    Hi man I'd appreciate if you'd reply, I live on a high top place 11th floor actually so I don't get good signal from my ISP using 4G internet, (I used to live on 10th floor which was a very huge diff because my internet was very strong there I didn't need any router only my hotspot and bluetooth receiver for my pc) would this router do the trick? coz I use a old model huwawei 5gh router and it still oftentimes lose signal.

    Daft question - I'm considering this for an install on a narrowboat, placing the router in the cabin space and connecting it to an external dual band antenna. Q1 - are the existing antenna detachable in such a way that I can attach the connections for the external antenna ? Q2 - I'm assuming that the antenna are for receiving/transmitting the 4G LTE signal and not used for the wifi signal as I assume that is transmitted 'by the box' - am I correct ?

    • @AshutoshThakur007
      @AshutoshThakur007  Před 5 lety +2

      Q1 - Yes they are detachable. And you can use a external antenna which supports 70Mhz to 2700Mhz 4G/LTE signals with a SMA connectors to connect to the device.
      I will suggest you to get the device first and then buy the external antenna because it will be easier for you to get the correct connectors.
      Q2- Yes, those outside antennas are for receiving 4G/LTE signals. The WiFi antenna is in-built inside the device.

      Any antenna which supports 70Mhz to 2700Mhz frequency then you are good to go.

    Are you still using the MR400 5/6 years later? I actually bought the exact same model a few days ago after doing research, and this is the model i definitely wanted.
    I've had it maybe 3 or 4 days now and it's very good.
    I have a security camera for my unit that runs off wifi and i have been using a vodafone 4G pocket wifi as the modem for the last few years but the readon i bought the MR400 is because its not good leaving a small pocket wifi plugged into a power board 24/7. They're designed for travel and camping etc and when they're fully charged, they should be unplugged. But since I'm powering a home security csnera, i was treating the pocket wifi like a modem router, so i made the decision to get sonething that is dedigned to be switched on 24hrs a day with no problem 🙂

      The main difference is the speed of each WiFi bands:-
      In MR400 1350

      5 Ghz Band has a signal rate of 867Mbps

      2.4 Ghz Band has a signal rate of 300Mbps

      Daniel Nel This router is both 4G and 3G supported. Inside device settings you select the network mode to 4G preferred mode.
      And hence it will automatically just to the available signals in your area.
      Still you don't get a solution then you can manual select the 4G or 3G option to forcefully select the network.

    • @AshutoshThakur007
      @AshutoshThakur007  Před 5 lety

      That is not possible.

  • @archer4321
    @archer4321 Před 3 lety

    This is not at all a stable device. I have been using a Jio Mifi router which is hardwired to my computer when on conference calls. The connection would never drop once but after I put the sim in this router and joined a meeting online, it kept disconnecting. It was very embarrassing in front of the clients and I stopped using this immediately. The 4G back up mode is absolutely useless and will only kick in if your internet is completely out so if your primary internet has poor quality of service (e.g. ping drops) like we have with SITI network in our area, the back up mode is of no use as it does not detect QOS and provide back up when needed.
    You will be better off with a JIO mifi router for mission critical work. Trust me, there is hardly any difference in the speed although I am just 100 meters from the closest JIO tower. This is fine in an area with no hard wired network connectivity and for basic home usage but don't bank on this for WFH, it will disappoint you.

    • @AshutoshThakur007
      @AshutoshThakur007  Před 3 lety

      Yes. It is true. This device is the old model and doesn't support Jio that well.
      I always recommend my viewers to buy the latest model which is TP-Link Archer MR600.
