Wondering why the electric car market is in such turmoil? 🔄🚗 Electric Car Market in Crisis: Here’s Why Everyone's Backing Out! WATCH IT NOW HERE! 👉czcams.com/video/anRVuztuKS0/video.html
All electric is not the answer. Why would you spend so much Money on a vehicle that's at the very least unreliable & very likely has no Trade In Value.
It’s all about the battery. Lithium ion batteries are very expensive, they degrade over time, and have been known to catch fire. Even ignoring the fire hazard, the batteries lose capacity in a few years, as well as in cold weather. This is why EVs have no resale value. Replacing the battery costs more than the car is worth. The battery can also be damaged in even a minor accident, leading to very high insurance rates. Until and unless better batteries are developed, EVs will not be widely accepted.
Pretty much zero truth in any of that. Batteries commonly have an 8 year warranty with a much longer usable life than that. LFP batteries cannot combust.
Wasn't too long ago, I "passed" on a used HYBRID Honda. It was 7 years old. The Hybrid battery was gonna cost $10,000.00 PLUS disposal fees whenever it gave out. To hell with that. I would much rather pay for gas.
Doctors say, ... if you want to live a long health life, safe, stress free and without worry, ... then never, ... ever, .. ever buy an .. Electric Vehicle... ESPECIALLY A USED ONE
No one can justify spending hard earned money on what is basically a $70k golf cart with a really nice interior. Every person that I personally know that has bought an EV [7 so far] have sold them within 18 months.
I brought a used model S. It's range is now lower when charged fully. I got it from a mom and pop used car lot. The old man told me he'll give it to me for 10 thousand dollars, just please get it off my lot. I was the 3 ird person to look at it in the 10 months it sat there. I gave him 10K cash. Well aware of the reduction in range which trust me is short and shitty and aware of the reduction in battery quality, i only use it for local destinations only. I only drive it within a 10 mile radius. When it comes to long range travels, i park the S and break out my jaguar XJL. A large full size luxury automobile which tesla dosent even make, paid off at 41K, 3 minutes to fuel and for a range of 570 miles which supersedes my model S across the board. Very smooth and comfortable and more than a pleasure to drive. If i had to get rid of one of them it would definitely be the model S sorry to say. There's absolutely no way in hell im going to boast any car that provides me with less. Yes it's cheaper to charge but for the times you have to plug in and stay awhile and for the short and shitty range you get, trust me cheap is the least they can do for you. I take damn good care of my jaguar XJL and the results? It takes damn good care of me and does so with far greater features than my model S. As an owner of an EV i must truthfully admit, till they improve the EV with shorter down times and a range of atleast 500 miles, they are not all that. I see why the majority dosent want anything to do with them. And if you paid 1000 dollars quarterly for your car, you got ripped off by your mechanic. I pay that every one and a half years out of the 3 years i had my gas car.
@@scottb5733 I don't pay that much to maintain my jaguar XJL even before i got the model S. And if i did, so what, money i have, time i don't. My XJL provides me with what my tesla could never provide me with.... short downtimes and long range, full size luxury which tesla dosent even make, instruments and displays dead infront of me and not haveing to view to the right on some computer screen which belongs on my desk at my office. Everything would cost me a hell of alot more to fix in my Model S. I like my model S but i would never take it on any of my long range travels, That's the job of my XJL which sorry to say, i like more.
Hybrid are more reliable than EV and most ICE ( mainly German made ICE ). Hybrids are very fuel efficient in urban areas, they can regen power back into battery instead of using mechanical brakes.
@@fredsilva7274 Plenty of Toyota Prius ( been with us for decades ) doing taxi work 24/7/365 and huge mileages... So apart from rapid straight line speed EV's are just like white goods . No joy or enjoyment. Just a tool from getting from A to B with a load of grief in-between!!!!!
Looking at the scheme of things I honestly wouldn’t even buy a hybrid let alone a full EV. People tend to forget Hybrids still run lithium ion batteries and when you consider they would have the same downfalls as normal EVs like the risk of thermal runaway, battery degradation and ultimately battery replacement together with the fact it makes a vehicle more complex as you’ve got 2 drive systems and the fact you still need trained EV technicians to work on them it’s to big of a risk.

I would never buy an EV but in 2007 I bought my first hybrid a Toyota Prius and then traded up to a better specced Toyota Prius in 2010. I had that car for almost ten years and did 150000 miles in it. Apart from general wear and tear maintenance I did not have a single issue with it - absolutely nothing went wrong! Then sadly the stealing of catalytic converters epidemic started and it was game over as mine got stolen too in the summer of 2019😭😭😭 - now I drive a regular gas powered Kia Sportage which I’m also very happy with although it’s not as reliable as the Toyota Prius but fortunately comes with a 7 year warranty.
That includes hybrids they have batteries that get old and unreliable they include much more parts then a ice or EV no you are not looking at hybrids expenses being old
EV batteries should be built with standardized, user-replaceable, and low priced modules of 1 KWh each. The EV battery should have an option for which it can be on a lifetime lease, so anytime the battery fails - totally or partially - the manufacturer takes it back and replaces it with a new or renewed battery. While such policies of battery standardisation, modularity and leases may initially be more expensive for the EVs manufacturers, they would kickstart the used EVs market and the private EVs repairshops, and improve sales greatly. EU/US EVs manufacturers should also avoid the use of reluctance motors, and use induction motors in all their EVs. Induction motors are 10-20% bigger for the same output power, but they don't use any magnet of any type. This would help them because they wouldn't require anymore the neodymium and all ofher rare earths on which the Far East country has a monopoly.

Thermal runaway? You mean fires?
It's like buying used battery
Hybrids contain lithium ion batteries and require more maintenance than ICE vehicles.
With the cost of replacing an EV battery makes it a disposable car like a Bic lighter
If you’re a democrat, by all means buy an EV- you deserve one

I see an entire industry growing on converting EVs to ICE.🤣
There are companies doing that already in the U.S. . They put small v8 engine in them.
Like "Geoff Buys Cars" once said, " They were meant to fail ". Hybrids are the far better deal anyway.

If you think jokes about used car salespeople are bad. the jokes get better while the cars get worse.

What's the problem?
After 8 years when out warranty becomes a big problem for everyone
