    2 year old video and STILL comes in handy! I will be removing my truck bed tomorrow, replacing the fuel pumps in my 1994 Ford F150. Dual tanks like yours. Figured, removing the bed would be much easier than trying to drop the tank from underneath by myself alone. Thanks for the video. :)

    I may update the video to include the actual removal of the bed to show you how it’s done. Putting it on takes at least 3 people

    Thanks for posting this. I have to remove my bed on my 97 f250 OBS Get to the front fuel tank. Replace the showerhead fuel pickup foot. I wasn't sure about the wiring. But mine is exactly like yours. So I'm good to go now! Thanks again!!

      I actually made a newer video, and it shows the bed being lifted up by the engine hoist, but the concept is the same. You can definitely do it by yourself although, having friends makes it a little easier, you can still do it by yourself, best of luck, sir.

    Its real easy when its already off. Those bolts are in some pretty nasty, tight spots on the inner frame, especially the middle ones. The nut is tucked into a corner behind the rear wheel and axle. These are 18mm nuts. Use lots of wd or pb! Air tools were definitely necessary. Also had to use flexible extension. Nasty upside down job. Good luck if everything's rusted... Luckily mine was pretty clean. Btw, these bolts are made of unobtainium!

      What do you mean by flexible extension? I see actual flexible extensions for 1/4" and 3/8" drives but not for 1/2". Do you mean "wobble" extensions? Or, do you mean universal joint socket adapters?

    How heavy is that truck bed? One recommendation I can see would be to put it on sawhorses so you don't have to lift it up all the way from the ground. But, that will require two or four people to take it off and put it on. I better go make some new friends now.

    • @7906jen
      @7906jen  Před 2 lety

      You can do it with 2 but I recommmend 4 if you don’t want to mess up your nice bed

      @@7906jen Well, I don't have enough friends to do it properly. But, many years ago I bought an electric hoist that I've never used. Maybe I could hang it in the garage and use it to lift the bed and then drive out from under. I'll have to give that some thought. I see that Harbor Freight sells a 1 ton Gantry Crane on wheels that would be handy. But that $ 830 price tag is a bit high for one use.

      @7906jen  Před 3 lety

      What I didn’t show was how I described, have the bed rest to lift off, I tilted the passenger side up and slowly slide toward driver side. Eventually it will tilt and want to slide off the frame on the driver side. You will not damage any parts as long as the filler necks have been dropped down as seen in the video. It’s really easy and doable by yourself
