Work conditions are a nightmare, but what else are people supposed to do? Everywhere is understaffed. “Managers” are abusive and incompetent. Life is suboptimal in and out of the workplace. There are no good options for most of us.

@AstroJonThisIsIt It's because most companies can save money by being understaffed an having those people do more then what there job ask them to do.
If the company doesn't have to spend money hiring new people, then they will do just that an overwork the current understaffed employees they have

stop accepting the lower standards offered by others and raise the bar. if you only provide the bare minimum, how will there be any profit left for yourself or others? you get paid by helping others, so doing the bare minimum isn't really helping them or you, is it?

Don't listen to people who say just save money. Human beings need shelter and something to eat. If it costs too much to do so, then it's society's fault, the people at the top and not yours. I make a decent income, and there is always some expense that comes up, but because the money is worth less and less, it's harder to afford the basics. I would recommend fleeing to another country if you can because America is a sinking ship, and you might be able to make use of your education abroad. Most people are affected by normalcy biases and think they can work, save, and vote their way out of this. Good luck, MS.

I had alot of acquaintances. Friends would never let you sleep on the streets. They either would have you live with them or ask a friend to have you live with them or talk to finds that can get you help on getting to a homeless shelter or getting and applying for low income housing. The people that are just graduating they were complaining that they cannot get a job. Dr Phil told them that they should go to the trade school route because they are short staffed in the trade's. I seen a CZcams video of a Chinese girl that lives out of her car while being a software engineer for Microsoft. I was like shocked while Microsoft is making record profits. My grandparents were Oakies, but they were from Nebraska. They lost their crops 3 years in a row due to the climate, thus lost their farm and were kicked out of their home from debtors bank. They drove to California. They had to stop in Utah because their car stopped working. They lived in a kind farmers chicken coop that winter until they could get the money to fix the car. They were promised work in the Oxnard California area to pick strawberries and pomegranate. There was a monastery there that helped with those needing food and shelter for those Americans coming in from the Midwest who had nothing. Americans today have no idea how entitled they are homeless or not. There are so many resources and opportunities today that my grandparents didn’t have. There was no room or time to think for oneself back then. The community was real and authentic. They were a god fearing people and overcoming adversity and living modestly was all the rage.. Family was everything and the isolation you speak of is because people turned away from God and family. What did you think was going to happen. It’s not sustainable. When you only live for self, you will suffer. I wish you well.
