CZcams animations ever been created, I discovered it through a friend in middle school and even if I wasn't able to understand almost anything in that time since I still didn't learn English I enjoyed it and pushed me to learn this language just to be able to understand the plot, today I'm C1 in English and I still have room to improve but this little show was the fuel of my willingness to learn English in the first place, who knows? Maybe I wouldn't even bothered to learn a new language if it wasn't for this show and that's why Salad Fingers has its little special place in my heart.

When I was like 18 I ended up meeting up with this dude I met online who I really shouldn't have. He lived with only one neighbor who ignored him, by the ocean with torn down buildings, his house had 3 rooms but his bed was in the living room, it smelled like sweat, weed, alcohol, and something I can't describe. I stood by the door the whole time and he made me watch these videos while laughing. Dude was unhinged and I made an excuse to leave as soon as I could and basically ran to my car.

honestly i’ve never watched salad fingers (i probably should since i’ve enjoyed this episode) but the way you described salad finger’s distinctly different ‘personalities’, the memory loss, and usage of skills he doesn’t remember learning is highly reminiscent of did (dissociative identity disorder) -coming from an osdd 1-b system (similar to did systems)

i hate this “show” with a burning passion. Its so well made that i literally started hallucinating and started hearing spoons clatter in the kitchen. And while i was experiencing this while i was under 6 blankets and a robe. And me not being able to sleep with that much on is saying something. I am still traumatized by this because of how well it was made. I hate it but love it

He is probably suffering from severe PTSD from being in the war or in a field hospital. If he is in the hospital that would explain the disfigured people and the strange dreams. But the PTSD would explain the baron wasteland that the story is set in.

First I didn't think much about salad fingers but after watching some episodes i couldnt help but find these little details that showcase the sad reality of war, life...there are hints about child abuse and psychopathic behaviour

Kinda late, but a theory: Salad Fingers could’ve gone to the Great War, and somewhere around the timeline when he was in the war, he could’ve gotten shell shock. Look it up, it can mess you in the head pretty bad, and I think it’s likely that Salad fingers is in a form of shell shock or PTSD.
To add to this, I think he went to war with his brother. I think he heard the news, one way or another, that his brother died and he just didn't know how to cope. Especially considering that Salad is the older of the two. I think that's why the war never ended for him - his brother never came home.

As a British person, Salad Finger’s voice was an immediate giveaway. It’s an unnerving impression of that old lady at Tesco’s who holds up the queue at the checkout whilst looking for her glasses. Creepy stuff.
I've loved salad fingers for years. I genuinely never thought it was scary. Spooky yes but not scary. It's more sad than scary but also numbing in a weird way.

I wonder if he has DID. DID is a personality disorder that is triggered by trauma. The other personality’s can have different genders and names. But one thing I find most interesting is that the alters (the other personality’s) can change different things about the body. For an example a blind woman in Columbia found out she had DID and after that her alters gained sight.
