Universal Studios Resort

On our recent Florida trip we did hop over to Universal Resort for a day*. The resort has two parks - Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios. Our ticket did cover both parks but as it was only a one day ticket we didn't have time to see the whole place. Unfortunately we missed all of the Harry Potter stuff.
But what was the reason I was (mildly) disappointed?! Well let me tell you - HOGWARTS EXPRESS! The steam train fan in me was so disappointed when I saw the cable system... NOT A REAL STEAM TRAIN!! Ah but even so it was still good fun so I wasn't completely disappointed... only mildly ;)

* It was far too expensive to do more than one day!
** Universal were not as accommodating as Disney about filming any of the rides. Might be a health and safety thing but even on the Ripsaw water ride I wasn't allowed to. Boring buggers.

Ah yes, I knew the Hogwarts train was a weird mockup. Clever though!
That's weird you watching being in Florida watching a simulation of Glenfinnan Viaduct, and I went across it in real life only recently 😂
Oh, and Back To The Future. I've seen the locomotive used in the film, early 2000s (I think it was).

I hadn't realised before hand but it was quite obvious really that they wouldn't run a big steam engine for that distance! It was still good fun though!

Ah I wasn’t really disappointed- only a little bit. Unless they put proper steam in the loco then I’ll probably still feel the same next time. All in all it was a good day though. Jurassic Park was the best!
