    Part 1: • John Salley & Vlad on ...
    --------
In this clip, John Salley opened up about his thoughts on athletes taking steroids, and John admitted that he doesn't consider it cheating. He explained that steroids help with recovery and strength, but he adds that it doesn't increase overall talent in an athlete. John went on to speak about getting treatments done in Germany to help with healing his joints, which you can hear more about above.

I'm late on this but I question how feasible it is to play a professional sport without PEDs and still be healthy. If nothing else you'll need them for recovery. The TV schedule that sports demands is really unnatural.

PED means performance enhancing. There are many many other things you could take for recovery instead of altering your own hormone levels. I don’t believe someone like Mayweather ever took PEDs and look at his career.

You don’t need PED’s in baseball for ‘recovery’ there’s 4 or 5 at bats. Maybe 4 fielding attempts. No need.
They definitely will make you hit the ball harder and further though.

PED's do help with hitting. Instead of fly balls getting caught at the warning track they would go over the fence. If this happens fifteen times in a season that is a hugh difference. Instead of thirty five home runs it's fifty home runs. It also gives you fifteen extra hits which you wouldn't have had. That could mean the difference from being a 280 hitter or a 300 hitter.

Balls Bonds used to hit to the wall are now going over the wall thanks to increased strength from PEDs. It's really not rocket science. The stronger you are the further you can hit a ball. Yes you still have to have skill to hit the ball but now you have additional strength to hit the ball way further. If I can only lift 100 pounds and then I start taking a drug that allows me to lift 500 pounds how is that not going to improve my athletic performance? If PEDs were allowed in sports the people with the most financial resources would have an unfair advantage because they'll be able to afford the newest and best peds available. Not to mention basic PEDs are still very expensive for the average person. And that's just one aspect why peds are and should continue to be banned. Others include its detrimental to athletes long term health in some instances and its just ethically wrong. Sports is suppose to be the equalizer meaning everyone plays by the same rules there are no handicaps. You have to show your skill and how much you prepare and practiced to win. As you might see, I go back a long time. Watched Moses when he came right out of HS. Channel 4 Indianapolis which showed all the pacers home games. Artis Gilmore, Dr J as a Net, Big George. 8 role players caught taking PED's. Sooooo, supposedly, some say the game is a softer less physical contact game. Thus, muscle mass doesn't help one. With a faster pace and ball movement, weight/bulk is less needed to drag up&down the court.
